Hold abbv now for yrs, my top bio along with Pfe. Love the divs! MU, think soon to $150. Have been dca, since near $50 very volatile stock. LMT a bit high for me now, bought GD up 60% ytd.
ABBV has a bad z score, which means struggling financially. Abbv has an 11.75 debt to equity ratio. 😧 To put that in perspective net income last year was $5.08B and long term total debt of $71.32B. that is the worst d/e ratio I've seen. Debt is a company killer. Not investing.
Some people depend on the dividends for their income after they retire. Study shows that stock of dividend paying companies outperform non dividend paying companies in the long run because dividend paying companies are usually more stable with better cash flow. Off course there are always exceptions
For the income stream. Stocks don’t pay anything until you sell, if you sell for a profit. If you hold for less than a year, you pay higher taxes. Dividends pay, usually, whether the stock price goes up or down.

Interesting take but I definitely don't want pfe but it might surprise me.
I've held Pepsi for 2 years and I'm down 6%. It makes up 1.9% of my portfolio. I'm not increasing my holding in for a long time if ever.
Before watching I was going to ask for an update on Lily lol
Enjoyed the great analysis as always, especially MU.Thinking of adding a few more Shares this week.
My pleasure my friend! 😊

First comment! What's the point of dividends? They just come out of the stock price.
