@@whynottofollowme4312 hey! I know it's quite late but just wanna ask how did it go with you? I'll be starting alevels this sep and i'm a student outside the UK too ;)
I agree with all of these (as someone who's just had their year 13 cut short by covid) :) Some other things that helped me are - 1. Look over the work before the lesson so you at least know what new keywords and stuff mean and you already know the simple concepts so you can just focus on understanding the hard stuff 2. It's kind of annoying, but revise your year 12 content in the summer holidays between year 12 and 13. Year 12 to year 13 is another big step and I found that my teachers just kind of assumed all year 12 knowledge going into year 13. Be aware that year 13 content is a lot harder than year 12 3. If you're doing an EPQ, if possible get it done before the start of year 13. I left mine until when it was due in, Christmas of year 13, and it was an absolute nightmare because I was also super busy with mocks and uni interviews. I ended up printing it about 2 hours before it was due in Bonus medicine application tips - 4. Do the UCAT as early as possible. I'd definitely recommend getting it done before the end of the summer holidays, because you don't want it hanging over you as you adapt to the increased pressure of year 13. Also make sure you do plenty of practice in timed conditions. It's the timing, not the actual questions, that makes the UCAT difficult 5. Apply to medical schools that suit your profile and that you actually stand a chance of getting an interview at. Don't apply to a medical school that's said they only invite the top UCAT scorers to interview if your UCAT score isn't great. Go for one that's more GCSE or personal statement focused :) If you do get a bad UCAT score, don't panic. There a good few medical schools that don't use it that much I hope this is helpful to someone out there :)
You're literally the only RUclipsr whose videos I watch for the full length! I also used to be someone who'd wake up at 1 PM everyday of summer but this year I've mostly been getting up at 8:30 due to motivation from your videos and I know it's not 5 but it's improved my well-being so much. :)

I'm not from the UK and my education system is pretty different from yours, but I was actually shocked to see that this advice is incredibly accurate and similar to what I've felt this year! I've found it incredibly helpful to do my notes daily, because when it is time to revise it's like I've already worked on that topic. And I don't think people notice how important is to lean on teachers and use their help, they're the ones who go through the experience over and over again and can give you awesome tips. Great video once again, very helpful! Xx
Oh wow really! That's so interesting. I'm always intrigued by how our education systems differ across countries. Thank you so much for the support!! Lots of love x x

I’m starting my A-Levels in September 2020 (hopefully lockdown will be lifting). I’m planing to study: Math, Physics, Geography and Religion.✨My older sister is in the same year as Jade (now in 2nd year of uni) I remember how scary it was watching my sister work so much for A-Levels, but I’m so thankful because as a result I worked really hard from the beginning of my GCSES.
I actually thought that A levels were easier than GCSE's lol. I did Maths, Business and English language, it took me about 3 months to transition into them and then I hit the ground running and found the rest of As and A2 a piece of cake. Achieved AAA in the end. I feel like you scared some people a little, however it does depend on the subjects taken.
Sackboy I would've agreed throughout my first year, I breezed through AS without batting an eye at the work, whereas GCSEs I struggled so much. A2 though, man that hit me like about 20 tons of bricks. I did English Lit, Classical Civilisation, Economics and Geography and this year I dropped Geography and picked up and EPQ, and I don't know if it's having a new fourth which is more independent learning or that the content is harder but it's tough, I'm only just starting to get a handle on it...
The advice you gave about revising throughout sixth form and not at the end, is the best advice I have ever been given. I took what you said into consideration, and it has stood me in good stead. Thank you so much ^-^ xx
I am going to be doing physics chemistry and biology. I heard being a science student isn't easy. So this video has actually brought my mind to the reality that I need to work hard from the onset.
Watching this even though I've just finished A Levels but what you said about crying when you finish year 13... So true! Most stressful year of my life and I always used to consider myself as someone who 'doesn't get stressed'! When I started year 12, I actually found myself pleasantly surprised because everyone said it would be a massive jump from GCSE but I didn't find that at all. (All my subjects were old specification though so that may explain that). So I decided to carry on all 4 subjects into year 13, plus I did an EPQ, and that's when the big jump happened for me! A Level in comparison to AS Level was HARD. So just make sure you're prepared for that jump too! My favourite tip of yours is probably about the mini tests and staying on top of things. There is so much content in A Levels that if you don't make revision notes as you go along, you physically will not have time to do it all by the time the teacher finishes the content. Also, practice essays!! It took me ages to get used to the different writing style from AS Level to A Level so I had to study and study model answers until I wrote in the style of my teacher. Perhaps some people are more natural at doing that themselves but I really struggled and that was the only way I could manage it. Year 13 is exhausting. But look after yourself, and remember, it will not last forever. Plan some good stuff for your summer- it may be the only thing that gets you through that final stretch in exam season. You're doing amazing though so keep going!
Hi Jade! I’ve just finished doing my GCSEs and received great results thanks to your help in giving tips and advice for revision, especially. I think this video will help me a lot as I will be going to sixth form to take A Levels in Psychology, Sociology and English Literature. Thank you for doing videos like these! Stay blessed ;)
@@cynthiaadam7558 You know, although my original comment was sarcastic, I am really enjoying my subjects, having just done my end of years I'm sitting on results I am very happy with because I am so interested in learning about these subjects. Admittedly, the work load is quite heavy but it is certainly worth it as I get a lot of satisfaction out of this combo!

