It isn't one person's exclusive private property where their home is situated. Also being a good neighbor entails not immediately calling neighbors racists and using racial slurs and live streaming them when they just wanted to make sure you live there becasue you just moved in and they don't recognise you

As a cop, I can’t even begin to tell you how many Karens put us in positions like this all the time based on nothing at all. I can also usually tell by the dispatch exactly when we’re getting sent to nonsense like this, but we don’t have the option to not go to calls that we are dispatched to no matter how stupid it sounds. Usually as long as I get a chance to explain that to people they’re receptive to it and we can laugh it off and go on about our day, but then there’s the activists that want to blame me and say I’m “harassing” them when I don’t want to be there in the first place. It’s the idiots like these people that call Police and put us in these situations that we don’t want to be in nor do we care about at all. Also, I could never live in a neighborhood with a HOA. People are high as hell thinking I’m gonna pay them to bother me about my landscaping or where I can park and how many cars I can have etc…property taxes are bad enough.

She probably do not want to refer to him as "A black guy" but she is going to find out if he lives in the neighborhood or not, she would do the same if he were white. Most white people would just confirm they live in the neighborhood, even point out their house, and defiantly not turn it into a racial issue and set any concerns aside understanding the situation for what it actually is. She had a smile and asked politely if they were residents, they were rude. The board member man seemed a bit rude but the video is cut and he might be responding to another member's report and already expecting BS or he approached friendly and saw they were hostile. Imagine moving into a new neighborhood, knowing about the rule, then getting offended when someone that lives there doesn't recognize you and turning it into a race issue.

      Everyone sees things differently.
You only get one chance to make a first impression.
They chose to live in this community, is this really how they want to be perceived by their community? By their new neighbors? As difficult?
They're new to a community. Being black and an all-white or predominantly white community of course they're going to stick out.
But to presume that's a reason why they're approaching them is only because of their race, in my opinion makes them the racist.
These people chose to approach them, to inquire whether they live there or not.
They could have just called the police and had them deal with it. This would have escalated it to a whole new level. Because in their arrogant response of I don't have to explain myself I don't have to inform anyone that yes I'm new to the neighborhood Yes I am a residents of the neighborhood You do that with the cops and you're going to find yourself arrested.
In my opinion, this couple's reaction causes a lot more problems than it solves.

Dad taught me to always ask "Any bites?" when passing fishermen on the beach or jetty. As a kid, I thought this was nosy because I lacked confidence. I now know Dad was teaching me to socialise in situations with minimal chances of rejection, as fishermen are generally friendly and have time to chat. My dad knows 1000 fishermen up and down the coast, if only for an hour or so...
