Saw the Stag in a showroom in Nashville. Tennessee back in '72. Was just starting my career so I couldn't afford a can of beans let alone an unforgettable car. I've never forgotten that beautiful car.

Great channel Arry . I'm looking forward to watching the progress on the engine rebuild . I had a red '75 manual Stag back in '77 ( reg no. 143 TIK ) and kept it 'till '82 . I had to replace the engine on mine in 1981 after the crankshaft broke in half in the south of France . It took me months to find a replacement Stag engine but there was no way I was going to shove a rover engine into it . Nicest car I ever owned and despite it's bad reputation , it never gave me any trouble apart from the crankshaft letting go . I still miss it even though it's been gone 37 years . This one is superb . I love the paint job , the chrome and the interior but I think I would prefer the original wheels and steering wheel .
This has to be my dream Stag, that colour is absolutely stunning, always loved that colour, but on that Stag looked even more special, and that colour interior is superb, if I won the lotto I would get this company to a second version of that car exactly as it is seen there ! ah well, dream on 😍
A beautiful car - subtle and yet eye-catching. Only one problem stops it being my dream car, it's an auto. When I was looking at Stags to buy in the late 70's I tried several autos and two manual with o/d - the manuals if I remember correctly, drove night and day better than the autobox cars. Better acceleration, better top speed, better mpg. However, this is Still a great Stag ...
Check out the Channel this weekend coming at 8pm UK time. We have another one that Paul has done which we are going to share! ‘Appy Days! Best wishes TR Tony
Should have used an oil pressure gauge from a TR6 which would have matched the stags styling.. The temperature gauge should have been put where the clock is.
It is no doubt a beautifully finished car and possibly the ultimate restoration but definitely not the "ultimate " Stag. If it were then it would dispense with the roll over bar. And before you all say "thats part of the design " an Ultimate customiser like Chip Forse would incorporate that in the design. It would have a better engine and suspension and many other mods. This just a beautiful and tasteful restoration imho.
Amazing always wanted one never got one 53 still find myself looking at them theres one I’ve seen on the net looks just as good but with better interior it’s got a crisscross pattern and the dash is the same colour in cream would like to see the two of them side by side
Ultimate ? Nah. Manual thank you & proper wheels. That'd do,along with the Nissan half-shaft change. That's closer.........nothing wrong with the motor as with carbs, plus larger capacity radiator with thermo fan. Done. Just drive & listen to that unique Stag exhaust note........ Now,THAT'S perfection
It is absolutely beautiful but it looks like the clock works. Everyone knows a proper Stag has a faulty clock! ;) I think I'd get OCD trying to keep that one clean though.

To me to class it as the Ultimate Stag it would have to be like the 4 wheel drive one or the Supercharged one or as someone else put Fuel Injection added not just a good paint and interior job.
I can assure you no Triumph never came out of the factory in that condition. I had a GT6 Mk3 new in 1973 and looked good when collecting it, except when looking closely the primer was still showing through under the sills. Attention to detail was not good, it's no wonder BL got a load of flak from the press and public in the 70's and 80's.
The stag was UK's effort to match a SL that looks like someone wished they bought a Bentley it's over the top o see one done on 70s farrari blue and inside was so much less which is more over the top
Sorry but I hate the steering wheel... Yuck. Genuine Triumph wheels were always great on the sportier cars, especially the 60s wire ones from the Vitesse Spitfire GT6 TRs and then the more modern Dolomite / Stag ones.
I’m gonna court controversy: I don’t like it. It’s a bit ostentatious for my taste. I don’t deny the standard of the restoration: that’s quite, quite clear. I just think it’s a bit, well, bling.

This has to be close to what these cars were always meant to be, beautifully done.
Beautiful car, going back to a very lucky owner. Well done to you guys for a brilliant restoration. 🏴🇬🇧
This has to be as near to perfection as I've ever seen in a restored Stag. 👍

A peach, so much on the mechanics as well as the body, superb 👍

That's got to be the ultimate restoration, probably considerably better than new.
Without doubt a show winner ❤
@@ArryTheStag the T bar in in leather too?😮

Nice job and true craftsmanship- that is a keeper! 😎
stunning colour
stunningly gorgeous

Stunning car! Keep the vids coming matey
Brilliant.
Also anyone thinks it’s not staying true to the stag if triumph could have put them out like this they would have
Have stag classics got a web sight ? Looked every ware can’t find one . Or can you send me the address of their workshop please
Sure - be sure to mention 'Arry The Stag! nicelocal.co.uk/south-east/shops/stag_classics/

I thought the " ultimate " Stag was the Tickford 1982 conversion ?
Holy Crap!
just seen this video - beautiful looking car for a no expense spared resto. My choice would have been to have it fuel injected.

What do you expect? The clocks were German (Kienzle). Being German they were still right twice a day though. Sorry couldn't resist.
Does anyone know where to get the steering wheel boss with the stag emblem on it? Would love to get one.
Hiya - check out the Mota Lita range www.moto-lita.co.uk/ They do bosses too (though not sure they're customised) All the best TR T
@@ArryTheStag I got onto their website. I ordered one last night. It’s in the post already, got the local engraver onto the artwork. Thank you

If I ever win the lottery
how long did it take to do
Wow
how much would it cost to do one like that.??
what bho was it. was it engine modded
Translation in french is really funny.

Although a very beautiful example, why would you spend 50,000 pounds on a car that’s worth $20-$30 pounds in concourse condition??
because he can and its his personal choice ........good luck to him
Lovely job well done but it isn’t a stag rather a modified stag so not for someone who
Iikes originality like me.

@@ArryTheStag great car .....its yours to do as you like
But but BUT! It's a manual😪
Fantastic it's the proper engine in it none of the Rover rubbish what people put in them.
nowt wrong with the rover V8 but didn't belong in the stag
nothing wrong with a rover engine .......should have been the first choice when they started to make the stag
To say the Rover engine is rubbish compared to the Triumph V8, is laughable. The numbers and history say it all.
Shame its an auto.....
An awesome car!
Im biased, mines a manual...😅
OH dear ,had one of these for over 25 years , whatever you do it will always be crap .. trust me I know
