Something that's also worth mention for the Railgunner is that the perfect reload also works on her special abilities (R), because obviously she needed more damage :^)
focused assault + hardlight = hit 5 enemies for 100% uptime... but you don't actually need to wait for the expose to go off before you can go again. It puts blinding assault with hardlight to absolute shame. 3x the damage output, and no limit to the number of times it can be used if you are overwhelmed.
@@kadinnui2282i think its because of the expose proc that it does. Merc's main thing for damage has mainly come from the expose provd from my experience
@@kadinnui2282Expose proc reduces all your cooldowns by 1 second and increases the damage you do for that attack. The Expose transfer tech gives you an initial set of Expose on the dash in, a second later the assault damage kicks in and procs expose, then gives the expose debuff again. If you keep hitting enough enemies you can dash back and forth infinitely dealing much higher damage than blinding's hard limit of 3. It's a higher skill floor but much better reward.

I love Bandit and especially Desperado, the character feels so skill intensive while giving this massive reward for doing well, it's a great survivor class and I'm unsurprised to see Desperado ranked so high.
New equipment: Mini Artificer Drone Summons mini drone with all of Artificer's abilities that lasts until the end of the stage. Can only be used once per three stages.
I say it all the time I'll say it again, a damage boost on frag grenade would be amazing but what I would vastly prefer is if it blew up on contact with enemies. My god it would make grenade feel SO much better to use, and viable against flying enemies. Would it deal a lot of damage? No, but it would be FUN to use and that's all that matters to me
Focused assault may be more effective, but the other 3 dash one is way more fun, you can clear 3 wisps at level 1 and also use wisps to get to high places. and the other R is also more fun, being invincible is cool and it's more dashing to go along with ur other dash. if you like going fast even if it's suboptimal, i recommend everyone try mercenary out. once you get used to having no ranged primary it's great!
I feel Mercenary is one of the very few survivors where no skill really outperform the other. They just do different things really well. Also one of the very few survivors that can seemingly work with almost anything the RNG gods decide to throw at you. I didn't use him much yet, but I'm climbing eclipse with him now and he's very quickly becoming one of my favorites.
I think they're both just about as fun, 3 dashes is super cool and in a vacuum more fun, but chaining expose for the massive cooldown reduction makes Mercenary feel like one of the most smooth characters in the game
Sniper's primary scope is good, but I prefer the combat scope as it allows Sniper to build attack speed which is really funny and pairs well with Shatterspleen
me too, I also like the default R ability, the super shot. nice thing about this game is that 95% of abilities are good in their own way, which I feel a lot of games lack
The damage is lower, but the better fire rate means I can quickly deal with multiple enemies. The fact that it shoots fast enough to chain stagger animations means you can basically stun lock things that dont get one shot. Fire rate on the default scope changes reload timing as well, which makes items like Predatory Instincts and warbanner a liability as you have to account for the changing timings
Sniper's Combat Scope is flat better imo. More hits with less reloading means less time for enemies to kill you. You have an attack designed for bosses that can be paired with this. Naturally getting damage items will still lead to 1-shotting most enemies and bosses. These builds pair with your primary much better giving you more viable tools and makes more items useful to you.
to be honest, i like lights out more than desperado for bandit. i get that desperado can do a bajillion damage, but the cooldown reset of desperado just feels sooooo good. i like skeet shooting lesser wisps so much.
revolver chaining vs the revolver snowball is definitely a debate with no right answers, which is what an unlockable alternate ability should always be

i feel like rex is really underrated, i managed to solo the game in a hour or a bit more with it since the healing abilities stacked with fungus and ukelele is quite op

Very true, on monsoon you can face tank the first 2 teleporters while dishing out absurd damage, even with minor healing and piss poor damage items. Later on feathers are very important though, you feel the movement reduction otherwise
I still think that the mercenary's first abilities are the strongest, yes with focused assault you have some good crowd control and then a sort of execute with the other special ability, but with his main dash you start off within the game, and the eye frames from the second special ability (eviscerate) give you much more survivability than whatever the focused assault would ever give you, not only that but it's a much longer duration of cc due to the fact you can do it 3 times in a row PLUS it has eye frames on top of it, easily one of the best if not the best moves mercenary offers when you're doing eclipse runs which really matter on being able to survive and dish out damage at the same time, but as we all know, eviscerate is his strongest without a doubt because those EYEFRAMMMES MMMH.
3:45 this is true actually. 25 years old with ADHD and I have found no more effective way of banishing all those millions of thought trains tearing through my head all the time than good old Devil's Lettuce. I can actually finally focus on things with it