Hello! I'm Jane, I'm doing maths, bio and chemistry. Please could you make a video about your experience with maths - what modules you found particularly hard to grasp, how much time and effort you put on them and what learning techniques you used, how much help you received from your teachers, the exams, what you're expecting from Year 13 I found maths in year 12 tricky and I'm now terrified of moving yet further. Your videos are very clear, informative and well-structured, and you're cool, too, so I guess it would be quite amazing to listen to you talk about it Thank you and have a wonderful day, you're awesome
Jane I love you!! Thank you so much haha 💗 the other day I filmed a general video of my experience of maths a level so far as well as some tips and things like getting help from teachers - I'll probably do a more in depth one in future! It's really useful to know you'd like to see one though, so thank you! Lots of love my friend x
Thanks for your reply, honestly didn't expect you'd actually notice it! Which one is it exactly? I've never done GCSE in the UK and so I've only watched vids that looked relevant to me. Should probably watch what you've filmed on GCSE exams and revision - although there is a huge gap between them and A Levels it'll be interesting to find out more about your learning methods :) Cheers x

Im in year 10 going into year 11 and I’ve just watched your video on how to choose your a level. I think I will choose (4 subjects) government and politics, chemistry, maths and psychology. This is because it’s a combination of things I like aswell as things that are good for my career.
I am going to do A- level German, English literature and Geography, though I do want to take Art. But hopefully I'll enjoy these just as much, also going to go sixth form in September, and haven't even done proper GCSE tests so yeah... Good luck to everyone!
Glad to know that even though I'm in the U.S there's people on the other side of the world taking the same classes and struggling just as much. Really puts things into perspective
Not surprised this 3 year old video was recommended now. Very helpful, I shall take this stuff into account. I'm bracing myself for a sudden huge influx of work right after being in quarantine and doing none

The folder idea is amazing I wish I had done that! I made my notes after the lessons this year (year 13) and I can't even begin to tell you how useful it is especially as you said for mini tests! Good luck for results day everyone!! Also I did English language AS and then carried on business geography health&social care and general studies through to year 13 xxx
nina lethbridge hi! It depends I highly recommend having a coursework based subject but I do wish I'd taken a different one to health and social - I wasn't interested enough in the content although I still put in the effort and got an A☺️ I would say go for it as long as you like the idea of the content - especially if you want a career in the care sector xx
Jade I’m not even half way through but you just made me feel soo much better. I mean I am struggling rn. And even worse I’m an international student from a different system in a different time zone. I was use to having decent grades but it all flopping the these first few months. Thanks ok. Back to the video.
Faye Hashim yeah i get that cause that’s the same as me for chemistry but i feel like if you’re really interested in the subject and you have faith and belief that you can do it, you will :)
saskia anscombe hi I know you wrote this comment a while ago but I’m thinking of taking the same subjects as you, but I’m nervous for biology and especially chemistry! how have you been finding it? would love any advice / tips!! 💗
I'm doing: Software Systems Development (Computer Science stuff, though more programming than hardware theory), Psychology, Maths, and English Lit., which I plan to drop after AS. I like the subject combination since apart from Psychology (and quotations for English Lit.), I don't think there'll be an absolute ton of sitting down and learning content to the extent there was for History GCSE, for example. Though of course the workload will still be much larger than I'm used to. Also, I really like all of them, excepting Psychology which is a new subject in Year 12, but should be interesting regardless of the supposedly huge work load for it in particular. I'm actually super excited for A-levels, though I'm sure that it's probably just the back-to-school-rush rather than A-levels themselves :) I'm finally prepared to become more organised and surpass my shyness to be more independent too. Also, I love your videos so much, and find you to be one the nicest, down-to-earth, and inspirational people I've watched on RUclips, so thank you so much for making these!
HeroofTime47 I'm also taking psychology along with sociology and fine art!! Really excited about psychology it looks really interesting!! Also I too miss the rush of being of being at work, I was lost for the first 3 weeks trying to find things to do! ☺️
Haha yeah I always get so bored over summer; I miss the schedule and I guess the regular satisfaction I get during the school year in having actually been productive; even with all the stress, it's just nice to be doing something! Fine art sounds like a really good subject, even though I hear it's a lot of work. Good luck!
I'm going in september to study biology chemistry and psychology I have to get more work expirience I'm extremely awkward with people but work better in groups and I have severe anxiety disorder... yeah I'm screwed

