You’ve got to be one of the most inspiring photographers out there, likability ✅ inspirational ✅ enthusiastic ✅ you really do tick every box mate. Always something to learn from you, such an honest chap , what’s not to like. Love following your photography journey. Top notch and when this advent series is done, I hope you have a well earned rest. I’m sure I echo so many of your followers. You have knocked it out of the park 👌🏻
I still watch Gavin Hardcastle, Nigel Danson and Thomas Heaton as I have done for years for different reasons and learned much but Henry gives me everything I need and can relate to in one click. Fast becoming the best photogaphy channel for me. The section on the dehaze tool on the sky is what I've done too and this makes me almost like i know what I'm doing.
We've had no sign of winter here in Northern Michigan. usually we have snow up to our asses by now. But, we've had nothing but muddy, flat, completely unappealing conditions. Watching this series, seeing you work through less than ideal conditions while maintaining your high spirits, good humor, and not loosing inspiration has been a good thing to see, and has offered the shot in the arm that I've needed to get moving. Thanks.
I woke up this morning having planned to go out, then saw the sky looked heavy with flat cloud and thought I couldn’t be bothered. Happened to watch this video with a coffee and then was inspired to go out after all. As it happened the clouds cleared as the sun rose and we got some lovely light that I would have missed without watching your video! So thank you!! #inspiration
It's been a great series. I don't know how you can keep producing them daily, I can't even keep up with watching them daily! Hopefully, I'll catch up over the holiday. :-) My tip for dull days is switch to B&W, not only does it let you focus on tone and texture but you can push things like dehaze and clarity and texture much further with B&W than you can in colour!
Keep going Henry! Nice video again. One of your strengths in my view is not going with the received wisdom that ‘if it’s not the golden hour or the light’s not right there isn’t a photo worth taking. Keeps me watching!
That first image of the rock pool with the falls in the background is the strongest for me. I'd have bene happy to take that one home. Seasons greetings Henry
Capturing and processing drama in the sky is definitely one of your signature elements Henry as you have this knack of getting the best out of your images even on the dullest of days. Hard to believe there are only 3 days to go as the time has flown in from this end (not sure how you feel about it your end 🙂)
Fully agree. I think his skies are like his signature on an image. I have got one of his "Three Sisters" prints framed and up on my wall and the clouds and atmospheric skies above the mountains are stunning.
A great location Henry..because of the dull, wet conditions the beach had a mystical atmosphere...I'm thoroughly enjoying all your advent videos...many thanks and very best wishes.
Great time enjoying this adventure with you Henry! Thanks for letting us all follow along! Really appreciate this series and hope you're inspired to do it again sometime! Cheers!
Subscribed since the little red Micra - dont get to watch all your videos but when I do, it is always a pleasure so experience (watch simply does not cover it) the energy and passion you put into this. Dull days are indeed a great excuse to not go out and get some pictures, here is hoping this video and 2024 will change that :-)
Another cracking vlog Henry. I think the 'thing' in the background was Goonhilly Earth Station, Goonhilly Downs, Helston TR12 6LQ - if that was roughly where in Cornwall you were.
Something I'd love for these videos is where you put the focus point, maybe together with the f-stop/iso etc :) Love the content mate, your enthusiasm is great
You have some stamina Henry, good on you 👍 I love seascapes but it’s often difficult to get a balanced image, you usually have land on one side and sea on another. Of all the so called rules in photography, the one I like to try and abide by is balance, quite often the only way I can find around avoiding dead space is to include drama in the sky, nice light or wildlife (birds) in that area. That is never easy on dull, overcast days. Getting composition right in seascapes compared to landscapes is always challenging I find 🤔
Another great video 👌I had my first every landscape trip, 3 days on Hadrian's Wall back in October, 2 flat grey the third bright sunlight. Thankfully I managed to work out the Lightroom tricks to make something of the flat skies, so seeing this I know I was doing something right 😁
Love your enthusiasm, Henry. It reminds me of why I love getting out there in nature and taking photos. 👍 PS. I love Cornwall. The satellite dish looks like Goonhilly Downs to me.
Henry, I have been really enjoying your Advent series. Thank you for thinking of it. I have been out of action for several months and this series if keeping my mind flowing with ideas to try when I am able to get back out there. Your videos are refreshingly honest and obviously from the heart. That makes them even better. Merry Christmas to you and your family, and a Happy and Healthy New Year too.
What a skill you have in being able to get an image from what could seem just an ordinary day. Must be either years of practice or natural talent or both. Always a pleasure to watch you at work and great to see how you get what i call the Henry Turner skies, thanks for sharing those tips and hope you found a pub with a good pint.
Just found your channel... Not fired off a shot since lockdown started and looking for my mojo again. Great tip on the dehaze slider man.. I discovered that when I was doing local gig photography (around Newcastle) and it was a game changer in my work flow. It found it's way in to everything after that haha... I love drama though and I love a well cooked landscape image. My photography isn't a real life representation... I process (landscapes) more around my own mood if that makes sense
Thank you once again Henry. I went out with my camera in the flat grey light this morning as a direct result of your recent videos. Even started thinking “Now what would Henry do here”!
Henry, that landscape is awesome. Thanks for taking us there. I am overwhelmed! And as usual your sincere and fantastic enthusiasm is infectious. Thanks for the best photography videos in RUclips!
