You don't get the joy of this place clicking through Netflix. Long live physical media.
They always take off good movies and put some crappy movies and some are good ones too
I totally 100 percent agree
Netflix is convenient, but ultimately charmless.
Plus netflix doesnt have 1/20th of the movies they have here
Pirating is where it's at.
Most of the Blu Rays I want I can't find online in my country.
I suppose you can get everything in America.
I find these type of videos very relaxing for some reason.
Hey thanks so much really glad you liked them
You and me, brother!
Me too :) super relaxing voice
Same I love these
Ya I almost fell asleep. I wonder what's with that
when Chauncey says "I don't think I've seen this one," you know that's one rare MF movie. Good video, bud.
Lol ya that is so true
@@coolduder eBay is my favorite place to shop for a lot of out of print dvds VHS and laserdiscs
Man, these kinds of places are the lost jewels. Fantastic find and thanks for sharing.
I totally agree. Its amazing to find spots like this
@@coolduder what’s the dreamworld movie next to daddy long
I feel I could spend hours looking there. I still own a VCR just to watch obscure movies that never got a dvd release.
I know I would have been in their for hours if I could have, Was kinda tired since right before I went I got off the plane
Great to see a very rare video store in Seattle, WA that still exist and still sell and rent VHS with Laserdisc, DVD & even Blu-rays! Even with these obscure, extremely rare OOP titles here!
I know it was such an amazing place to see
Wow! Just seeing all of the big box VHS tapes brought back so many memories. I would go nuts in a place like that. It's just not the same nowadays, with digital or ordering movies from a website. Thanks for the tour.
No problem I loved it so much as well. Was just like going back in time
I went to a video store on Saturday and did a video about it. It wasn't much because they're moving location. I'm not used to vlogging in public. It's so nice to see video stores still active though.
I like your channel because your love for movies is contagious.
Hey thanks so much :)
This is a really cool video. This is a dream destination for me. One of these days I will take a road trip to Seattle and check out Scarecrow.
Wow so cool! Luv all those wacky tapes n amazing dvd / Blu Ray selection. Some obscure tapes! Such a cool place I gotta check it out in person some time..
You really need to make a trip up to that cool store !!!!
We we both really need to do that road trip and hit up videos stores.
coolduder totally we gotta that’ll be so fun!
Gosh I wish there was a place like this near me. Closest one is I Luv Video in Austin but that’s a 2 hour drive-it just doesn’t make sense to drive that far to rent a dvd, drive home, watch it, then drive back to return it. They also have a for sale section but it’s obviously only a small section compared to what’s available to rent.
Oh, and I have The Midnight Hour on VHS. I found it at a goodwill years ago for cheap. It's an anchor bay release in one of those small clamshell cases they used to do. I had no idea it was that rare...
Wow that is so cool you have it. Ya its such a rare movie to ever find
Turns out they have a list of their movies and you can even reserve them online. They have Midnight Hour! www.scarecrow.com/45/search.html?keywords=Midnight+Hour+ They even have the japan and uk song of the south releases!
Will always kick myself for taping the original broadcast of that to watch later, then taping over it! I didn't keep a lot of stuff in those days.
Wow, very cool shop! You just don't find them like that very often at all.
I know was such an amazing place
Scarecrow is definitely the first place I’ll visit whenever I get to Seattle. In the new release section, they had a copy of Getting Even” which Is pretty since I reviewed that one recently.
It really is such an amazing place for sure
Saw this video come up in my Recommended Page. Played the first few seconds when you introduced yourself and thought "You look so familiar! Where have I heard your name before?" then I realised "Oh!! You're the vlogger guy from Bride Of Scarecrow (a.k.a. Scarecrow Rising)!!"
Good to see you! I saw on your IMDb that you were a DVD collector. I have been a collector of horrors and B-Movies for the last couple of years and I love it!
Hey thanks for the message. Very cool you saw that film. I’ve been a collector for years and years as well. Really into horror mostly as well
I just started collecting VHS recently. It is really fun to collect for because you can still find a lot of rare tapes in the wild for very cheap.
I miss going to the video store so much. It was one of my fave things to do - was nothing better than finding a copy of that rental you d been waiting for! Also going through all the dusty free vhs boxes at our local store - if you rented one of the new films , you could choose a free one from the old tapes, loved it 😊 fab vid duder!! 👍👍👍
Hey thanks so much really was such a amazing throwback store to get to check out
Would have loved to get a glimpse at the anime section, the US have a kinda interesting history with home released ones from the 80's and 90's.
Bruh
That was amazing!!! It brought me back to the video store days during my teenage years
Thanks really am so happy you liked it and it brought back memories
Feel like you stepped back in time...so cool !!! Really glad you got to go there.
I know it was totally like going back in time.
