Duane had a LOT of talent. I bowled league with him in early '80s.He was attending Community College at the time. Rolled a 780 against us at Maple Bowl while doing homework in between shots. Nice kid, lots of natural ability.
Man I love these old shows. This was a Saturday afternoon staple of my childhood. Looking back though, people REALLY looked alot older than they were. D'Entremont (RIP) is only 29 here but looks well into his 40's. I guess actually having to be a grown up much sooner than you have to now caused some physical aging
Duane didn't make a lot of shows but he had an awesome physical game. I didn't remember he'd won a title. Been waiting to see him on RUclips for awhile now!
And if I am not mistaken, this was the final tournament that Duane Fisher bowled in on the PBA Tour. But I tell you, this guy made it look effortless!! Could you imagine if he was like this on Tour today? He'd probably bowl so many 900 series that it would be a record!!
Great show and awesome to see this. Duane was probably the best lefty on the East Coast in the early 80s. Not really surprising to see why given how devastating his ball roll was. I think he would have done well had he been as bowling-obsessed as Parker, but there was more to life than the tour life. Sucks that we never got to see if he could have added further titles, but in a way it makes what he did all that more special. He took advantage of his one opportunity and made the most of it. That's all you can ask for.
Duane fisher could have been top 5 lefties of all time. He threw it that good. The left looked pretty good. When devers is throwing 6 packs the left is nice.
I don't care what anyone else said back then, Mike Miller was the MOST powerful bowler on the PBA at this time!! I know that Monacelli was talked about as well as being the most powerful, but NO, Mike Miller revolutionized the sport of bowling with the thumb-less delivery!!
@irishpogi How come Duane Fisher just up and retired after winning here? And yeah Jim Pencak had that undefeated run on TV in 1990; but shortly afterwards also vanished.
Hey Duane great!! I bowled against u in the JBT junior tournaments this was great all the best JG

Now it looks to me as if people in their 40's look like they're in their 20's!!!

He made a show with Parker in doubles.
He out struck Parker and threw it way better. Duane threw it as good as anybody on the planet

Surprising result. never knew he won a title.

The 4 matches were exciting and close
Andrew Phillips what match #3 were you watching? Getting whipped by 30+ pins isn’t close!

Do you have the hammer eastern open from 1990 and 1991?
it was an amazing title match between Jess Stayrook and Duane Fisher
Only because stayrook jumped in to where Duane was playing. Or he was done
Duane fisher threw a clutch strike in both of his matches to win the Budweiser touring players championship
Andrew Phillips a clutch strike when you win by more than 30 pins? You’re funny besides posting spoilers!
Devers employing the effeminate bowling style
