As a "retired" professional cleaner/maid/housekeeper/domestic goddess I have found Wright’s Silver Cream to be the best silver cleaner-polish on the market, though it can be a bit pricey, it will last a long time, so well worth the money. It's one of those a little dab will do you products. The candelabras came out beautiful! And that duck, ohmygoodness that bath took him from drab to fab! I would love to have him but shipping would break this ole gal's bank. Thank you for sharing your brush cleaning tips. I use a product call just that, Brush Cleaner from Home Depot, and I think it's made by the same company that makes Krud Kutter. Have a beautiful rest of your week. xx

Wright's Silver Cream (I buy the paste version in the round jar with the nifty Magic Eraser style pad) and it is absolutely amazing, and I have used it for decades! I use my sterling wedding flatware every single day, and yes, I put it all in the dishwasher on the Fine China setting. I know I'll get blasted for that, but I have been doing it 25+ years, and the silverware still looks great. The Wright's is my go-to when the silverware needs a little tarnish removal and touch-up. You cannot replicate that soft silver patina that the silverware takes on from everyday use.

Just some elbow grease and help from a product or two. Thanks for showing us your brush cleaning routine. I need to get one of those hearts. That duck looks simply beautiful. He is restored to his former glory. And while I like that greenish rusty patina, this was quite a build-up. He is truly magnificent now. The candelabras are just gorgeous. Thank you for all your tips. My mom always used a product called Cameo cleanser on the copper bottoms of her Revere Ware. It was like magic. But I don't see it in stores anymore. Anyway, thank you for a very informative video. You rock.❤️

    Hello Yvonne,
It's good to see some of the little things that people can do to save on crafting supplies. Because, if you start a new type of craft, you need to buy so much new "stuff" to get into it. (Hope that makes sense.) So, to share that although you don't buy a high end items, if you take care of them right you can have them for a while.
I've also seen my niece with a makeup cleaning pad for her makeup brushes. Wouldn't that work for the paint brushes as well?
Thanks again, love your channel! 🙏🤗

This is kind of a weird one, but to clean brass and to verify if something truly is real brass and not cheap mixed metal/ brass coated I have incredible success putting plain heinz ketchup on the brass, let sit for 5 minutes and simple wipe gently scrub off, rinsing well. Works incredible! Better than any other method I've tried 😆 I know it's silly but when not pure brass the color is always 'off' but still clean and real brass looks Brand new.

*Not weird Andrea; I use Heinz ketchup all of the time to clean my brass items, too❣️😉 If the tarnish on the brass is being a little stubborn, 😣 I follow up with a scrub made by cutting a lemon 🍋 in half (the way you would a grapefruit,, so all of the sections are cut and the juice easily squeezed) and sprinkle the lemon 🍋 half with a good layer of table salt.🧂 Then, rub the salted lemon half on the brass like you would use a scouring pad. 😉*

Try first not to get paint in the ferrule, I was taught to use the palm of my hand after you swirl the brush in soap to clean the bristles. Then rince. The conditioner is a great idea. Supply shops for art supplies sell brush cleaners. Dry laying down on paper towels. Not a good idea to leave in a jar of water for to long the ferrule can rust or the brissles will bend.

If you are cleaning brushes that were used in acrylic paint, do not throw the water down the sink. The debris will stick to the inside of the pipes. Acrylic is a plastic and can build up in the pipes. Yes, you would have to use a lot of paint to clog, but over time, it can build up. I had a painting teacher who spoke from experience and had to have plumbing replaced.
