@@FilmSupplyClub for sure. Appreciate your content! Bought the shirt, just picked up my Hasselblad 503CW, so I’m excited to get some film and start creating too. Thanks for the video!
Hey Braedon. I think something is not right here regarding stopping down/dark screen/focusing. The beauty of the Hasselblad is that the lenses are wide open no matter what aperture is set until the shutter is fired, and then the selected aperture stops down only for the shot. The view through the finder should always be bright to aide focusing. I double checked with my Hasselblad to confirm. I set my lens to F22, though the aperture is wide open when viewing the front of the lens, I fired the shutter, only then it stops down and opens up wide again after the shot. Maybe you could check with a friend, a fellow Hasselblad shooter on this. Once you sort this out it should make your focusing easier. Cheers...
Yeah, that was weird. An aperture pre-selection mechanism is so common. Why would such a feature packed and super ergonomic Hasselblad not have that feature? It's even easier to implement with a leaf shutter in the lens. Better check that dof preview lever next time. Just a tiny fail.
Loved this video. I just purchased my first Hasselblad...the exact same 500cm but with an 150mm F4 lens. Simultaneously terrified and excited to use such a prestigious film camera.
Oh man. In Germany I walk from point a to b all day and hardly find any motifs for my prints. From a photographic point of view, I envy every American. You have so many motifs, I couldn't afford that many films
Your passion for photography is so palpable in these videos, such an awesome thing to share with people :)
Thanks so much to saying that. The passion is real.
you have the depth of field lever engaged. slide it back into place and all is bright any aperture
Dark ground glass at f22? Probably the depth-of-field preview lever was stuck on your CFE lens?
Those balloon shots are brilliant.
Thanks so much. Definitely a fun find that morning!

Such a good feeling...that anticipation of firing off a new camera that you're excited to use. Hasselblads are magic to shoot with. Enjoy!

@stevenchen on Clubhouse and stoked to listen in on some conversations!
See you there!
Need invite to the clubhouse:)
It's still invite only? That's crazy. Ping any friends you know are on it.
@@FilmSupplyClub it is invite only for now
@Aleksandras S - I’m in the same boat. Needing an invite. Seems to be some sort alchemy I haven’t figured out yet.
Whoever named that town deserves a medal. 😂
Thought the same thing!
Victor made two versions of the 500CM, one for Europe called the Hasselblad and one for the US market called the Hauselblad.
