That sure was a great story Jared. Defending the family and the wrong that was done upon her and her children, I don't blame her bit. Sad she had to witness the killings of her husband and son. Civil war left lot blood shed across the dirt Heavenly Father blessed us to live upon, but also left lot bad memories. Im sure a person had to be tough back then in those days, mainly the mountain women.. take a hard licking in life. Thanks for sharing as always and have a beautiful blessful Thursday night..
Hidey Lisa! Always a blessin to hear from ya. Yeah you're mighty right on that! I don't blame her neither. Thank ya kindly for watchin and enjoyin Lisa. God bless and have a good'n
Dad always said that, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorn." He also said that when women hit that level, they don't forget and they are more ruthless than any man could be. He saw it first hand while looking for evidence for a crime when he was working with the law. That is a story to tell you one day. God bless. Kel
Yessum I absolutely agree!!! A woman NEVER forgets.. they just wait for the perfect time to unleash their wrath!! Oh sounds like an interesting one for sure!! Tnanks so much for watchin Kel. God bless and have a good'n
Ive heard a little bit about this story. I grew up in Morgan county Alabama. Next door to Lawrence county. One thing I know for sure is Lawrence and Winston county used to be full of ol roughnecks. Plenty of moonshiner's too. The motto at the Moulton speedway (a dirt track) used to be " come to the fights and race might break out".
Howdy Kinfolk! Thank ya kindly for watchin and saying howdy. It's an honor and a blessin to meet ya. Lol Looord I gotta remember that one!! God bless and have a good'n
This story makes what my father's people did during the Civil War understandable. My father's people were in Kentucky. My mother's people were in North Carolina. There was no question which side my mother's people were on. However, I did not ask my father what part his people took during the Civil War until I was middle aged. Daddy told me that his people wanted no part of that war. They took with them what they could carry and hid so deep in the woods that no one knew they were out there. They went back to the Native American ways until long after the war was over. Then they returned to what was left of their farm and home. I don't think anyone in the family has the knowledge and skills to be able to do that today. Ms. Jenny suffered through a lot. The Civil War turned her sons and Jenny into the people they became. "War!" "What's it good for? "Absolutely nothing!" What became of her daughters? Thank you for this store. It's sad what was done to them and what they did in return.
Love them old stories always love to watch someone I watch a movie or drink a milk drink or drink beer or after I work or after I hunt for deer God bless you always would love to videos my brother
Still hard feelings over that war. I know a man who was down to Tennessee going to Florida and wanted to see Lookout Mountain. He asked the owner of the gas station he had stopped at ... "Hey buddy, how far down the road is it to where General Grant whipped the Rebels behinds?" The man wouldn't sell him gas. Nice one Jared.

But most of them know little about the hard work they claim to be doing. And what does the confederate flag have to do with being a hard working farmer when, not all, but many farmers in the south had slaves doing the work anyways. There was a lot of folks who did not have slaves down south though. My family has been living in them hills since the late 1600s and I don't know about the 1st one that came here but I do know from records that that person's son and their offspring did not have slaves. And for several generations those men married Quakers who were against slavery. 1 section of my family worked on the Underground Railroad helping to get slaves to freedom. The Civil war broke my family up causing a huge fued because West Virginia was a border state which meant that people could choose to fight for the north or the south. My great grandpa, his twin and their brothers and many of their cousins got put in the same Union (northern) unit. While some of their kinfolk chose to fight for the confederates (south). The family was destroyed because of it. After the war the ones that survived and made it back home couldn't find any peace with eachother. So my great grandpas twin and some of his brothers and cousins, his mother, wife and kids set off on the Oregon Trail. They ended up staying in MO to stock back up and face the winter. They had to bury their mother there. Some stayed there and those descendants are still there. Others made it to Oregon & later on some went to Washington. But for unknown reasons my great grandpa stayed behind. Perhaps because he had so many kids. His wife died at some point so he married a Native American/black/white lady who was my great grandma. Perhaps that is why he did not go with them because people would have treated her very unfair and cruel. Her ethnicities show up in our DNA tests. We were supposed to have been what they called "melungeon" via her side. On my dad's side of the family I am the 1st generation to be born and raised in the north but we went down to the hills to visit kinfolk every year. A part of my heart is down there in the parts my Dad was raised in and where my ancestors were for 100s of years. 💜🙂 ❤️🤍💙🇺🇲
