None of their other drummers could pull off Rev's solo like Brooks.
He handles Rev's work with care, respect, and integrity.
The only one who came close besides brooks was Portnoy

I think Portnoy was pretty good at it too. But Brooks is a great replacement.
The guys look so happy and rejuvenated. They're having fun again with Brooks at the drums. Gates is shredding better than ever.

Same. I remember a video back in the day of Syn butchering the solo (thinking it was an '06 show). After seeing him admit in that video he wasn't as good back then and how he has "grown up" in this one is awesome to me.

It's really nice to see them still trying their best to achieve the best for the fans. I can tell that for Shadows, some songs now on City of Evil would be rather difficult to perform because of the vocal ranges he touched then.
I think he said in an interview that looking back on City of Evil he said it was fast, rediculous and like "what the fuck!" and all the songs "are like rediculously long"
I can't imagine how it must feel to perform Critical Acclaim live!
Some artists I've seen live (on RUclips) don't bother trying anymore (U2 for example). Which is a shame.

Well I can tell youI’ve been to a lot of concerts, and I would definitely say they put on the best show of any I’ve been to. They sound amazing live (Recording can never do it justice) and always have a great stage setup. They had some crazy pyrotechnics when I saw them too, but that concert was outside so idk if they can do that inside haha

XD its funny cause on the 25 i was at the concert in peoria and they actually played it. I about lost my mind. Matt said that before every show they ask one person what song they should play, that they normally dont, and someone suggested Burn It Down, and i was super surprised at how well Brooks kept up with the speed.
Must have been a great experience haha. Wish they would play I Won't See You Tonight though.
They actually played Bur it Down in the Encore 2 weeks later in Hamilton CA and sounded perfect. Everyone went absolutely wild in the pit then!

Edit: Welp as I grew older and probably more wiser, I guess I knew dropping the most popular songs on the setlist is pretty dangerous probably. I guess it was more noticeable from them because they play very few songs due to the length of their songs
