    Have you considered making an add-on piece that can extend the topper out over the dropped tailgate, similar to a truck bed tent? it would seem that something that attaches to the to and sides with velcro could work for this purpose, since it seems that most customers are using these for camping. Thoughts?

    • @TimPaddy
      @TimPaddy 3 месяца назад

      I think this product goes from good to great if they make the hatch inflated as well (like the ridgid glass on a traditional topper). The partial tents like you describe would work great this way, I did it with my softopper and a simple homemade PVC prop.

    I like the independent air valves. I'm sold. (Of course when I get that new Ram Rampage /Dakota. Question have y'all thought about a inflatable tonneau cover? Off how about a Velcro rechargeable LED cap light for at night. Maybe one in back one in front. Or side to side. Or even wire connect two lights.

    • @FLATED
      @FLATED  Год назад

      We have some ideas and Concepts for a Tonneau cover. We have some options for lights and are testing one that is wired in now. Thanks for the concept.

    Would like to see one that extended over the cab. Looking for a lightweight topper that does that. In the case of the "Flated," I could see having 2 stages of inflation, where the top stays down while driving, but you can open up the full top by inflating the 2nd stage.
    Everyone with the over-cab feature makes theirs too heavy, with features I don't want or need. I just need the shell. I can figure out the rest with existing gear I already own.

    • @TimPaddy
      @TimPaddy 3 месяца назад

      On the surface it sounds a little crazy, but I think you're right. I'm amazed how rigid these are when inflated. I bet they could make one, I'm just not sure on the market for one. Heck, it could be two separate modules that Velcro together

    Good instructions and suggestions for installation. First thing I noticed though is no rain flaps on the bottom edges of both left and right sides where it meets the top of the walls of the truck bed, curious how a stronger crosswind with rain test will it be able to refuse water intrusion, a water hose test on the side perhaps

      Just noticing we had a bunch of unanswered questions here. Actually our newest versions have a flap that we are calling the Rain skirt. Can see this on our video introduction to the cap.

    • @FLATED
      @FLATED  9 месяцев назад +1

      We have tried too keep up with all the questions and comments, just gets overwhelming between all the platforms. The first few generations of our Toppers had some areas where some custom (weather stripping) was required to seal off the rails, but we have always had an EVA foam strip that honestly keeps 95%+ of the water out. Almost all toppers/ Tonneau covers can leak without some extra weather stripping. But checkout our latest caps, they have a built in rain skirt.

    Don't rush... got mine today... Sept 17, 2024. must be the previous version. Only two chambers, guess they are selling and shipping the older version until they have depleted the old stock. I'm disappointed that it isn't as advertised. Assume the 2 chamber they sent me isn't as good as the 4 chamber that they now say is the improved version. Cost me a fortune to return so just stuck

    • @FLATED
      @FLATED  24 дня назад

      Hi Mark, you must have ordered the CAP rather than the Mid-Rise. The CAP (2x chambers), sits flush with the cab of your truck and the Mid-Rise has bump up (4x chambers). All of current inventory that we've been shipping for the past 2 months is the current generation so thats the only thing that makes sense. I hope you like it if but you had your heart set on the Mid-Rise please reach out to our customer service at flated.com.

    I question the actual water proofness of this thing. They seem to leave us on our own for fully water proofing it.

    • @FLATED
      @FLATED  10 месяцев назад

      The materials are 100% waterproof so no need to waterproof any seams. On some truck models and depending on your bed/ if you have anything on the bed rails sometimes some extra weather stripping is needed... Just like any topper or tonneau cover.

    • @tdematties
      @tdematties 10 месяцев назад

      WHy do you guys not offer some how too's or some additional products to make this water proof depending on the model? Your videos dodge the waterproof question. WHy not answer it and give us the knowledge to make these things water proof. The biggest thing holding me back with this product is the fact that the waterproofness is just left to us. @@FLATED
