    I find it funny how these prosecutors go after companies like google and facebook and end up with multi million dollar settlements and fines that never go to the people who were directly affected by these companies.
    Instead, a class action suit gets going and everyone affected gets a check for $11.99 and that’s being generous.

    on the one hand I think it actually makes sense to have monopolies and NOT to have hundreds of different companies competing with each other and all of these companies offering slightly different products and services creating a nightmare world of trying to decide what product is the best to buy or use.......but on the other hand I wonder how a monopoly can be given the incentive to continuously improve and innovate.

      Monopolies don't necessarily depend on intellectual property laws. And Google in particular has often been up against intellectual property laws. I'm not defending those laws as we have them, which are extremely pro-corporate, but that's a different if somewhat related issue.

    • @user-wl2xl5hm7k

      @@RadicalCaveman But why don’t you learn about how IP laws function before publicly concluding like that? Your statements here are actually very misguided. Help yourself:
      Against Intellectual Monopoly is the most informative book humanity has on IP laws now. Against Intellectual Property is _another_ incredible essay, but it’s written with right-libertarian rhetoric so if you’re, like me, not right-libertarian you’ll have to read with an open mind and extract the info. _Only_ these two texts are the gold standard when it comes to intellectual property.

    Interesting how this video taps into to the “cashless society” conversation. The big fintech companies make it sound like an inevitable to have ONLY card payment. Of course that isn’t cash. Cash is FREE to use, and the worse competitor you can have is one which comes free. Interesting as always Mr Wolff. Thank you.

    The American people hear the head line, "google guilty of monopoly", and then they go 'ahh, good, problem solved'. The 'people' then fail to demand a consequence that matters and instead lament 'nothing ever happens to those corporate criminals'. If the 'people' don't 'demand' that this company's leaders actually be held accountable in a meaningful way, then the 'people' are at fault for their own problems. Seems they are getting a good amount of payback to a society who's people have forgotten they have a responsibility to hold the government accountable and it's a responsibility the people have neglected so keep that in mind in your own internal dialog with what is wrong with the country.

    Wtf! It's amazing what a mobile phone has become it's amazing how much information they can r ape from you without you even knowing it.
    A great example of this is you used to be able to take the battery out of your phone now it's impossible and the reason that is, is because even when your phone is switched off, it is still tracking you.

    We must fully criticize and _always vote_ *against* (& less authoritarian than) both the Republican *and* Democratic Parties- including *Kamala Harris,* AOC, all of the squad, Bernie Sanders, Edward Markey, Mark Pocan, the justice democrats, & all other democrats. For _all_ public positions. And this same strategy applies against the one or more party-monopolies in _all_ countries worldwide.
    Real progressives will never be Democratic Members or Democratic loyalists. Never vote for _any_ Republican member or loyalist either.
    If no candidates for a position fit that bill:
    -Where _write-ins_ are permissible, always write-in an anti-authoritarian person;
    -Where write-ins aren’t permissible, always vote uncommitted or leave the ballot blank.
    This will continuously reduce the power of _all_ authoritarian parties in the party monopolies: Until our task is complete.
    Repeat strategy for all new authoritarian parties that emerge.
