Late season snow hit parts of the Washington Cascades. Stevens Pass had a few inches of new snow and more at the higher elevations. Snow levels in some areas dropped down to 2000’. It’s a beautiful scene nonetheless and it’s good news for the local streams and rivers as the northwest typically doesn’t see late snowfall as much.
Looks nicer than the dust storm we had in Vegas.
This was cool to see .
I live in Arizona it was 95 degrees today.
I recently started to have rain videos on YT to counteract the heat and dry of AZ.
I am halfway between Seattle and Tacoma and east towards the Cascade Foothills. Today (May 8th) was the first sunny day we have had, but the temperatures are in the low 50s. I can totally understand that it is cold enough to snow at Stevens. Snoqualmie is clear but cold.
Beautiful snow.
Beautiful !
In western U.S. it is on record of snowing every month of the year in the higher elevations. Like above 11,000 elevation of 14,000 elevation peaks in Colorado, Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, like this video scene in Washington or British Columbia, and on Beartooth Pass the state borders of Wyoming and Montana on U.S. Highway 212. Once in awhile even Summit County, Colorado that has towns of Breckinridge, Dillon, and Frisco this happened. I understand it that people live in these mountain towns tell hikers, or backpackers that the possibility of snowfall in the higher elevations overnight. That's why when you do this activity you have to be prepared for that possibility of overnight snowfall.
I drove Beartooth Pass a few summers ago from Cooke City to the Montana border. Middle of summer and there was still snow on the peaks and in spots on the side of the road. What a fantastic experience.
@@JimAllen-Persona, here's three RUclips videos for you to look at. First one was probably a snowy previous winter of 2010-2011. The second one filmed by a American living in Japan of the Snow Wall. The third is Japan's snowplowing crews clearing snow on this route to a lodge.

The pinkish glow is the sunrise to the east being gradually covered by approaching clouds.
2. Massive Snow Wall Walk: Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route
WAO RYU! Only in Japan
The wall was and maybe still is the record height of this wall. NINETEEN METERS HIGH = SIXTY TWO FEET HIGH! This heavy snow results because storms come from southeastern China traveling to the northeast to Japan over the Sea of Japan. It's NORMAL for those folks to get 7/8 FEET of snow in two days.

What was impressive about this was the fact that the snow level was at(still is at actually) 2500 feet , and currently dipping under that value as we speak
@@exmichigansnowskier2150 I’ve seen the train snow plow removal videos (fascinating the difference between the rotary and the conventional plow as well as the ones where the sides open out) as well the piles of snow - my in-laws have a picture of themselves at Glacier NP (I think) midsummer with them standing in a 35ft snowfall that a path and parking lot have been carved out of. Part of me would love to live in the PNW or even a place like Truckee but I’ve dealt with East Coast winters enough to know I’d get tired of it real fast, plus it’s insanely expensive. Look at real estate prices in Jackson or near Park City.
So beautiful
That looked so beautiful!