Your so truly an inspiration for me and I learn so much from you. Truly appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experiences. Thanks from across the pond! Ed
Just the video i needed to see Henry. I've some time off work now and really hoping to get out with the camera. It's been so difficult with a new baby in the house and running around like a maniac and with constant grey skies, wind and rain ahead, i really have to make the most of it.
Cheers Henry, thoroughly enjoying the trip with you over the last month, it's been very interesting and rewarding. I love the shots from your drone as well (I'm very tempted by them the more I see them being used).😀 All the best from Geordieland.🍷
I have watched all of your Advent series and enjoyed them all immensely. However, this one has been the most inspiring in reminding me that even dull days offer great opportunities for photography. Thanks Henry 🙂
Some very fine images today, Henry! At this moment you're likely embarking on your next adventure ENJOY, I know we all are as well. I'm stuck at home, studio days only for me as I work on getting an exhibit ready for February UGH! Haven't even sent out the files to White Wall yet!
I have been watching your videos in the morning over breakfast here in the South Island of New Zealand. It is so good to start the day off with your cheerful and enthusiastic series of videos with their wonderful imagery and great tips. Thank you 😊
As always Henry another great episode full of energy and enthusiasm .. good helpful tips for those needing help to find their inspiration and get them all motivated . Not many good pro photographers are truly willing to share their workflow and editing techniques much . I always say “ if you not willing to get up early and get out with your camera you not going to achieve anything “ . Brave the conditions and embrace them for you may just be pleasantly surprised and capture something amazing ! And if you don’t then it doesn’t matter as you gained some more experience , more importantly you were seeing nature for it’s beauty be it bad weather or not ! It’s that journey we often talk about that’s more important ! Thanks again Henry for everything , stay well ! Cheers
Henry, It been a pleasure watching your Advent series. Thanks again for producing. A couple of things... 1) Didn't get a great look, but to me the thing in the distance looked like a radio telescope. 2) In Lightroom, I've found after creating a Sky mask, pulling way down the blacks and then going to the mask's curve adjustment and creating a 'c' curve that pulls down the midtones works pretty well - I might need to slightly increase the exposure afterward or the sky looks too dark. I generally don't need to bother with d-haze then. 3) Finally, if I really want to bring out the texture in the sky, I go over into photoshop and: a) create a sky mask b) Use the TK Plugin to create a curve adjustment against the mask c) Then again with that layer and using TK, set it up with a blend-if using midtones 1, 2, or 3 d) Set the blend mode to multiply on that layer to really burn in those details. Number 3 does sound scary or complicated, but once you get the hang of it, it is actually just a few button clicks. Anyway, keep up the great work.
Another great video, I literally learn something in every video that you do. Really enjoyed this advent series. Looked like this was Sandymouth bay and the dish is GCHQ Bude
Another great & interesting video Henry.... enjoyed the results as I think they capture the mood... seascapes are always welcome & interesting... cheers from Australia 🦘🦘😊
I'm wondering if the Dish was part of the U.K. Radio Telescope system. The whole network is named Merlin. Imagine that. It certainly is large enough. Great video with the subject matter and the little editing tips there. The waterfall area did have an unearthly type of look to it. I probably watch too much Dr. Who. Although actual astronomy is another one of my hobbies, which made me wonder if it was a radio telescope. Absolutely massive on that hill. Fun video.
Absolutely loving this series. In these conditions I think I would have been on my third pint by the time you got to the pub but you show how well you can find a shot out of what I would consider nothing. I particularly liked how you pulled detail out of the sky in Lightroom. Reducing the blue after dehaze made such a huge difference. The pic at 13 minutes was beautiful. Thank you so much for the inspiration you give me.
thank you Henry for all the hard work and effort making your videos .Looking forward to your next adventure .Wishing you all the best for Christmas and the New Year .Take some well earned time off
Thanks for sharing that really useful editing tip Henry! Thanks again for sharing another of your excellent adventures too. I recommend the White Cliffs of The Seven Sisters for another fun challenge.
Any ducks in the pool? The cliff face between those two waterfalls is immense. You should done an abstract image? 55mph winds up here, so your viewers are bound to be 'blown away' by today's Advent vlog.
Hi Henry, another grand day out thanks for sharing. You surely made the most of the conditions, some really good images there and stong subjects ... regarding the dish down the coastline, if you were in the triangle of Helston, Falmouth and the Lizard it is likely you saw the Goonhilly Earth Station. Keep up the good work, only a few days to go now on the Advent series.
Great video. Nice to see what can be done on those gray days without "perfect light." Looking forward to trying some of your Lightroom tips for those "boring" light days.
Thank you Henry for another great video. The Dehaze tool in Lightroom is a very useful tool but as you say, one has to be careful if overused. On a bleak day such as you had, perhaps some intimate shots of seashells in the sand?
Good tips Henry, thanks. I've never tried using a linear gradient on top of the sky mask, so now I will have a play. Great set of shots, my favourite was from the drone. Despite my wife's misgivings about me being in charge of a drone, I think it's going to happen! I know Cornwall quite well, but I didn't recognise that beach, where was it please?
Thanks for yet another interesting video Henry, thanks for all your efforts during this series. Ive learned a lot, and you've given me lots to think about . Have a great Christmas and successful new year.