Always enjoy watching these types of videos with a lot of older titles on vhs and dvd that you would rarely if ever come across. It's cool to see stores like that.
Thanks really love finding stores like this
TOTALLY BRILLIANT! - Just to see some of those obscure vhs tapes brings back the 80s/90s - vivid memories Bro!
Hey thanks so much so glad you liked it. Really was such an amazing store to get to see
Great video as usual Shawn!! I love stores like this. 😊👍
Thanks I was so happy to get to check out that store
I really enjoy watching this video
Thanks so much Edward. I hope your having a good weekend
HI SHAWN SUCH A GREAT VIDEO IT WAS SO MUCH FUN SEEING YOU AT SCARECROW VIDEO I LIVE CLOSE BY AND I GO THERE QUITE OFTEN ITS SUCH A COOL AND AMAZING STORE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING VERY RARE AND OBSCURE ITS DEFINITELY THE PLACE TO GO I CAN SPEND HOURS THERE JUST LOOKING AT EVERYTHING ITS DEFINITELY ONE OF THE COOLEST STORES IVE EVER SEEN AND I'M REALLY GLAD YOU ENJOYED IT THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING AND TAKE CARE
@私の大きなペニスを吸う ITS LOCATED IN SEATTLE WASHINGTON IN THE UNIVERSITY DISTRICT IT OPENED IN 1988 ITS AN AMAZING STORE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND VISITING IT
That s so cool you live close to the store
this store is cool
its Like looking at a 2 story bookstore
i get joy from rewatching this tour cause of the fact that theres so many terrific reccomendations
Hey thanks so much for taking the time to check it out. And it really was such an amazing place.
I remember Ralph and his Motorcycle....super cool as a kid. Never owned it but I think it came on PBS or something
Amazing store, I went here when I visited Seattle 3 years ago.
Oh man i really enjoyed this i always watch your old vhs videos so to get a new one is great you made my night cheers shawn
Hey thanks so much so glad you liked this one. Was so happy to get to check out the store
oh man i miss browsing videotapes like this.
That's probably the coolest store you've been in! Love the content!
I know I loved it so much. I want to try get to more videos stores like this but I know they are very rare to find.
Psychotronic and Something Weird Video are based in Seattle. I used to learn about new movies and bands just by reading magazines in Seattle.
Shawn would you consider doing new best of the 70s, 80s and 90s videos? Like revisit those decades?
I second this
This store looks amazing btw.
Ya I need to do a new updated one of those videos
Nice little evil terrier
Awesome place! It has a lot of good movies & DVDs.
Ya the place really was so awesome
it's always fun to hear you talk about VHS I have a VCR hooked up to my smart TV
I need to get mine hooked back up again
coolduder any idea what model you have?
I have SEVEN, different formats and each does something the other one doesn't. If you care about sound you've got an AV receiver that can upscale analog video to HDMI.
The Media Hoarder cool
Coolduder was in cinephile heaven!
Totally was for sure
Shawn, you need to come up with a special 'dye' that the studios can use to print their covers so that they don't get 'washed-out' even if you have them in daylight continually. Put your mind to work, get all those scientists you know together and come up with a printing plan! We're counting on you!
8:09 WOW You find "Chuck E. Cheese in the Galaxy 5000" VHS I remember I have this when I was 12, 13, and 14 years old. Im Chuck E. Cheese fan :)
Totally was a cool tape to see
Wow!!! That place looks like so much fun! I NEED to go there!
It really is such an awesome place
coolduder thank you so much for sharing it! I can only hope that physical media makes the kind of comeback that vinyl has at some point. I just want more places like this. 2nd and Charles has some cool stuff, but nothing like this
Nutcase is on my VHS wish list. Roger Donaldson's first film.
I really want a Jason Takes Manhattan VHS. Worth a good amount of money and the cover art is awesome
I also really love the box art for Friday the 13th Part 5 a new beginning. It had a weird hockey mask that never appeared the movie.
Ya I really loved the cover on that one as well
I want get any friday on vhs cant find any
I absolutely love this video thanks for the upload.
Hey thanks so much. Was so happy to get to check out this store.
Dude what epic store, I wished I didn't live in philly. You should go to places like this more often or even show some of your mom and pop shops near you.
Hey thanks ya that is totally a goal of mine. I would love to kinda make this a series.
The way he talks, like he's so amazed by everything reminds me of Steve Irwin
Always loved Steve Irwin. But for someone like that that is 100 percent into psychical media a place that really is so cool
Holy shit! At 4:00 in the upper left with the orange cover and big toothy smile is the Japanese horror classic “House”! That is such a rare DVD, I’ve never actually seen a physical copy before!
And all you need is a RCA TO HDMI Converter, they are pretty cheap. Or you could use a coaxial cable. most TVs have a coaxial port for digital antennas. You can use this port to connect your VCR to your TV via coaxial cable.