I don’t understand the hate for flamethrower on arty, if you get full bleed chance or crit chance, you can get like 50 stacks off on a boss, although I understand that the ion surge is better because movement
The bleed won’t last until the next flamethrower tho, so it’s just a damage increase rather than something to base your build around. 10 watches would be better.

I do know why people like ion surge more, because it is just better as it is movement when artificer has n0o other, but when people hate on flamethrower I'm always like why? its still pretty good on its own, especially with an ignition tank, but yeah it can be very good, but only in specific circumstances

I really don't like how focussed assault doesn't let you M2 cancel immediately. The slicing winds focussed assault combo often keeps you out of melee range, and I don't like that. I personally belive you are wrong in saying that focussed is merc's strongest ability. Every single ability is his strongest depending on who you ask and how you play him.

Loader tbh best character. Most fun especially end game going so fast that u fly across everything and doing insane rushes through enemies and punching the shit out of everything is just great. Especially if you do a spinal tonic build.
Can we add a honorable mention to utility ability of the Heretic ? "NOOOO YOU CANT ADD IT! THATS AN ITEM THA-" shush! anyway, 3 seconds of healing around a quarter of your max HP, giving you movment AND removes your hitbox COMPLETLY ? like. you are unkillabe in it. you can even survive a Void implosion.
i think the faster DMR type shot for railgunner is better for a more well rounded kit, you already have the R for one shot potential, and while yes the bonus damage could make it EVEN BETTER, do you really need it in most situations?
The thing I hate about Poison is that it doesn't kill enemies, it only puts them to 1 health. I can't count the times I've died on stage 1, because 5 or more flying enemies survived, and I couldn't pick them off in time.
when it comes to the turrets, i do think both are good. its just the facto that you need lotta different items for the walkers than for the talkers. standing still in ror is pretty much a death sentence and while, yes the mushrooms can help, it doesnt protect the stationary turrets from a barrelfull of elder lemurian stinkbreath or any other lingering effects such as the mushroom spores. both turrets have their advantages and disadvantages, its ultimately a choice of preference
how is railgunners classic special worse than cryocharge? it does double damage, and ik about the cooldown, but wouldnt it just work better with crowbar
Bands activatr on atacks that deal more than 600% prrcent base damage it meant that you cant realy make atacks that didnt proc them at 1 level you cant make a different but there are few items that can ptoc them for example shurkens come equpment bands it slef works preaty simple if you make atack that can ptoc them they activate ice band deaps 3 times damage instantly fire band deals it over time but in aoe procked band are separated atack for example if you dealt 1000 damage you will make 1000 plus 3000 instantly from ice band and 3000 over time from fire band total of 7000 also bands can proc from atg wich deals ×3 damage of atack that procked it (x6 on 2 x9 on 3) but atack that procked atg must deal at least 600 base damage i forgot to explain base damage works every character have stat of damage i dont remember numbers but lets say comando have 100 damge stat it means that his primary wich deal 100% damage it meant that he will deal 100 damage with is primary if he uses atack that deals 600% damage it will deal 600 damage plus bands (i hope you understood i m incapable of writing short comments lol)
ok so i think first part is kinda hardto understand i meant that if you have atack that deal less than 600 precent base damage you cant make it proc band by using crowbars waches crits crystals but you can proc it by atgs
IMO only way to buff commando grenade is by making it explode on impact, or at least let us cook the grenade so we can have it detonate on flying enemies.
Personally, I'm a bigger fan of Thunder Gauntlet for a couple reasons. Crowd control, being able to wipe out several enemies just be putting them in a line. Wisps and Blind Pests are both little shits that I hate dealing with, so it makes the early game bearable. And lastly, Thunder Gauntlet looks sick as hell.
YOU FORGOT SOMETHING, MATE Both of Bandit's revolvers have Slayer Slayer increases the attacks damage output dependant on the health remaining on target at a rate of every 1% missing is 2% extra damage up to x3 damage In otherwords, not only does Desperado do theoretically infinite damage, but pass me a Will'o Wisp, and a Ukulele, and watch me turn this single target damage pistol whip into a crowd based chum making machine
Yeah artificer is by far one of the best balanced characters, with that damn "I'm going to blow a hole in a army" bomb and the execution spear that is supposedly a "nano spear". I mean it freezes and allows a insta kill at 30%, on the final boss, HOW IS THAT NOT BUSTED AS FUCK
I would say the stationary charts aren’t very good at all but they technically attack incredibly fucking fast because it’s a laser beam so the procs are absolutely insane so something like ukulele is extremely good because they just waddle around and chain to so many things. Oh an You can give them the Tesla coil which is just stupid