I enjoyed the video as usual Henry. Where were your wellies to save getting your feet wet. A very helpful tip in your editing process. Great image's as usual.
Absolutely fantastic video as ever Henry, just one small point, you spoke about texture and shapes a lot but didn't seem to make much of the geology of the cliffs around the two waterfalls. For me, looking at the scene I was struck by the bedding plane of the rocks at about 45 degrees while the waterfalls fell vertically, this seemed to make a nice contrast between the hard, unyielding rock at one angle and the fluid fall of the water at another. I also couldn't quite work out where on the Corish coast you were, but if you get to Millook Haven, the cliffs there are folded into a stunning set of zigzags that you might like to take a look at.
Hi Henry well that's gone quick I have been loving the advent series, it's been great sat with a beer every nite Cheers!.. by the way. 🍻You have given me some great idea's to thanks for taking me on your journey in photography I really needed it for my well being at this time of year. 👍

Im gonna miss the Advent series, was really nice having something to watch every evening.
Your enthusiasm is a very welcome counterpoint to the usual misery on display!

Great tips Henry, I'm thoroughly enjoying this advent series. 😊 Thank you for all your hard work.
Wow, that image at 13:05 is stunning! Usually black and white photography is not my favourite, but this image is just amazing!
I love the north Cornwall coast. The textures in the rocks are fascinating.
That guy runs so fast on beach towards end. Great video again, thank you. ❤
Finally got a chance to watch the last of the series and have missed the positive videos and the inspiration. Thanks Henry.
I am going to truly miss this daily videos when they come to an end. I look forward to your video every day. BRAVO!
Satelitte dish is known as Cleave Camp "GCHQ Bude"
The leading line wave photo stood out for me, cracking shot!
Nice editing tips there.
Another nice place. Those little waterfalls were right cool.
Capturing and processing drama in the sky is definitely one of your signature elements Henry as you have this knack of getting the best out of your images even on the dullest of days. Brill mate. Haven’t walked beyond the seal 🦭 beach before. Great to see a different perspective of the lighthouse !
I’m going to miss seeing your videos everyday . They’ve been really wonderful , loved all of them!
The slog is almost over 😅. Bringing memories of Cornwall. Really enjoyed the advent series. Good tips, laughter and a down to earth northern bloke 👍
Such an important topic...loved the waterfall drone shot and the mini tutorial on sky drama!
Great time enjoying this adventure with you Henry! Thanks for letting us all follow along! Really appreciate this series and hope you're inspired to do it again sometime! Cheers!
Great video. Cornwall was just added to me "must visit with camera" locations.
Loved the Lightroom intermezzo ... I hope you found a good pub ! Kind regards, Guy.
The guy running with his dog behind you would have been a great shot at maybe 1/100th speed and panning. 😮
Subscribed since the little red Micra - dont get to watch all your videos but when I do, it is always a pleasure so experience (watch simply does not cover it) the energy and passion you put into this.

I think the satellite dish you can see is part GCHQ near Bude. Will you be doing a editing video in the new year?
Another great video, very informative and entertaining! Thanks for all the hard work you’ve put into this advent series.
The grey day adds to the deep colors in the rocks and greens. Beautiful. I’m enjoying your advent series!

