The best way to start investing in equity is by investing only some money that you don't need and then continuing with the same regularly. Once you start seeing some returns you get more interested and then you can plan your goals. This is how I am staying invested in the last 14 years.

Thank You Sir, like reliance, many great stocks Asian paints, Bajaj twins, HDFC Bank, D Mart even HUL currently not performing well. Exit is really tough call for a normal investor.
Actually I am in this trap...hold blue chips for last 25-30 years ....shares acquired in 2 digits and now at 4 digits (Asian Paints/LT/Pidilite/HDFC etc) .....did wonderfully well till 2021....and have completely slowed down. Hard decisions to be taken .
After reading books from Mark Minerveni, I exit any stock that goes down more than 10%. Some exceptions will be there if I find some technical support point close by. I even have this exit strategy in stocks that underperform even within momentum strategies.
Hi Alok, I indeed found this edifying! But I have a radically different, personal approach to investing! I buy a small stake in a business, I understand and then at a valuation which ensures that of I buy it at say 100 Rs. I het my money back, inflation adjusted, in say 10-15 years! Then I feel its virtually free for me! Of course, this calls for original thought and amazing patience but I imagine I own the business so things are slightly easy! But your Contra thpughts have spurred me to spare 5% of my folio towards building a credible system to capture momentum! Of course, momentum definition is personal but I'm looking to arrive at a system which allows me to take buy/sell calls only say every.6 months so I'm searching for credible short term momentum ( mv!) lets see! 😊

Thank ypu sir for the video..With the S&P 500 delivering over 20% annual returns compared to Nifty's 12%, it's clear why FIIs are favoring the U.S. market. Add to that Trump's proposed tax cuts boosting corporate profits and economic growth, and it's a no-brainer. Expect more FII outflows this year as the U.S. remains the more attractive investment destination. I will not be surprised if nifty ends up in negative territory this year in dollar terms return..
