Hey Bernard, let me know if you would like to calibrate or looking for video's to help you with takacats!!! Check out some of mine on BobJohnsoncity.com!!!
Great insight, Thank you! Question: Wondering if this inflatable is easy to inflate - deflate and store when not in use, aboard a 36’ sport cruiser. How much space does it take up when deflated. TIA..
Have you taken a look at the sport models? I understand they're wider inside. I was just wondering why you went with the lx models versus the sport models. I'm seriously considering purchasing, but having a hard time deciding.
I really enjoy the LX models for the weight, portability and ease of unloading from the front and getting back in the boat even thought the sport model has a tapered front, I like the ease of getting back in the boat. I use it like a golf cart on the water for swimming, fishing and just adventuring. Also makes it easy to just walk off when beaching. Talk to Monica at Bob Johnson City boats (678-238-2621) and she can give you great information around both models. They really helped me on mine and determine how I was going to use the boat. Great people!!!
Hey Deck, really appreciate your videos. Like you, I’m no spring chicken (70) who appreciates the beauty of simple and easy after years of launching, cleaning, repairing a large boat. I have an old Tohatsu 5 hp 2 stroke. Will that adequately power the 300 series TacaCat with (primarily) 2 adults and some gear? I noticed that ur new 6 hp was insufficient for ur needs while powering your 420 and hesitate to buy a 420 if I’ll be forced the fight the added weight of a larger engine. Also, will the 300 series accommodate a sun canopy? One more Q: have u found a way to get some back support while operating the TacaCat? You seem like a man with the vigor and excitement of boy. Don’t lose that!
Donald, thank you for your questions. I think a 5 to 8 hp is perfect for the 300 series. I notice with my 15hp on the 340lx that it was to much hp with just one person on it and perfect with two. I wish I had kept the 6hp however I sold it. Lets talk about the back rest, boy do I wish there was a way to have a back rest cause after an hour or so riding around my back does get very tired and I have found no options for it. I am looking at some idea's to add a PVC rail sliding kit to it so I can add a aluminum bench seat however that's in R&D right now and just toying with the idea. Finally, about the sun Canopy, yes on amazon you can order a Sun Canopy that glues down, I actually ordered one but ended up using it on my aluminum boat instead. here is a link to the one I ordered and comes with hardware to glue down to the boat. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MW4T8Z9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 Hope this helps, let me know if you have anymore questions as I love my takacat. if you looking to purchase a takacat please hit up www.bobjohnsoncity.com/ and tell them I sent you as they may give you a discount!!
it takes about 15 minutes to inflates and put together. When stored it comes out to two small bags which fits in the back of my wife's jeep very easy with the 15hp Suzuki. It weighs in at 68 pounds before the motor per the spec's. Great awesome boat, at half throttle was very exhilarating.
not yet, I will tell you when I took it out with the 15hp, it felt a little over powered. It felt light in the front and when trying to get up to plane and was hard to handle. I will try and take it out this next weekend and do a video for you.
Just discovered your videos and have enjoyed your reviews on Takacats. BTW, I am a Takacat dealer in North Myrtle Beach.
Ah glad you enjoyed them, I enjoy my takacats and everything they bring to the table.. Always looking for a new adventure on them.

Looks awesome, can you fit it in the back of the truck without deflating it.
Actually I’m. It sure. I have it on a trailer right now as I just installed the motor.

Hey ? Are the valves interchangeable with the different model talkiecats
Yes, they are interchangeable.
Congrats on getting the new boat. What happened to the 420LX?
Still have the 420lx, trying the 340lx out now!!! Love these boats.
Cavitation problem?😮
I felt like the 15hp was too much for it. Maybe a 9 or 6hp would have been better
Got videos of the 340 or 420 with the 15hp