Thanks once again Henry - love your enthusiasm and your professionalism
Not quite sure where you are in Cornwall mate...thought it was Bedruthan Steps...?
Thank you for making December so enjoyable. For other reasons this month has been a challenge - your daily videos have been fantastic.
Love your enthusiasm, Henry. It reminds me of why I love getting out there in nature and taking photos. 👍
PS. I love Cornwall. The satellite dish looks like Goonhilly Downs to me.

I have been watching your videos in the morning over breakfast here in the South Island of New Zealand. It is so good to start the day off with your cheerful and enthusiastic series of videos with their wonderful imagery and great tips. Thank you 😊
Another great video Henry. Super images and great tips, especially darkening the sky.
Thanks Henry, as always informative and that beach location looks superb
Henry, thanks for that. Keep going, you're doing great I'm looking forward every day to your post😊 m

Liked the B&W shot very much. Where in Cornwall were you,, if you were near Bude/Morwenstow the satellite dishes were from GCHQ Morwenstow
Another great & interesting video Henry.... enjoyed the results as I think they capture the mood... seascapes are always welcome & interesting... cheers from Australia 🦘🦘😊
Henry, you are working very hard and your optimism is contagious! Thank you!

GCHQ listening post ! Your on the northern Atlantic side of cornwall/ Devon

thank you Henry for all the hard work and effort making your videos .Looking forward to your next adventure .Wishing you all the best for Christmas and the New Year .Take some well earned time off
Here’s a challenge Henry, try Nottinghamshire in this uninspiring dull Winter, as I’m really struggling.
Absolutely great vlog Henry. The stream across the empty beach and the atmospheric sky on the horizon is epic in my books, nice one pal!
Great series H, hope you and yours have a great holiday season.
Great video. Nice to see what can be done on those gray days without "perfect light." Looking forward to trying some of your Lightroom tips for those "boring" light days.
Great tips. Always grey and cloudy here.
Great video as always. Going to miss the daily videos.
Great video - All best wishes Henry - loving the series.
Thank you Henry for another great video. The Dehaze tool in Lightroom is a very useful tool but as you say, one has to be careful if overused. On a bleak day such as you had, perhaps some intimate shots of seashells in the sand?
GCHQ Bude, pretty hot on drones in the area 😂
Thanks Henry! What do you think for the sky you use a linear gradient and decrease the whites but darken the shadows?
Good tips Henry, thanks. I've never tried using a linear gradient on top of the sky mask, so now I will have a play. Great set of shots, my favourite was from the drone. Despite my wife's misgivings about me being in charge of a drone, I think it's going to happen!
I know Cornwall quite well, but I didn't recognise that beach, where was it please?
Sandy mouth mate
Thanks for yet another interesting video Henry, thanks for all your efforts during this series. Ive learned a lot, and you've given me lots to think about . Have a great Christmas and successful new year.
Henry, great to see these vlogs and the content.
For everyone, always check tide times, that can enable a good opportunity for super low (or high) tides, and also ensure that you aren't caught out by an incoming tide.
Many have been caught out with tragic consequences.
More great tips thanks Henry. Cannot believe how fast this series is going!! You have covered a good few miles!! Take care. Graham
I enjoyed the video as usual Henry.
Where were your wellies to save getting your feet wet.
A very helpful tip in your editing process.
Great image's as usual.
Thanks! I do need some haha
👍🏻 on the Advent season videos! So glad I found your channel!! Great content. Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you! You too!
It’s not only dull days I get wrong!😩😂But I’m learning, some great tips as always 👍
Another great vid Henry 👍🏽 Question is how often will you do videos after the advent series sadly finishes ? Hope you found that pub for a beer 🍻
Really enjoying this Advent series. Would be interested to know in how many miles you've racked up in the Blue Jay by the time you're done.
Thanks, Henry. I'm really enjoying your advent series - some more great tips in this episode 😊
Love the passion.

Brilliant advice for a dull day and how to get the best of bland conditions, post production with the right tools is bonus particularly as most of the information is captured unless it's going straight to JPEG in camera (its still possible to lift the image as jpeg, but not to the same extent)
You mentioned the Topaz software in a previous video, I downloaded it at the beginning of the year but haven't used it yet, just wondering if you have any thoughts about it.
Hope storm Pia isn't affecting you.
Great video Henry and great tips lovely photos again enjoying the advent series so much 😊
Cheers Henry another good video and informative as always enjoy the conditions grey and flat but still a good watch cheers again Henry 👍🏻
A long way from home, eh Henry, but excellent series, tips and shots, as per. Have a great one when it comes and cheers 🎄👍🥂
