Another beautiful video, thank you for that ! I was planning to stay at Ginzan Onsen for 2 nights on our trip next March. But after I saw several videos by japanese vloggers, and saw the many day visitors, and the vloggers commented that there are too many people visiting and it is unpleasant, I was totally put off by it. So instead, we will stay at ryugon, which you have also reviewed.
There is not much to do in Ginzan, it is one of the smaller onsen towns. There is only the main street that every youtuber shows. At the end of the street, there is a bend that leads to some small shops and a waterfall. As Ginzan is nestled in the mountains and has no other activities, I agree with your decision to stay for 2 nights elsewhere.
Many thanks for your comments. I agree Ginzan onsen is not the place which attracts all people who loves trip. In day time, there are many tourists and narrow corridor is much crowded. Also now here is super-popular and quality and accommodation fee are not great and enocomical actually. But I think this mood and view is unrevaled. In night time its quiet and you can dominate this special view. Day-trip to Ginzan onsen is not pleasant actually I feel but I am recommending to stay there (only 1 night is enough) for future.
@@Documentrip2 I guess you are right and I would like to go there one day. But there was one Ryokan that I really wanted to visit there and stay there for two nights. I contacted them first about 6 months ago. They told me that they didnt accept reservations untill September 1st at a certain time. I contacted them than, and they were already booked out for the whole of March 2025 ??? I think, that this is not possible, and they probably just dont want foreigners to stay there. Which is their right, I would just have prefered that they told me that honestly, instead of letting me wait for nothing for 6 months. I understand that we foreigners are maybe not always welcome in Japan, because we might do things wrong, dont speak Japanese, dont respect the local culture etc. But still, I am sad that this happened. Even though I dont speak Japanese, I know a lot about Japan, and I try my best, not to do anything wrong. I am very careful to fully respect the Japanese culture, and I am not an idiot without any respect or consideration for local culture. And I dont like racism at all, which was probably the case here. But well, its okay, because we will stay at ryugon instead, and to be honest, I have a much better feeling about it. And there is no racism against non Japanese people there.
Sorry to hear that. One thing I want to share that recently most of ryokans are really sufferred by lack of manpower and labor to coordinate even for Japanese people. Young generation don't want to stay local areas and come to big city and manpower at local area is key issues everywhere. I am taking videos and always to have a talk with person of ryokan, they always say they are struggling to secure enough manpower to keep operation. Besides that, most of Japanese people cannot speak English and they are also struggling to take care of foreign tourists. I'm sure that such tourists dont care even any staff cannot speak English perfectly, but I know their policy is to coorfinate guests perfectly. Thats the reason why most of ryokans recently have difficulties how to coordinate them (Most of Japanese at local area cannot speak any word of English). I am not sure exact reason why you faced such situation. I know that its really difficult to make booking at some popular ryokan at Ginzan Onsen even just after booking opens. But I can say most of Japanese dont have any racism and confident that they dont reject your booking by that reasons. FYI, this winter I will go to Kyushu, At one ryokan, I couldn't make booking, I just tried it after booking opens though. Now Japan is getting top tourist destination and it happens even for me. I hope it happened just by that reason.
@@Documentrip2 I agree on the increased tourism, for example Tsuruno yu can be booked out for the whole month on the day reservations open. Also Kyushu is very popular during new year time, hotels become very difficult.
Another good video. Would be better if 1. When you said the sound of the river, to have some audio of the flowing river, 2. to show more than just the main street. Behind the corner there are some smaller ryokans and a waterfall.
Really, you complain ? This man is spending up to 8 hours to prepare a free video for us, which only a 100 people or so will watch, and maybe just 2 people will comment on. And still, you dare to complain ? Thats absulotely disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourself.
@@swissfoodie3542 Not so much a complain but a suggestion. Up to the man to decide if he wants to take it up. His videos are of very good quality, if he agrees with my suggestions, then it may make things better for future videos. Naturally, this is only one commentor's view and he has his right to agree or disagree with them. Even if he does not agree, due to the amazing video quality I will still watch his future videos.

Many thanks for your comments and I know its not complaint, suggession. Actually your suggestion on 1. river sounds is really right and I have considered to do it in the past. Here is the video which I tried to put sounds and you can hear. ruclips.net/video/cWBskMHONwU/видео.html After I made this video, realized that volume of water sounds is bit difficult to control and thereafter I stop to do it. There are many videos which is really low volume or without music, and then, such sounds, water, birds tweeting etc are really effective to make the mood better. Please let me think about it for future! 2. Yes, there are waterfall behind the corner and old mine, I took videos but due to some limitation of music, I just gave up and couldnt put it in my video. My style is to synclonize music and vidoes and sometimes it happens. Will try to show more for future! Suggession is not selfish and really valuable! It inspires my motivation and great reference to make it better.
Beautiful video!! I am also planning to stay at Ginzan onsen in Feb next year! We were lucky to be able to book one night. Do you know where we can rent car in this area? I understand that it can be quite difficult to travel there by public bus so I think the best way is to rent car but i also read that parking might be very limited there? Or maybe you can give a better advice. We have 3 days to spend in Yamagata. Where would you recommend to visit and stay. Thank you :)
Thanks a lot for your comment and you are lucky to have reservation in winter there. I'm not sure which inn you book, but normally each inn have parkinng facility at the entrance of Ginzan onsen village. You should check it with inn in advance (day trip parking is sometimes too much crowded but each inn has parking). Generally rent a car should be booked at the airport or railway station. In Yamagata, there are many attractive place inns and it depends on your budget and preference. My recommendation is as below nearby Ginzan onsen 1. Yamagataza Takinami (1.5hours from Ginzan onsen by car) 2. Tendo so (1 hour from Ginzan onsen) 3. Hijiori Onsen Village (there are some ryokans, 1 hour from Ginzan onsen)
Just checked website and Fujiya ryokan has parking lot at entrance of onsen village (from parking lot, almost 10 min on foot). Website says once you reach there, you should call them and they will send shuttle. Fujiya is the one I want to stay for future, enjoy!
