Awesome, I'll be watching the full stream once I'm able to do so. I loved Abubakar as Bayek and adored his energy at the Game Awards.
Watched the demo playthrough the other day and of course Neil found ways to cause chaos The game already looks amazing - impactful storytelling and beautiful dance-like combat! Definitely going to be stealing the term "Wiki Wormhole" too 😂
This game caught my attention at the Game Awards and watching this demo really makes me want to play it. Not only does it look beautiful, the story sounds equally beautiful.
I think I’ll definitely be giving this game a go at some point. I lost my mum just before Christmas so grief is very much a current thing for me and this game sounds very interesting. The game looks so beautifully done.

From what I've seen in this demo, this game is such a beautiful homage to Abubakar's father. I'm definitely going to have to pick this up, because just from hearing him talk about it, I can tell this is one of those games that will make me happy cry, knowing the story and drive behind it. That kind of creator's passion can only result in a wholesomely wonderful game. Plus the setting, animations, and graphics are just beautiful. I always love playing games that delve into mythologies and cultures I'm not familiar with, too.

The fact that I'm the only person I know that has ever heard of, or watched, Amadeus...and it's one of my favorite films, and Neil actually knows it...ah, as if I needed another reason to think the man is lovely.
First exposure to Abu was Blades in the Dark through the Glass Cannon podcast. So glad he's been able to release a project like this. The cherry on top is Neil getting in on this action. ❤

Sir, literally this time last week you were booking it from MCO straight to Megacon, spent time running between autographs and photo ops all day (with the bonus panel run Sunday)... then returned home with barely a chance to have adjusted from the initial jet lag and with no down time to adjust again participated in this stream and were actually conscious and eloquent? Holy hell!
The game has such beautiful art and animation! Like the gameplay elements from Shantae, Smash Bros, Donkey Kong, and It Takes Two all come together to make a pretty battle and side-scrolling game! It looks like Abubakar and his team did an amazing job with this game! I'm curious to see how the story develops across the game - what their take on the defying Death theme will be. I don't think I've ever seen Death come along on the journey before! I feel like this game would definitely have a punch or two to the feels somewhere in it, too.
How you find time and energy to not only attend MegaCon, and then still be so eloquent with your critique and analysis of the game demo is BEYOND me! 😅

The looks so beautiful and fun...
An association that promotes the visibility of Afro-descendants in video games had talked about it and shown a short excerpt. It had already made me want to try it. And this stream was the final push.
The visual universe attracted me because we see a lot of Nordic mythology but too little of African mythology.
You two looked so chill, there was a certain complicity, loved that vibe. It was really nice to listen to and watch.
I tried the game this weekend and had a good time. Abubakar Salim lends his voice well. The different mechanics are added little by little. And despite the sad context, I liked that there were some moments where Zau and Kalunga throw each other some jokes.
This game looks gorgeous!! It’s cool you got to try it out! I rarely see games that feature African mythology and it’s more so Greek or Norse mythology. I hope you get plenty of rest king❤️

Zau makes me think of a Mega Man type platformer /journey for the new generation, that you really cheer for the main character from the jump. HYPED.

Yes! I've been hyped about Tales of Kenzera: Zau ever since The Game Awards. This is awesome! (Abubakar may have underestimated the chaotic game-breaking skills his demo was up against, though.) 😂
This game looks good. I like the setting.
I just hope at the end the guy decide not to get his fathers soul back and let him have his peace.

A beautiful story about a desperate kid, who only wants his father back.
