So Driver was already kind of stuck with that image. In reality, she has a rather ordinary face, like someone you remember from school, someone you'd see walking down a street. But she got the glam treatment that everyone working in big Hollywood movies gets and does look attractive. Just not as attractive as some other Hollywood actresses and stars. But in Britain and Australia, they don't select as much for looks as they do for training and talent. Lots of actresses on the more ordinary side working in Britain and Australia. The same goes for actors too. And they get better roles than the "pretty love interest" type roles that Hollywood often serves up. In any case, Driver should consider herself fortunate that Weinstein didn't find her attractive and didn't make moves on her.

I've always found this story hard to believe. Not that I'm a huge Matt Damon fan, but it just seems like maybe there was some kind of honest misunderstanding? Were they even hanging out at the time (I know celebrity couples often end up long periods of time apart)? I just find it odd that she references what Matt said on Letterman "1 month earlier" and not, like, "Everything seemed fine this morning."
I also was thinking a month is a LONG time, even for people who travel a lot apart from each other so it really doesn't matter that he was still into her then. I also feel like Matt probably thought that was what he was saying in some conversation they had but that it wasn't clear (probably because when guys break up with someone, sometimes they are trying to find a way to soften the blow) and if she was still in it, she may not have tuned in well enough to what he was trying to say.
