There wasn't much to notice. The tail/sign prop was mostly out of view before her punchline, and could have articulated the same movement on a real possum hybrid (assuming such a hybrid could have a prehensile tail).
The Jeff Sessions tail is the best prop used in a sketch in a long time, it kills me

Let there be no doubt: it was the rich who made tax complicated in the first place by lobbying to add hundreds of exemptions and deductions for items that are not even needs, they are luxuries. (e.g. buying a yacht or a horse are deductions!)
And let there also be no doubt: when they talk about wanting to 'simplify' the tax code, what they meant is that they want to lower the base tax rate for the rich... and STILL keep those same deductions, so their effective tax rates becomes lower than their lowest paid employee!

is there a situation where you can legally prove that it's impossible for someone to "not recall" something? such as journals or other evidence of that person writing down what happened? i feel like by sessions saying he doesn't remember anything pretty much makes him immune from possibly being charged with lying under oath in the future, which i understand is the point but... seems like a shitty loophole.
He testified adamantly that he had "no contact" with any Russians or knowledge of anyone on the campaign with Russian contacts. Photo evidence has come to light that contradicts his testimony that he now cannot recall. He is either lying his ass off or is incompetent in the responsibilities he had in Trump's campaign. Now he is the A.G., top law enforcer in the U.S.. So sad.
They can treat as a hostile witness, maybe hold him in contempt.

Let's be clear here. What Al Franken did was wrong. Period. The photo was totally out of line, and the skit was a form of harassment. But Franken called for a Senate investigation into his actions and immediately apologized. Franken has also sponosred and co-sponsored numerous pieces of legislation that empower women. If voters take him out of office, then so be it. That would be a completely understandable reaction. But STOP showing his photo next to Weinstein, O'Riely, Cosby and Roy Moore's photos. Franken's transgression was nothing equivalent to what those men did. Franken did not rape and/or physiclly injure women. He also did not lie about his actions and smear the integrity of his accuser. He did not systematically plan on how he'd corner dozens of women alone and assault them. He forcibly kissed and groped a single woman in front of an audience during a comedy skit. Wrong? Yes. The equivalent of Moore, Weinstein, and Cosby? No. Not by a long shot. And that difference needs to be understood.

They were a great team together. Senator Franken is very forthright about his past behavior and is willing to be judged by his fellow statesman.

I don't see that Franken actually touched the woman. I do NOT defend this kind of behavior at all, but to be honest, I think he just showed remarkably poor judgment and comedic insight. It just looks sophomoric and stupid, but, I do not see that his hands actually made contact. Legally, touching or physical contact are integral to the definition of sexual assault. However, in today's atmosphere and the court of public opinion, I doubt this would make an iota of difference. One of my favorite aphorisms is, "To a man with a hammer, everything is a nail." (Another favorite, "Only food runs." That's for you hunter/gatherers out there.) Bottom line, I think this is a serious business, which means we look with unflinching honesty. Above all, honesty.

Al Franken apologized profusely twice, his accuser accepted his apology, she wants him to stay in the senate, Al's wife has forgiven him, Al has welcomed a committee hearing, as opposed to these "deny everything" jerks Moore and Trump.
The law actually allows them to deny it. Under our system of jurisprudence we are innocent until proven guilty. Only Al Franken was stupid enough to take photographs of his crime. But for that, he would've denied it all.

That was a deceptive title, two sentences about Franken and the rest about Sessions and Trump. Why wasn't the title about the focus of the clip which was clearly Sessions? I get it, you want people to know that you actually mentioned Franken once. Maybe you could have mentioned how he was one of the first writers for SNL or his old videos for SNL. Weekend Update's all about a bunch of segments in succession, they can't list all the things they talk about in the title. They talked about the Franken thing for a while, too.
md, really? Hmmm, lets see did you count the time spent. 6:58 total runtime. at 24 seconds in they mention Franken, at 1:12 they talk about Trump. Less than a minute. They then turn to Piven and Moore. At 3:06 they turn it about Sessions, that goes on till 5:46. Tell me what you think the focus was? You can't list everything it the title so you usually list the focus of the clip. The title was misleading, simple fact. They didn't even mention that he was a founder of SNL.
Okay, maybe you're right that it wasn't the focus. I'll give you that. But they also made a second video with just the Sessions part, and they couldn't name both videos the same thing. Granted, I don't like that they upload Weekend Update parts multiple times, but that still explains why this video's title is different.
Also, Franken having been with SNL before doesn't have anything to do with the current news about him.
md, I think everyone can guess why they titled it as they did. They don't want to be accused of having said nothing; but, they made sure the focus wasn't him. When the Soviet Union was still a thing, people who were experts on media manipulation would teach us to spot such things. The techniques haven't changed. Every time someone is accused of sexual misconduct, it ends up becoming about Trump. That's fine; but, it is not an excuse for not holding people accountable or attempting to redirect.
