    This guy's about to change Andrew's life. Ableton/Push, Non-Linear music making, Slate VSX, Amp Modeling... You can't tell this to our boy he's gonna sell the whole studio he just built!

    Andy is a gifted communicator. His studio is an extension of himself, the user, which is comfy yet super productive. He's really embraced budget conscious tech and stripped music making down to some bare essentials. Save for the custom built space and sweet guitars, he has a lot in common with the kid who only uses a gaming laptop, FL studio and some decent cans to make platinum tracks. I'm inspired by this video to streamline my workflow.

    one of the most unique and forward looking studios i've seen on this channel. He does a lot of things differently than a lot of the other studios you've shown, but it's all build around HIS workflow. It's amazing to watch!

    I love these small buildings that are purpose-built to be a studio. So much creativity in the layout. I also think it's super cool that he's into all the modeling and in-the-box production. If it works for you, it works! Thanks for sharing your space with us!

    The Presonus live boxes are such a good way of getting audio to and from spaces in a studio like this. I am glad he pointed that out. Very useful. It also goes well with audio over IP which, if you are going to make a space like this, has so many benefits.

    • @nkozi

      A close second is probably the Cranborne Audio C.A.S.T. stuff, though that's a little more suited to having a live room. It'd be cool to see this channel explore that since dude's got one of their 500 series racks.

    Great tour! Cool to see someone using a Dante network in a studio. If anyone is asking...the router needs to be a PoE router. (powered ports).

      I've always wondered why DANTE-enabled gear isn't more mainstream. like where are all the stage boxes, and A/D/A converters? Is there licensing that's keeping it from home studio budgets? I have this vision of building a studio where I just take a little rack with some 500 series pre's, plug it into a network port and have the pre's I want in whatever room or booth that I need. no more need to run snakes anywhere, and you get instant recall patching with Dante controller

      My router is a Cisco SG-200 08. No PoE - but if I had networked devices without their own power supplies that would def be handy. 💥🙏🤘

    Can you please let me now what you are using for your Push mounting. It looks absolutely ideal for what I has looking for. I tried a few solutions but yours looks very stable - plush it has wheels. I'm modelling my control room after yours - everything is has everything very accessible, convenient and configurable. Nice job on the lighting as well - a nice finishing touch - awesome!

    It would be great to see more like Andy's studio. His "all digital" approach with dante and Ableton creates a streamlined, high quality workflow. Not to mention the cost savings. I was struck by the opening ad for a hardware product that was over $2K and the equivalent Slate plugin under $50. It would be helpful to list the equipment mentioned in the video in your comments.

    Love the studio and control room setup in particular! I’m especially loving the keyboard/desk setup… it’s so shallow and up close with the Raven/monitor! I wish you had explained that setup a little more.
    Can we find out how it’s set up? Like how is the counter for the Raven designed to sit right over the keyboard? And what is the keyboard sitting on?

    Hope it's ok to pose a construction question to the studio hive-mind . . . I'm weighing the pros and cons of engineered laminate floor vs. vinyl flooring. I've noticed that the vinyl material seems very quiet (to foot noise). Has anyone used it for a recording space? Does it remain quiet? No popping, squeaking over time? Appreciate the videos! Thanks for any insight you all can offer.

    • @douglasshelton3482
      @douglasshelton3482 Год назад +1

      I have vinyl floor in my studio which is a converted garage. The concrete was sloped like a normal garage so it needed to be evened out before laying the floor. While the temps in here are relatively stable I do feel the floor expands and contracts some. The floor makes pop sounds when walking on it occasionally in different spots but so far after about 2 years there are no problems with sections popping out of place or anything like that. All that said, I personally have found no problem with it.

      @@douglasshelton3482 Hey thanks for the feedback! Did you use any specific underlayment? eg. cork?

    • @douglasshelton3482
      @douglasshelton3482 Год назад +1

      @@pnotemusic actually, each plank of vinyl already has a thin layer of foam to help keep it quiet, at a guess around 1/8th inch thick. the flooring is 100% water proof too.