Are the contents in math and phy in Bio A levels same as the contents in other A levels? Do they differ? Or same units? Another questions plz: should I take 4 subjects or 3 subjects? I don't know I am new to UK!
@@whynottofollowme4312To answer a few of your questions: I feel like you should take maths if you want to do medicine because it's still a science but if you like physics and want to study medical physics choose physics Also I'd recommend to do 3 subjects and an EPQ because universities don't look for 4 a-levels specifically. Plus it's really hard to do 4 a-levels because the workload is going to massive
my sister and I are watching this waiting for our A level ("A2") results and agree with everything you say!! my exams this year were such a mess but hopefully they will sort it out for your year... good luck :)
Start my AS Levels tomorrow and yeah i really do need to knuckle down this year and be more organised. Im doing maths, biology and health and social care
Hey! Is there any chance you'd be able to make a video discussing your opinions of your chosen subjects? I'm not sure of what i should take for a levels because maths doesn't come easy to me (at all!) so can you go off hard work instead of instant understanding?
Town Called Alice i tried maths a level but i dropped it after 4 months. i got an A in my gcse which i had to work for (maths didn't come naturally to me). but a levels are much harder and you start to hate the subjects you loved at gcse. definitely helps to enjoy the subject because that'll get you through it. if it doesn't come at ease to you at gcse, it will be much much harder at a level.
You hit the nail on the head with the jump from gcse to a levels. It took me so long to adjust especially after having really coined the gcse mark schemes. Back then just over half marks was basically a 8/9
I’m in my last weeks of year 12 and I’m rewatching this video! I watched it last year before going in to sixth and my god is this true!!! Everything you said is so accurate to what I’ve found out this year! Didn’t realised how hard sixth form would be!

I don't know if I'm capable of doing A level after what you said. it sounds so hard and near impossible ;as Jade said she got all A* and found it hard (I won't get that so how hard is it going to be for me)
Dark pro Mo it is difficult, you will find some days worse than others, but as long as you're organised and do your home work when you get it, you'll be absolutely fine
Dark pro Mo I think it totally depends on the person and the subjects you're taking, I came out of my GCSEs with pretty much all Bs because I wasn't focusing on just one subject but kind of stretching myself to do good in everything and I really struggled. But seen as A levels are a lot more focused on specifics I'm doing a lot better because I'm only doing subjects that I enjoy or am good at. If you enjoy what you are doing and work hard you should be proud of your results no matter what. xx
Dark pro Mo I feel exactly the same way. Nothing really comes naturally to me when learning so I have to work harder than most people. Knowing this, I'm even more anxious about A level because I will have to work even harder..
I'm starting college this September doing Geography, Environmental Science, Film Studies and Classics. Thank you so much for this video, it has cleared up any worries I have about sixth form. Love your channel as well :)
When we go back to school I will be in year 8, but I will be moving up a year, due to what my teachers call ‘intellectual intelligence”, so I will be basically in year 9. My friend William is moving up as well so I won’t be alone. I know that i am know where near my GCSE’ s but I am watching for future preferences. STAY IN SCHOOL KIDS
Archives Of Autumn lol! I actually found my degree easier 😂 In A-levels there's so much pressure to get good grades and get to uni, but in uni you're your own boss, no nagging from teachers
I'm hoping to do Maths, Further Maths, French and Psychology. At the sixth form I want to go to, you need to do three other A-Levels in order to do Further Maths.
i'm doing biology, chemistry and psychology. and honestly, i'm so excited. i already intend on doing notes after every lesson and using folders. i've always worked so hard and i'm so passionate about science so i'm looking forward to sixth form☺️

