This was extremely clear and I was easily able to cut my conduit. Novice builder approved!
Awesome! I am glad that you found it helpful. Thanks for the comment!
Idk anything about this sort of thing & these videos have been so helpful to me. Thanks!! Great explanations!!
thank you for the video as I've been trying to figure out what the debur tool was used for.
Looking forward to building a perfect size rain shelter and string trellis support for my odd size, totally exposed balcony with a less bulky and more long lasting material than wood. No compromising on shelter for my chair or sun for my plants, and i will be able to tie it down to the railing unlike an umbrella.
In addition, with this tool I can do it all from my apartment with no garage, power tools shop vac etc which I thought was going to block me from most DIY. I think you should really play up the apartment friendliness of this material because I had no idea
Really helpful video for a newb like myself. Thank you!
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching
As you rotate the cutter, one direction will tend to pull the conduit into the tool, and the other direction will tend to push the conduit out of the tool. Rotate the direction that pulls the conduit into the tool. It is less effort for you and less strain on the tool. If you do not overtighten the wheel, rotating the cutter is easy, basically a one finger operation. Also holding the tubing is trivial. Use a vice? Never. Need a handle? Never. Gloves? Only to keep hands clean and avoid possible zinc slivers from damaged tubing.
Great tips Sylvan!
I appreciate you this is gonna help me in college for my career
And your major is?
Great tip quick easy to understand video…
Thanks MKE!
would this work on rigid EMT?
Hi there, thanks for the question. I think the wall of rigid conduit is too thick of steel for this specific cutter. I'm pretty sure they make a similar style cutter that is heavier duty and capable of cutting Rigid conduit.
Only recommend this in a pinch because it reduces the conduits interior diameter causing conductors to rub on or your fishtape when pulling wire
Isn't that what the deburring takes care of?
Do you have a product link? Thanks.
Yes, you can find the cutter here. makerpipe.com/collections/modular-pipe-fittings/products/emt-conduit-cutter
Didn't see the link for using a metal cutting bandsaw.
Sorry about that! Not sure why it wasn't showing. Here is the video if you are interested.

Wear gloves! I got some bad blisters working on my first project. I think I was overtightening the cutter.
That's a good thing to keep in mind for sure. Thanks for the comment!
