As a girl who enjoys Stephen King I love your content. I don't find many women booktubers who read King (maybe I just haven't found them yet) and your enthusiasm for it gets me excited to read more of his chonky books! 😂 You have such a kind manner when you discuss the less savory aspects of his work, I find they often go completely unmentioned and you can get blindsided when you come across them in his books. Sometimes I feel like they serve a purpose in demonstrating just how evil and twisted a character is, but other times they seem very gratuitous. That said, I simply can't deny his ability to create characters and worlds that seem so real they jump off the page, and I find his books worth reading even if there are parts I dislike. All that to say I appreciate your content and commentary, it is always enjoyable to watch and makes me even more excited for reading! 👏📚
Hey Francesca! I feel the same way about woman RUclipsrs and King. I started my own channel and I’m really leaning into King this year. I have a video essay on Carrie coming up and a vlog for the Dark Tower books coming up, as well.
Seriously, 100 pages from Stephen King goes by like 30 pages from someone else. So fantastic I almost think some of his longer works aren’t long enough. 112263. I could’ve definitely taken more of town life in that book.😂
Always enjoy your reading vlogs! Would you consider doing a 'Which stephen king to read first' video broken down into categories? Like, best place to start for horror readers, best place to start for scifi readers, best place to start for fantasy readers etc? I think it would be pretty cool!
Reading an amazing 1000 page + book is very satisfying. I often feel sad when such a book ends. Still, Under the Dome is a fantastic read. It’s a favorite of mine. It’s also the book that made me purchase my first e-reader because I didn’t want to hold a 1000 page hardcover book. 😂 I read this book when it was first released and your video makes me want to add it to my TBR as a re-read. Also, your sight on King’s use characters made me realize that it is one of his strengths in writing. Although some characters are minor and may not be about the plot, he uses these characters to build up the overall atmosphere of the story. It makes it feel real even despite the outrageous plot. Glad you enjoyed the read and thanks for sharing your thoughts.
“I have almost 900 pages left …” 😳 … “well that just sunk in.” Yep - I know that feeling! And yet it’s still one of the best feelings when it’s a good book. Stephen King is my #1 favourite author. I love watching other people dive into his worlds. Love your channel - can’t wait to see more!

I hope your channel continues to grow and more people come across you because you and your wife have become some of my favorite RUclipsrs! Blessings ❤️
Ian two classic tv shows that have similar themed endings as Under the Dome are the Twilight Zone’s Stop Over in Quiet Town & Star Trek’s the Squire of Gothos!!
i read this book a few years ago and i barely remember anything other than that it was really good, but yayyy i get to watch you read something i’ve already read!! 😂❤
My husband and I recently started watching the show Under The Dome. I wanted to read it, but I have so many books I'm trying to get through right now I decided we can just watch it first. I normally like to read the books before watching the movies or shows. It seems good so far though. I'm glad you liked the book.
Hi💕 Your enthusiasm is just so relatable! I've read Under the dome during the first quarantine and I was so comforted and sucked into it, as you said🥹 Just loved this video, thank you!🫂
You’ve quickly become my favorite booktuber❤️ also love stephen king , im currently (or always) doing a little King-athon and reading a bunch of his books back to back :)
@@iangubeli I’ve been reading the Mercedes trilogy, his memoir/non fiction “on writing” and some novellas like “1922” & “Shawshank”. But I’m just getting started, my goal is to read IT this spring/summer 🤍

I LOVED Under the Dome when I read it too. Read it twice 😂 Great vlog! Love your and your wifes channels. Y'all remind me a lot of my husband and I when we were younger (we've been married almost 22yrs now) ❤️

Awesome job done with this video 💯‼️ do you break the spine of paperbacks ? Also do you annotate books or just your bible ? Also this Stephen King book was turned into a 3 season series so I will be checking out the series as well as the stand and IT 😅😊 It’s cool and okay if you didn’t finish in 24hrs 😅this was an amazing journey and since you made it to less than 100 pages at the 24hr mark that imho says that you did it 😅so congratulations 🎉😅😊
Thank you!!! So I don’t break the spines of my paperbacks. I take tedious care not to in fact! I really only annotate my Bible and non-fiction books I read. My beloved fiction stays clean🙈
@@iangubeli nice. 😊😅 I had to stop annotating because as pretty as I love the highlighter colours they really weren’t doing much else and I also am trying to stop using a pencil as book mark because that breaks the spine even faster 😅😊I am definitely trying to take better care of my books 😅😊
The Under the Dome show is what made me want to read my first Stephen King book even though they ruined the show especially by the end of it bc it was getting cancelled LOL
Under the dome is the second Stephen king book that i read i decided to give this book a try because of the tv show adaptation that was about to air i absolutely enjoyed the book it's one of my favorites from king i didn't enjoy the ending though

i watched the series ages ago and never knew it was a stephen king book😅
Hey, what app do yall recomend for audiobooks?
I use to his books but more towards James Patterson books. Have u read any of his books?
I haven’t! Where is a good place to start with Patterson??
@@iangubeli James Patterson it's called Holmes, maple and poe
@@nohealanïkaiaskyerosewoodconte adding this to the TBR!!
Ngl I thought you were gonna read War and Peace 😂 but this one seems intimidating as well 😂
The book is intimidating but I got hooked into the story
The Under the Dome show is what made me want to read my first Stephen King book even though they ruined the show especially by the end of it bc it was getting cancelled LOL
Awesome video! Should definitely do a video on how you get your beard so perfect for us amateurs 😁😂😂
Thank you!! Hahah, I honestly just let it grow out, use water to get it malleable, and then brush it out🙈
Under the dome was great. The ending was a bit too much for me haha, but great read nonetheless
That book ended in true Stephen King fashion, bad, but a fabulous book❤❤❤❤❤
That is Impressive that you almost read all that in 24 hours .
So close🙈
Under the dome is the second Stephen king book that i read i decided to give this book a try because of the tv show adaptation that was about to air i absolutely enjoyed the book it's one of my favorites from king i didn't enjoy the ending though
The ending was a little abrupt for sure🙈
Ian, have you gotten into any Vonnegut?
If you want something that sucks you in and the pages seem to fly by you should read the Dresden files series! Please do yourself a favor and check them out!

The games I play are mainly on the Switch!!
I read The title and I already knew it would be a Stephen King Novel😂.
You know me too well!!
Which Stephen King book would you recommend for someone who's never read his work before ?
Pet Semetary, Duma Key, or Billy Summers!! You can’t go wrong with any of them! Oh, and The Shining and Misery are also good choices!
@@iangubeli thank you so much !
if you haven’t already i really think you’d like “Cell” by Stephen King!
I mean the one thing you said he says because he doesn't curse was/is a racial slur, the one with the word cotton so....yeah.
Next read Stephen King’s IT in 24 hours!
I actually do have an IT vlog! I read 200 pages a day until I finished that book. I would love to read it again this summer though🤔
@@iangubeli I will look for your IT vlog
PS: "It's been 200 pages and barely 2 days have passed in the story" is the most Stephen King thing I've ever heard lol.
Have you read pet sematary?????? PLEASE READ PET SEMATARY
how many pages do you read in an hour🥹!?