I agree with all of these (as someone who's just had their year 13 cut short by covid) :) Some other things that helped me are -
1. Look over the work before the lesson so you at least know what new keywords and stuff mean and you already know the simple concepts so you can just focus on understanding the hard stuff

Bonus medicine application tips -
4. Do the UCAT as early as possible. I'd definitely recommend getting it done before the end of the summer holidays, because you don't want it hanging over you as you adapt to the increased pressure of year 13. Also make sure you do plenty of practice in timed conditions. It's the timing, not the actual questions, that makes the UCAT difficult
5. There a good few medical schools that don't use it that much
I hope this is helpful to someone out there :)

Xx

Same! It’s been a lot more enjoyable to me
what's english language like???
Literally the opposite for me. Just finished A level and it was the two most horrible years of my life.... well so far
@@hannahfox5422 idk why I found this funny, but it was useful information 😂

I am going to be doing physics chemistry and biology. I heard being a science student isn't easy. So this video has actually brought my mind to the reality that I need to work hard from the onset.
Im doing maths, chemistry and physics
no one:
me: rewatching all of jade’s sixth form videos because i start year 12 in a few weeks
Im doing Biology, History , English literature and core maths 🌺

Hello! I'm Jane, I'm doing maths, bio and chemistry.
Please could you make a video about your experience with maths - what modules you found particularly hard to grasp, how much time and effort you put on them and what learning techniques you used, how much help you received from your teachers, the exams, what you're expecting from Year 13
I found maths in year 12 tricky and I'm now terrified of moving yet further. Your videos are very clear, informative and well-structured, and you're cool, too, so I guess it would be quite amazing to listen to you talk about it
Thank you and have a wonderful day, you're awesome
Jane I love you!! Thank you so much haha 💗 the other day I filmed a general video of my experience of maths a level so far as well as some tips and things like getting help from teachers - I'll probably do a more in depth one in future! It's really useful to know you'd like to see one though, so thank you! Lots of love my friend x
Thanks for your reply, honestly didn't expect you'd actually notice it!
Which one is it exactly? I've never done GCSE in the UK and so I've only watched vids that looked relevant to me. saskia anscombe hi I know you wrote this comment a while ago but I’m thinking of taking the same subjects as you, but I’m nervous for biology and especially chemistry! how have you been finding it? would love any advice / tips!! 💗
I'm doing English Lit, history and philosophy!
I'm doing:
Software Systems Development (Computer Science stuff, though more programming than hardware theory), Psychology, Maths, and English Lit., which I plan to drop after AS.

Another questions plz: should I take 4 subjects or 3 subjects? I don't know I am new to UK!
@@whynottofollowme4312To answer a few of your questions:
I feel like you should take maths if you want to do medicine because it's still a science but if you like physics and want to study medical physics choose physics
Also I'd recommend to do 3 subjects and an EPQ because universities don't look for 4 a-levels specifically. Plus it's really hard to do 4 a-levels because the workload is going to massive
Would love a GCSE/Year 11 version of this x

Hey! Is there any chance you'd be able to make a video discussing your opinions of your chosen subjects? I'm not sure of what i should take for a levels because maths doesn't come easy to me (at all!) so can you go off hard work instead of instant understanding?
I literally filmed this 2 days ago!! I filmed a video on each of my subjects hahaha I hope that'll help x
UnJaded Jade that would be perfect! thank you so much for everything you're doing i'm positive you're helping so many people 💜💜
With maths I think you can deffo go off hard work, most of the questions are repetitive and if you learn the rules you can do decently well :-)
Town Called Alice i tried maths a level but i dropped it after 4 months. i got an A in my gcse which i had to work for (maths didn't come naturally to me). but a levels are much harder and you start to hate the subjects you loved at gcse. definitely helps to enjoy the subject because that'll get you through it. if it doesn't come at ease to you at gcse, it will be much much harder at a level.
Yess same i m so confused about subjects too. Can u favour me by giving advice about subjects

Dark pro Mo If you take subjects you genuinely enjoy and are good at ,and put a lot of effort in them then there's no problem
If you enjoy what you are doing and work hard you should be proud of your results no matter what. xx
Dark pro Mo I feel the same way bro :/
Dark pro Mo I feel exactly the same way. Nothing really comes naturally to me when learning so I have to work harder than most people. Knowing this, I'm even more anxious about A level because I will have to work even harder..
I'm starting college this September doing Geography, Environmental Science, Film Studies and Classics. Thank you so much for this video, it has cleared up any worries I have about sixth form. Love your channel as well :)