The slasher movie I Directed Groundhog should be in there for rent. so much stuff in there though i wouldn't even know where to find it haha.
Wow im curious to watch your film!
A lot of youtubers have recently mentioned what they made like MrParka and HorrorsBall.
I will se if i can find it on Ebay thanks!👍
I know it was kinda over whelming with all the stuff in the store to look
@@coolduder I'd say probably a slasher dvd section. 2 floors. I would live in there.
@@jessediaz1293 Thanks So much. It might be on ebay if you can't find it just hit me up on my channel.
Prancer the trailer was on before Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Also, I remembering renting a copy of Bill and Ted when I was 5-6 years old And I remember my copy had a plug for a Bill and Ted sweepstakes as well as a trailer for winter people.
ive got 22 vcr s ,still working and enjoying my vhs collection
Awesome video! Makes me miss rental stores so bad
Thanks so much. It really did for me as well
I bet you were like a kid in the candy store at Scarecrow Video. I know I was loving all the horror movies in that store. Quite a few out of print movies. Great store!!!
I was it was such an amazing place. Was so glad I got to check it out
Omg! what an awesome video store it really took me back to the good old days when i used to go to the video store in my area where i used to rent and buy videos thanks shawn for sharing your movie hunting video truly enjoyed it
Thanks so much so glad you liked it. It really was such an great flash back store for me as well
Zoobilee Zoo was one of my favorites too growing up. I’d love to find some.
This store is awesome!
Stephen King's World of Horror was a syndicated TV special, watched it but don't remember much about it- I think he talks a lot in it though. If I go up to Seattle again I'd bring all my stuff to rent the rare titles and make copies, they gotta know that people do that. Good thing about DVDs is you can make exact copies with no generational loss.
Cool thanks for the info on it
Great video Shawn! You should definitely head back sometime and do an even more in depth video of the place, and bring Danny along so he can freak out too lol.
Ya me and Danny both want to kinda do a road trip kinda thing and hit up a lot of video place. So maybe we will get back to that store.
As an earlier subscriber it's good to see him healthier now
I remember seeing Magic Star Traveller at Incredible Universe but passing it up.
If you are ever in NH or Southern Maine, you need to check out a Bull Moose store. They are like Mecca for collectors of Blu-Ray, DVD, VHS, CDs, Books, etc. I drive like an hour and a half up to one of there stores ever few months or so, and it is always worth it :)
I have seen that place in a few vlogs It looks so awesome. I definitely hope to check one out sometime
Incredible!
Thanks so much really is an amazing store
Omg I remember renting Philip the small Because it had my name in the title. I can't even find a trailer of this. So many memories you just reminded me of.
Thanks really glad you liked the video. I was seeing so many tapes I totally forgot about in the store
11:42 Tuck Everlasting has been on my VHS wish list ever since I saw the Disney version. Unfortunately, people are always trying to sell me the Disney version on VHS.
That place looks really cool
Very cool! Two things I'm after obsessively is a French Quebec film called "In The Belly Of The Dragon" which is a odd comedy/drama. And the 10 disc set of The Best Of Bizarre - a comedy skit show from the 80's that started Super Dave Osbourne. Oh crap! They actually got THREE COPIES of In The Belly Of The Dragon! GAWD-DAAAAAAAMN! These guys are too much!
Cool I need to look into that ones
Bro you are so lucky i really want to own the Smallville seasons i know those stories like that have those seasons.
I had a college professor who worked on the puppetry for Prancer. I never did see it.
Been looking forward to this video since you mentioned this the other day.
Thanks so much for taking the time to check it out
Man that place looks great! You could spend hours just looking at the movie titles! Wish someone would post a 2 hour tour video of it!
Most def. I only has some much time to check out the store but if their was more time I totally would have made more videos of the place
I'd heard of the Comeback Kid, I watch everything with John Ritter, how much was it? 99 cents? How much was Barnum, it looked interesting:). Great store, I want to go there:). I loved the Great Space Coaster!!!! Do you know why that Beavis and Butthead dvd is so rare? The store reminded me of Ken Video, they had so much great stuff!
I totally dont remember the prices but with the Beavis and Butthead Dvd it was pulled right before the release. Not really 100 percent sure on the reason why
@@coolduder Cool:) I would love to see that Beavis and Butthead dvd:)
Great vid shawn what a amazing vhs store miss them
I agree the store was so awesome
Nice video! This takes me back.
Thanks so much for taking the time to check it out. The store totally is such a flash back
Prehistoria I remember that and rookie of the Year , space jam , afraid of the dark. wow that would be awesome to go checkout one day I bet the science fiction section is badass
I was able to hook up my VHS player to my receiver, and then an analogue output from.receiver to my 4k tv, works perfectly!