Extra tip, Diablo strike becomes even more effective with Effigy of Grief. It can not only slow down enemies but makes bosses slow down to a crawl.

The thing I hate about Poison is that it doesn't kill enemies, it only puts them to 1 health. I can't count the times I've died on stage 1, because 5 or more flying enemies survived, and I couldn't pick them off in time.
when it comes to the turrets, i do think both are good. its just the facto that you need lotta different items for the walkers than for the talkers. standing still in ror is pretty much a death sentence and while, yes the mushrooms can help, it doesnt protect the stationary turrets from a barrelfull of elder lemurian stinkbreath or any other lingering effects such as the mushroom spores. both turrets have their advantages and disadvantages, its ultimately a choice of preference
how is railgunners classic special worse than cryocharge? it does double damage, and ik about the cooldown, but wouldnt it just work better with crowbar

I don’t quite get the math on the bands explained in the Diablo strike section. Can someone explain it to me?
Bands activatr on atacks that deal more than 600% prrcent base damage it meant that you cant realy make atacks that didnt proc them at 1 level you cant make a different but there are few items that can ptoc them for example shurkens come equpment bands it slef works preaty simple if you make atack that can ptoc them they activate ice band deaps 3 times damage instantly fire band deals it over time but in aoe procked band are separated atack for example if you dealt 1000 damage you will make 1000 plus 3000 instantly from ice band and 3000 over time from fire band total of 7000 also bands can proc from atg wich deals ×3 damage of atack that procked it (x6 on 2 x9 on 3) but atack that procked atg must deal at least 600 base damage i forgot to explain base damage works every character have stat of damage i dont remember numbers but lets say comando have 100 damge stat it means that his primary wich deal 100% damage it meant that he will deal 100 damage with is primary if he uses atack that deals 600% damage it will deal 600 damage plus bands (i hope you understood i m incapable of writing short comments lol)
ok so i think first part is kinda hardto understand i meant that if you have atack that deal less than 600 precent base damage you cant make it proc band by using crowbars waches crits crystals but you can proc it by atgs
IMO only way to buff commando grenade is by making it explode on impact, or at least let us cook the grenade so we can have it detonate on flying enemies.

Personally, I'm a bigger fan of Thunder Gauntlet for a couple reasons. Crowd control, being able to wipe out several enemies just be putting them in a line. Wisps and Blind Pests are both little shits that I hate dealing with, so it makes the early game bearable. And lastly, Thunder Gauntlet looks sick as hell.

Slayer increases the attacks damage output dependant on the health remaining on target at a rate of every 1% missing is 2% extra damage up to x3 damage
In otherwords, not only does Desperado do theoretically infinite damage, but pass me a Will'o Wisp, and a Ukulele, and watch me turn this single target damage pistol whip into a crowd based chum making machine

Yeah artificer is by far one of the best balanced characters, with that damn "I'm going to blow a hole in a army" bomb and the execution spear that is supposedly a "nano spear". I mean it freezes and allows a insta kill at 30%, on the final boss, HOW IS THAT NOT BUSTED AS FUCK
