You could take those spacers to a machine shop and have them level them up and take off about an 1/8 inch off the backside of the spacer where it mates to the hub. That little bit won't take away from your fitment, and it will give you a bit more clearance
Hey, that is a pretty good idea. I know the spacers are pretty thick, but the internal part that the lug nut bites on to is a relatively small amount of material. You think shaving that down would effect the structural integrity at all?
Hey, I did! That was the original goal when I swapped to the quadrasteer bed. It took a few months of research, trying to find drag wheels in 6x5.5 that also had matching tires for AWD, it was impossible. So I had them custom made. A set of one off forged drag wheels by 3030autosport, called legend 6. Fronts are 18x10 with 28x10.5 M/T and the rears are a 18x12 with 28x13.5 M/T They cost more than I bought the truck for 😅😭😭. I have a few photos posted on my instagram/Facebook. I'll get some new videos posted soon!
Oh nice!! Yea just depends how much tuck your going for. Since the inside of the wheel well does tapper inwards alot. Did you buy your spacers already? I think 1.5 would be solid. What size wheel are you running?
Oooo, that will be mint 👌 get those spacers on already!! 😅 I've been wanting to widen the 22s, but I've had hell of a time trying to find tires to fit a 22x12
Haha I just looked them up. They look mint 🔥 I dont know if my truck justifys racing wheels just yet haha. I'll be posting my next video today, just picked up the 6.0L from the machine shop. And I think im gonna AWD swap the truck too. Thanks for the support!
2005 chevrolet silverado 1500. Hello my friend, I have a question, my truck has 22×9.5 snowflakes replica wheels and 285/45R22 tires and it has a small scratch on the stabilizer bar and I would like to put some 1.5" or 2" spacers but they tell me that by putting the spacers the front tires are going to rub against the defense with your experience what do you recommend doing.
Hey, sorry for the late reply. If it just has a small scratch and only rubs at full turn or when your full turn and hit a bump, I honestly wouldn't worry about it. But there are also plenty of people running spacers on all four tires. It will cause extra stress and premature wear on some of your suspension parts. Worst case, you could always try the spacers, if you don't like them, just take them off. But if its not bad right now, id just leave it alone.
What are your wheel offset? Put the same bed on a SS and I’m trying to figure out wheel spacers. Stock SS wheels with 3” might have a bit less poke? Great looking truck man! Great channel
Hey, my offset is +24mm. It fits pretty snug. I've only seen one SS truck with a quadrasteer bed. They molded the body cladding to it also, is that yours? And thanks for the support!!
Hey, they held up pretty well. The truck made 355whp at the time, these spacers took alot of beating and launches. Never had any issue with them. I sold them and ended up getting some custom forged wheels. I also ran the same brand 2in spacer on my old white truck. 12in of lift of 40s, it weighed about 9,000lbs. I would recommend them.
Hey, im about a 4/6 drop with coilovers up front, and a flip kit in the rear. A 3/5 drop should work no problem. I rub on hard bumps, in the rear. But thats only because the 3in wheel spacers push the tire out flush with the bed. If I went with a 2in or 2.5in spacer, tucked inside the bed fender, I could Definitely go alot lower. Hope that helps 🤘
@@TheKingCoopa yeah I've seen guys put 2" spacers on the rear to bump the wheels out. I'm not looking for the wheel to be flush or anything - especially with the 305s on my H2 wheels. I just don't want it to look stupid being sunken in a ton.
They seam pretty heafty, and the lug nut studs are 12.9 grade, pretty strong. Those are the same grade as the spacers on my lifted white truck on 40s. I'll be posting some more videos, especially once I get the new 6.0 in with 2step 4x4 launches and nitrous lol. My theory is, if whistlindiesel can stack 10 ebay spacers on each other with stupid large tires and they still don't break, I should be good 😅 Also seen a few trucks on the Facebook pages running 800hp with wheel spacers and no issues.
@@TheKingCoopa did you end keeping the 3” spacers? Just asking because I have a similar set up and I would hate to crack a side panel after I just replaced one side for $1045 smh. I was thinking of maybe going with a 2 or 2.5 but I like the flush look with the 3”
@@Cat_eye03 i kept the 3in spacers on it for a while. They handled alot of abuse, but It only rubbed a little on the hard bumps, and kinda self clearenced itself lol. I don't want to sound like one of those negative commenters ...BUT ... wheel spacers, especially more than 1" is very bad for your car / truck. Your axles, joints, shocks, springs are all calculated to the vehicles standard width and by extending it you put a load of strain on those areas. The front is even worse because it puts strain on your power steering and messes with your wheel alignment. Just saying. Have fun.
Hey, for sure. I definitely agree with you. The front is a bad spot for spacers. But I feel like the solid axle in the rear handles it a little better. I do have brand new shocks, bushings, and wheel bearings. So I know I have a few years till they will become an issue.