Awesome need to try and figure it out
Mine upscales to 4K, basically the TV thinks it's getting a 4K signal for everything even though the quality may not look like it.
Cool video! Fun to venture and browse on new territories. :)
6:14 The Room!
Welcome to Seattle great video have fun at one of my all time favorite places for movies I live way south of Seattle Scarecrow is a gem.
It really is such an amazing place
There are movies i saw on tv as a kid that i dont know what the title is and took me years to find out some of them.
I rented purple people eater all the time 😂
I rented the nightshift collection too 👍
I love it when you do those rendom Movie hunting videos
Thanks they are totally more all time favorite videos to do.
I am getting a replacement copy of Secret Central: Have You Heard? (2004) on DVD which is out of print
The great space coaster!! Wow I remember that and that's something you never see
Hey Niiiice! The store got a copy of Karmina! It's a movie from where I come from, Québec. Pretty funny and uncommon. The sequel is pretty fun too.
Cool ill have to look up the trailer for that one
i can't believe Evil Spirits was there! Such a cool store. Did you happen to notice if Haunting Fear (1990) was there? filmed in the same house
Cool I didn’t get to look for that one
23:58 The American Scream is on my wish list. It stars Pons Maar of Return to Oz fame.
Stephen King's World of Horror is actually a documentary about the works of Stephen King. It's insane. Stephen King himself, Wes Craven, George A. Romero, Sam Raimi, Dario Argento, John Landis, and more all make appearances! The Nightshift collection is very interesting. Stephen King lets up-and-coming filmmakers purchase the rights to his stories for 1 dollar to option an adaptation he calls "dollar babies", and the Nightshift collection is a series of "dollar babies" all based on short stories in Stephen King's anthology book, Night Shift. Frank Darabount, who wrote and directed the Shawshank Redemption, the Mist, and created the Walking Dead made one of those short films in the Nightshift collection. Fantastic video by the way! You earned a new sub!
Thanks so much for the info And for subbing to my channel
Wow! Cool video. Roger watkins last house...ON the xxx'' corruption'' VSyn blu ray RELEASE.still have to watch this one👍🗼
Ya that is that one.
Hey Sean/Cooldooder: Is Sid & Nancy considered an out of print or hard 2 find DVD..or Blu-Ray?
Been waiting for a rare and oop video from you for a while. Hope to see more in the future!
Thanks. Yeah I totally want to do more of these ones. They always my favorite to make.
Man, I lived in Seattle for over nine years. I even think that I passed by that place on the bus a few times. Never went in.
Really was such a awesome hidden Gem
Man that place looks amazing I wish I had something like that in my city I would be at that place everyday haha
I really do as well such a great place
Amazing place the way all the movies are set up is just awesome with I went in there I would never want too leave it would be like heaven
I agree its such am amazing place.
@@coolduder I want too go there one day
Hey I’m in Seattle. Would be so cool for a meet and greet somewhere!!
Not their anymore but if I ever get back will for sure let you know
Sounds good!!!
The Midnight Hour was released twice on vhs and once on dvd. I have all three releases. I think it's Vidmark (i have it packed away so i can't confirm) who did the original vhs release in 1989. Then Anchor Bay did the second vhs and dvd around 1999/2000. It was a favorite made for tv movie of mine from 1985 so i sought them out when they were released. They could have had it in the horror tv movie section.
That is so cool you have all editions. I really hope one day to find the Dvd for a cheap price. Its one of those movies im always looking for.
Is that The Wonderful World of Disney Double Feature with Donald Duck on VHS? I would love to watch again someday.
Do these stores you go to sell movieposters? Have you tried bying one right of the wall? Do they allow that? Big poster collector.
Posters for Free ! Come to the yearly parking lot sale (Saturday Aug 3, 2024 is the next)
love midnight hour and summercamp nightmare. I'd be surprised if you actually find a copy of them.
I have a bootleg dvd of Summer Camp Nightmare. Always loved that film so much
Archive originations need to be getting on to this aswell as promoting themselves now.
Thanks for posting this! I went on ebay and found "Pumpkin Man" for $9, I'm excited to watch it, I've never seen that before. And it's selling for $65 on walmart.com for some reason!
Just picked up Pumpkin Man on dvd a couple weeks ago from Ebay. Small world......
Great find. And thanks so much for taking the time to check out the video.
A other good place to hunt for outof print Blu-ray/Dvds and Vhs Tapes is those half price book stores if you have one by out that is I found a few out of print History Channel,Kid cartoons,Sports, and Tv shows dvds there quite a few times before the one by me closed down due to not not getting a ton of customers.
Cool I checked out one of them as well out their. Seemed like a pretty cool store.
coolduder Yeah it's petty cool stores and it was my primary place to find dvds and blu-rays for my collection at very good prices.
