I reckon Chen si would suit the role more after seeing him in Beijing prince. Chen si fits the 9th master role. Domineering. Can't wait to see Wang yiran version.

Which version didn't u watch? Its my 3rd. But 2nd one had more unknown actors. I like that till this one. Both male leads acted differently. 2nd was more domineering. Wang yiran was more humorous at times.

Omg! I like this adaptation of the drama! Thank you so so much for the video for us to watch. All cast did amazingly I reckon. Lead had great chemistry too. No fake kissing as well. Wang yiran did an amazing job! He could act domineering as well as placid too. I love. Female lead also play a strong role too. The 1:05:11 I reckon was totally unscripted. The leads was having so much fun! I love that scene. Definitely worth staying up till 2am watching it.
Great drama - loved ML! He was so loyal and devoted. He's always afraid she's going to dump him. I did feel some pity for SML at the end. There's no excuse for his desire to hurt and humiliate FL in the beginning - even if what he claimed she did actually happened, you still don't treat people that way - but he was victim of their dads' plot as much as FL was. But in the end he decided to be noble and help her avenge their mothers as well as give up his claim on her. You'd never see a SFL do that in these C-dramas! 😏 Apparently, only men in China have the capability of being noble - if you believe these dramas.

This is the 2nd version of the plot. They made the development between FL and ML a little too fast for me and the way they revealed that FL isn't the reason why 2ML's mom died quite too early. They decided to added more conflicts but due to limited time it wasn't really given justice. So far this verison is ok, bareable but I still prefer the og version
I was also going to say that too. 1st time they talked I didn't understand. But 2nd scene where Wang yiran used Cantonese I could pick up it's Cantonese. But not the way my mum (Malaysian) speak it either. Just a different type of dialect of mandarin, I guess.
@93cheelyn that would also make sense. I'm a Chinese myself but originally from Singapore now living in New Zealand since 1998, at home with my own parents I speak English, so not fluent myself. So when I do speak mandarin, China people know I'm not from china as my pronunciation isn't right. Haha!
