He didn't mention that there also self leveling. Put your mother in law in the back seat and the car automatically self levels. How cool is that in 55 ?!!
No, they didn't! Part of why the car was so successful was its looks. Most of why the car is iconic is its looks. Do you know what other 50s/60s big sedans/saloons looked like?
My next door neighbor, AirForce, was stationed in France in the 60's he bought two of these! One for him and the other for his wife! Pretty sure they were the only two in Albuquerque N.M. back in the 70's!😎
The old Citroen we had when I was a kid had the 3 ride heights but the highest was locked against the top of the travel. It wasn't for driving, but for changing the wheel. No jack was required.
On the newer models the backs of the front seats would fold back to make one big bed of the interior of the car. Single spoke steering wheel w/a reach through shifter and the elevator controls on the left side ahead of the driver’s door on the floor…. They were WAY COOL.
It's just your opinion. Designers (and artists who could afford one) went crazy for them. If they were a contemporary car, Steve Jobs would have had one.
That is, very cool, I really like the old citroens
My first car in Australia was a 1962 Aussie assembled ID19. I thrashed that car on country roads.. great fun speedy and economical.

Ahead of its time? Its a millennia behind the times. It's one of the world's ugliest vehicles. But that's just my opinion.
