I went to Sweetwater once in 2015 and didn't fully understand just how much gear there is in that building. I just hopped in, grabbed a few sticks, went down the slide, twisted some knobs and then left. Only to hear about it later that the entire warehouse is in that building. It's so awesome to get to see everything that goes on in that place!
What is interest to me as an old guy who was recording 2nd engineer back in the 70's is we didn't have instruments in the studio other than pianos. Back then musicians brought their own gear and when necessary gear was rented for the sessions. That's why then a guitarist would have one or two huge studio trunks delivered by their cartage service. Even as to studio outboard gear we have a small selection and rented gear as requested. Back then it was all about use what's available apply lots of creativity both as a musician and producer or engineer. Quite a different world and hate to think about what the investment is now to assembly a commercial studio.
Worth to consider whether this unlimited arsenal has any point if I listened to Gilberto, Davis, MJQ, Pleasure, Steely Dan, EWF, Tower of Power, and the rest of the amazing music from the '60s and '70s. I mean that sound is insane and gone by now. Something was lost over time. Inspiration, knowledge?
Great tour, Andrew! I bought my first Kurzweil from Chuck out of his garage and still have it after all these years. I had the pleasure of recording in the studio. Outstanding space and staff.
Great tour - it does beg the question - how much gear is too much? I wonder whether having 2 of everything results in decision paralysis for clients as often as it inspires folk.. I guess that’s the role of the studio team to help people find the magic piece of gear for them..
I like the two drum over heads in studio A. Just a casual studio tour with my $10,000 a piece Telefunken ELA251's. 😂 Awesome studio tour. I love seeing digital meets analog like this. Great job Andrew.
Andrew, this is an amazing tour, I live in ft Wayne and took the tour back in 2015 but they have really change so much since then I guess I should check it out in the next week or so anyway always a great job and great content Thanks!!!
Great tour. I have a couple of questions. What were they using for a talkback mic, what was the wall audio panel in the amp room and what was the Cat5 cable mentioned?
love the vids been binge watching your content lots and its sooo nice the only tiny problem/downside is the frame rate being 30/24fps at 1:24 the camera sweep is jittery and id prefer the videos only being 1440 instead of 4k but 60 fps other than that they're perfect
Quite annoying this guy, so uninspired, not showing any love, doesn’t look happy at all. I couldn't play one note with him around on a recording session, no matter the huge amount gear, much more than you need to make good music anyway.
I agree. He talks like a geek. Throws out a lot of terms and numbers. Listen to the the way Bob Clearmountain speaks. Down to earth and he’s done a ton of records. This guy ain’t done one record.
Gear for days!! What are you taking home with you??
I just send them my paycheck every two weeks...
That mouse in studio A is a gem!
Not going home, I’ll just move right on in!
The Neve 5088 😍
My Sweetwater wishlist just got so much bigger!

We're proud to be a part of that mic locker. Great video!

A commercial studio in the ballpark of this one has to be no less than $1 million to even start the process
Great tour, Andrew! I bought my first Kurzweil from Chuck out of his garage and still have it after all these years. I had the pleasure of recording in the studio. Outstanding space and staff.
I believe this is what heaven looks like.
Andrew just keeps taking it up a notch every season! Love to see it bro. Your branding and work ethic has been an inspiration.
That Sweetwater studio is unreal. Favourite part was the guitar amplifier collection.

The sound isolation in those studios even makes the camera mic sound better

About 2/3 of the way through this realized I had been grinning the whole time. Fun!
Cant wait til you hit 100k, then 500, then a million. This is amazing content! You just keep leveling up man!💯🙏🏾
Appreciate it!!
I've been waiting forever for a tour of this studio. Thanks Andrew.
I had no idea the Sweetwater campus was so awesome! Great video!
Shawn is SO beyond informed it’s simply mind boggling
My talkback mic is a Manley gold reference. Simple and effective.
"what compressor you using with that?" 🤣
@@m.o.n.d.e.g.r.e.e.n Fairchild, obviously.
My jaw was dropped for the whole tour

Sweet water has the nicest mic locker ever it’s so sick and sweet water has every kind of mic you can dream off
Digging that Rupert Neve Bobblehead!! :D
I really love those Crown's amplifiers, ahhhhhh love it!
Finally getting back into the groove of watching your videos man. These are awesome!
"We've got one bass... it's a P-Bass... and I think it's all we'll ever need".... Favorite quote from this video.
Haven’t been recommended a video here in a while. But as soon as that popped up on my feed all I could say was “oh that’s expensive”.
Aviom is great. Going out to play festivals and arenas, these are life savers. they make soundcheck go so much faster.
The ATMOS Room!!!
Shawn is the best!
Paradise!
Great episode!!! I'm a bass player, please spend more time on the bass set-ups 😁👍
Was just there a couple weeks ago. UNBELIEVABLE!!

