First vid I have found of yers Sifu !! Also THEE Best tutelage on steel ring I have heard..only been WC /JKD about 9 yrs time broken up... but almost 40 yrs total from traditional etc. Have been mostly JKD...but am trying to get more of the parent style. Well done sir. Ty. I have not searched your vid library yet, but will binge prob this weekend. Would love to see more on footwork and kata application... peace and God Bless.. Mac in Maine
Your techniques seem to have very circular motions for punches which comes from a martial art which says to align to the concept of "the fastest path between two points is a straight line" Just seems to me the iron ring is a gimmick for practitioners back in ancient China who just couldn't get the motions correct or separated their hands too far when conducting the motions. My lineage of Wing Chun doesn't use iron rings, never seen them before in use outside of other southern styles like Hung gar.
The circle is the next level after the line. There is such a thing as being too linear which often gets practitioners in trouble. Thinking 2d is a result of this. It can make one unaware of how to combat one who has really mastered the circle. If the center line were the superior method wing Chun would dominate all other arts but it doesn’t. In fact using wing Chun outside of its environment will get one destroyed. You have much too learn grasshopper
@@blackdragonkung-futv529I like what you are doing. It is useful for training. If someone does not agree after 30 yrs. Then don't do it. After 30 yrs. You can find something or turn it into something that you can use. If you can't do that , then you might not be trained very well. Like the man says ...Absorb what is useful. Just pay attention and find it.
If you have done this for 30 yrs. And can't find anything in this video useful, then you might not have been paying attention in class. Someone who has 5 yrs .or so then you might not get it. But 30 yrs. You should be able to turn anything into something you can use. Think about it.
