what an insane run with so many close call-run ending mistakes that could be made. Like declaring on portugal and barely making the invasion in time. I've never seen Ethiopia with a naval fleet, much less an actual naval power to say the least.
0:48 now when italy annexes aussa, they gain 2 units that spawn directly on the aussan capital which makes it almost impossible to quickly take it unless you get lucky with dumb ai

I did my best to follow your strategy sejozwak, but the rng screwed me over hard. I pushed Italy out of East Africa by March ‘38, inflicting 450k casualties to my 187k, then Mussolini decided to be a jerk and refuse Fait Accompli so the war just kept going (it’s absurd that Italy isn’t hardcoded to end the war if they’re pushed off the continent once Libya begins their rebellion too), and eventually Germany got involved so I wasn’t able to purchase their ships to invade Portugal (plus declaring on them would bring them into the Axis) 😫

Worked like... didn't. 8 attempts so far. There's no way in current update to even fathom to use this guide as genuine. You really should bring it up with a heavy hand, on which update you did do this. In current update the Italy always spawns 2+ units in Aussa - for example - there's no way the poor Ethiopian units can break those standing units.
Get military access, set a garrison order everywhere with 1 infantry battalion divisions and then declare war on someone in their faction who you are not garrisoning (otherwise it doesn't let you declare)

i find the ai just never pushes from that tile so i dont ever bother defending it

I tried to replicate this. I don't understand how you defeated italy so easily. You must have gotten very lucky encircling them, I simply cant do it.