It's going to be okay.

AWESOME! Truly an EPIC Studio tour!
Just…W O W !! I am not worthy and humbled!!!
What a great tour. I’m not sure if what I’m feeling is “Shock & Awwww” or jealousy!!!
Great tour Andrew!!
EPIC STUDIO!!!! I fucking LOVE Sweetwater.
outrageous studio!!
Wow! Sweetwater!?? Thats awesome dude!
Great tour. I have a couple of questions. What were they using for a talkback mic, what was the wall audio panel in the amp room and what was the Cat5 cable mentioned?
Awesome great lnterview great show great audio. 👍 great show
Absolutely rad
That’s my dad Shawn
Great content! Not gonna lie, watching you walk around all that gear with a coffee in your hand is low key stressing me out. Lol
Oh how I wish Sweetwater had a store out here in Vegas
Hey Andrew, do you know why the guys at sweetwater are sticking to the avid matrix versus other converters?
My bro, Shawn Dealey!
Nick D'Virgilio from Big Big Train works there and lives in the area. he is an amazing drummer and a really nice guy too.
We did a session with Nick! Video coming soon

Amazing video !🤘🏽
LOVE IT LOVE IT MAN! Btw Where I can find those track lights on the ceiling and the back of the Neve console in blue lighting the speakers? 🤓👏🏻👍🏻
How do they keep everything so clean?
26:55 Is that Tambourine Room named the Liam Gallagher Room?
Whats the intro song? its amazing production 🤟🏾
"What plug-ins do you guys have?"
"Yes"
Andrew, Behringer got lots of companies they own, like Ashton mics and lots of other
How do I get info/schematics for the 80/20 frame?
Wow 😯
Wow.
Does BIZZY BONE record there? think i seen him in there
Wow…🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I have a feeling you'll be able to find it at Sweetwater because... we're at Sweetwater.
That made me laugh.
What is the name of band and song at the end?
Haha what plug ins do you have.......mmmmmmmost of them lol. Boss.
Man I want that 5088. I'm shot on cash ATM. Wonder if i could get one on like 3000 easy payments.. LOL love your work. keep it up.
Funny he didn't like the Kemper, but uses the DSP for capturing... that's a little backwards too me.
It would be great to see more small home studios.
Best studios for $1,000, $2,000, $3,000, …. $10,000…
Check out some of the other tours in the playlist. There's some good ones.
@@AndrewMasters Feel the opposite to be honest. The 'drool' studios like this are why I watch you.
Kinda sad I didnt catch my Sweetwater sales engineer Cassie O'Hanlon anywhere in this video lol!
i guess we were all looking around in the backgrounds to see if we might catch our sales engineers! lol
epic..
Holy Shit!
❤
Supper
Can anyone tell me what mixing desk was in studio C (the second studio shown)?
It's an Avid S6 digital console
Oh my god I have to rob a bank to get all these lol!
Is this the final boss
holy shit
the "sleeper" preamp is over a thousand bucks per channel lol ok
Venho do SilasCF o/
And then we play the music on our mobile phone at 128bit mp3
Andrew is it just me or have you been wearing the same clothes for the last two years?
1 mic ))
It's frustrating that Sweetwater uses gear that they don't sell lol
Gotta get back to the living rooms... These studies don't have soul
You should invite Andrew to do a tour of your studio. Where can we see your studio? You need to show us all what "soul" looks like. 🤣
Get that stupid cup of coffee out of your hands.
müzik yapmak için bu kadar ekipman gereksiz, bende beş bin damarlık ekipman var inanın çıkan iş aynı....

His vibe is terrible
Tha studio engineer needs to get some exercise. He is breathing poorly. See a doctor
Should he come see you for your expertise as a physician?
