i think that pletnev should deff record all piano works written by prokofiev ... there are great recordings , but none of them are truly amazing ... like magically amazing , even those played/recorded by composer ... only pletnev can go as deep as those piano works "require".
Pletnev is a genius to put it simply. As Marta Argerich described him “23rd century pianist”. There is simply no one else playing the piano like him. Yes, classical music is dead, yes, nobody can actually appreciate what this man does... none of it makes him less great
Not the best reply to give to someone making a kind gesture, but I get his point. Giving a middle-age man flowers at the end of a performance is silly. Were it me I'd just hand them to a woman in the audience.
Gorgeous piano touched by a god of the piano.
Pletnev has truly unique talent for improvisation, impressive.
he has a golden tone like Gilels.

thank you! :)
This was filmed in Moscow in 2009 :)
Yes!
Bluthner is not always ideal for the concert hall. That being said, I would kill to have one in my living room...
He felt cold? Why was the camera woman in light wear?
Was this improvisation!?
