you can dupe Dracula's ai into always doing the fire ball attack in the second phase, it's similar to how you can dupe Dario's ai into always doing the fire pillars. It would probably save a decent amount of time, incase anyone else is crazy enough to try this challenge.
Castlevania challenge runs do not get nearly enough credit, this is so, so much harder and more interesting then just beating x Pokémon game with x bad Pokémon or x Bethesda game with x terrible stated weapon. Some youtubers can make them entertaining but this is just may more unique with some actually interesting problem solving.
I don't think you understand how incredibly hard Pokemon challenges are and how much effort and time goes into strategizing what to do. No one really does "beat Pokemon with X pokemon", that's something huge channels do for views. The vast majority of challenges are nuzlockes of already difficult pokemon romhacks. Both Castlevania and Pokemon have a ton of work going into them, physically and mentally, it isn't fair to dismiss the other.
@@evelynphore7635 Dude, I know. I've watched full movies of run and bun and kaizo hacks, I've watch MartSnack beat Pokémon without visuals or audio and beat every single seed of platinum at once. I specifically mentioned x Pokémon game with x Pokémon and not just all challenges in Pokémon games because of this. I stand by my opinion that this takes more time and effort then even beating Pokémon games with Magikarp or Sunkern and the fact that Castlevania challenges are underrated on youtube.
Legitimately impressed not only with the unique strategies, but with the actual skill it takes to pull something like this off. You never disappoint 🤘🏻
Sliding does hardcoded damage, and jumpkicking is based off Player Speed + Airtime - Time Since Last Jumpkick. This is why repeatedly jumpkicking deals low damage, but timing them does more. I think atleast, I don't do the most research into portrait of ruin, Dawn and Ecclesia are my two fortes
Wow. Frank, you're a legend. And your videos have gotten really good with the voice-over. Thanks for going through all of this, just for our entertainment ❤ But please take care of yourself and don't burn yourself out, mate.
The big spring is there to ensure you have the Push Cube and Strength Glove, and as such, you must've beaten at least two of the three Portraits you can reach before going to the Tower of Death.
Oh, okay. Yeah, they probably coulda just blocked the way with a heavy block to achieve the same effect (as they do in a couple other spots), but the spring does stand out as an interesting setpiece.
first time watching a vid of yours and I love how detailed you explained how the boss fights go! Great work, I'll check out your other castlevania stuff!
wheeze the ghoul king hand cam 8/8 didnt break restrictions for grinding, much appreciated but... the real final boss remains undefeated. carpal tunnel.
You could've gone through Nation of Fools before fighting stella, leveling up to take more hits, and gotten the spinning art earlier to avoid some of her more tricky attacks, as defeating legion is what makes the art of zypher quest available.
actually impressive, still watching and dont see how you will beat Death MOST especially the true ending boss this way without items. Sounds insane even with TAS, Especially since I saw someone do something similar with Encyclopedia only (charlotte Only) though this is not the same but with no items sounds crazy.
You know I thought once True Dracula's wings closed during the crusher attack I thought they would never open and he would just repeatedly keep attacking until you did die. Now I know there's another way around it. I think it was the ancient armor I tried one time and he just kept his wings clamped and kills you.
Is this a bad time to tell you about the damage stacking bug? If an enemy is suffering from three damage cooldowns, the fourth one will damage them every single frame.
honestly no clue, I thought it might be something with the amount of sprites onscreen or something but it only works on certain enemies, like The Creature or Astarte. It doesn't work on enemies like Brauner, who do have a bunch of sprites onscreen at once, so I honestly have no idea what causes the game to crash

Why didn't you use the luck boost tho? 😅 I'm not very bright or good with sarcasm
@@KeltEiferschild oh I just forgot it existed lol
And Johnathan becomes a dart throwing master after defeating Dracula
Anyone with sanity: There’s no reason to do a challenge run that makes a game as mundane as possible
Frank: Hold my beer
That Ghoul King kill.... Holy shit, that was impressive
I imagine this challenge must have been agonizingly boring for you to play, but man is it impressive. Bravo! You've earned yourself a new subscriber.
Waiting for this channel to blow up tbh seems like a matter of time

@@evelynphore7635 Nah, castlevania challenges are harder. you need skill. not RPG know-how and luck.

This is how i beat the game but not one damage, just un armed.
I love your videos, Frank. You are a hidden gem.
And so, with the ability to numbers straight through the boss revoked, the gamer had to learn how to dodge the boss.
The big spring is there to ensure you have the Push Cube and Strength Glove, and as such, you must've beaten at least two of the three Portraits you can reach before going to the Tower of Death.
oh, I meant it as more of a design choice lol. Just seems weird to have this random spring in the middle of this gothic castle

Yeah, he does an additional 7 hits after he closes his wings, makes sense why you thought it instakills you when you're using ancient armor
Dear gaud what is wrong with you

Now do that on Hard Lvl 1 where everything hits harder and you cant grind your way out Of danger by getting "tankier"

I wonder if the issue is not that the cheat is not working but that some damage is level dependent. Has this game's damage formula been figured out?
Which emulator do you use?
Is this a bad time to tell you about the damage stacking bug? If an enemy is suffering from three damage cooldowns, the fourth one will damage them every single frame.
Oh yeah, I mention banning it at 1:11. Felt it would make the challenge less painful (and we can't have that can we)

Damage stacking? Sounds like HARMONY OF DISSONANCE. Bad game smh smh.
