I have a bird question so I am a new owner of 2 budgies and I was hoping if you have any tips on feeding? For example any good diets they are a few months old. 🐦
Hi, congratulations on your new Budgies. Feed quality pellets, limit seed as too much seed can cause fatty liver disease. Offer lots of fresh foods such as Romain lettuce, spring mix, kale and other dark leafy greens. Berries, carrots, cucumber, apples, grapes, peas, corn, quinoa, brown rice and more can be offered. Do not give sweets, onions, avocado or junk food. Millet can be a treat.
Your welcome, focus on the dark greens, broccoli and berries and less surgery foods like Apple and grapes, I cut them up small and offer a few times a week but greens and veggies everyday. Mine have started to like cucumber. Also a nice parakeet mix is Australian goldenfeast. If you want the link to it I can put it here.
Your dad should learn to not do that and to sneak a pill 💊 in his favorite food unless the pet isn’t eating cuz that can cause the animals to choke on the pill
Oh my goodness, I am SO impressed! I've always claimed to be an animal lover but after watching your video, I don't hold a candle to that kind of devotion. You didn't even show the time it takes to clean their cages, kennels, etc. Did I hear you right that you do all of this before you go to work in the morning? I would think the animals would be full-time. But then one would have to work to afford all of those goodies.:) My hat is off to you. Be carful because this person feeds her bird a way to high proportion of fruit to veggies it should be 20% pellet, 50% veggies, 8% fruit, 10% seeds, 2% treats, 10% grains she doesn’t even feed pellets, seeds, or grains in this video 😬

I am disappointed you think I don't feed my birds properly. Just because I show feeding fresh foods, it does not mean I don't feed the anything else. I am very knowledgeable in bird health. Our knowledge of bird nutrition is constantly evolving. This is due both to heightened awareness of the importance of nutrition and to increased research into birds' different needs. As with all other animals, birds need a proper balance of carbohydrates, proteins, fat, vitamins, minerals, and water. Different species of birds often require different foods. Poor nutrition is a common reason for many health problems in birds.
Your counter looks like mine in the morning with all the fruits and vegetables. I have a blue and gold macaw 🦜 and a aviary full of various types of finches and canaries. Three dogs, four cats, a pond with turtles and koi as well as two horses, 34 chickens, seven goats and one granddaughter. Once everyone is fed and delivered to school, it’s coffee time. It’s always a busy and happy morning. 😌☀️

😂😂 birds have so much character. I know someone who has parrots and let's then free roam the bird room sometimes. Anyways they rescued a new parrot who had an attitude. Said good afternoon, and he told me to f off. 😂😂 guessing the previous owners taught him that. The other parrots say something's but never swear lol. We all laughed like what a rude lil guy haha. This is so relaxing. I love the 3 pretty puppies, and the colourful birds. I have animals too, they keep me active. I live in the city so I have 3 cats, 3 guineas, 2 hammies. This is so my mornings. I line up all the bowls and start making everyone breakfast.
Btw...when I was in my late 30's and newly married I had 11 ferrets, 2 cats, 2 birds, 2 dwarf hamsters, and 2 gerbils. The ferrets were high maintenance but so much fun! I worked full time at a pet store back then.
One of my favorite things to watch is my small colony of society finches, 7 in all, all pile into the same birdbath to have a communal shower together in the morning and then drying out under their light I have on their cage!

I had a Senegal too. I had her 30 yrs. Losing her was very hard but we enjoyed each other for a long time. I have a Blue Front Amazon and Alexandrine & two budgies. They're my babies...plus 8 bettas. Didn’t know that hay is the main diet for bunnies. I always thought it was carrots. The bunnies ate all their salad fast. Do the birds also clean off their bowls of salad too? Mine only eat one whole leaf at the most. How long does this whole morning routine take? Do you do this twice daily? This is indeed a labor of love.
Jenna Stevenson actually if you don’t feed any hay it will kill them, because it will cause their stomach to go into stasis. They won’t be able to digest anything if they don’t have a 70-80% hay diet.

I just wanted to chime in and share how you recently helped me with feeding my two parakeets “fresh” fruits and veggies. Until I saw how you offer these in a stainless steel bowl...I could not get my birds to eat from clips or smaller vessels. The bowl idea was KEY!! So thank you for helping me get a better diet on board. You rock!! 🙌🏻🐤🐦

If I was one of the animals I would love you as my mom, most people just feed there dogs dry food but you make a whole meal for them that seems like they think is tasty, seeing as they gobbled it down. You also made whole saleds for your birds/bunnies/hamster and give your fish worms (well some of them) you are such a good mom to them!
I use to feed my dogs a mixture of dry food with veggies, chicken and either rice or pasta and they loved it!! But now I only have 1 dog and she developed diabetes (not because of her diet) and she can only eat a special dry food.
Wow O.o lots of dedication 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 well done! I want to start a bird shelter when I am older so I can save more birds from being left somewhere where they are just a decoration and get them to good owners who will play with them and tame them and bond with them 🤗
There's a Senegal parrot at my job that I absolutely adore. He is the same way where he only likes certain people and I'm lucky to be one of them. He's such a sweet bird.

teardropface Yes hay is main diet of rabbits. It can take me 20 minutes to 45 minutes depending on how fast I move, lol.

There's a Senegal parrot at my job that I absolutely adore. He is the same way where he only likes certain people and I'm lucky to be one of them. He's such a sweet bird.
