As a "retired" professional cleaner/maid/housekeeper/domestic goddess I have found Wright’s Silver Cream to be the best silver cleaner-polish on the market, though it can be a bit pricey, it will last a long time, so well worth the money. It's one of those a little dab will do you products. The candelabras came out beautiful! And that duck, ohmygoodness that bath took him from drab to fab! I would love to have him but shipping would break this ole gal's bank. Thank you for sharing your brush cleaning tips. I use a product call just that, Brush Cleaner from Home Depot, and I think it's made by the same company that makes Krud Kutter. Have a beautiful rest of your week. xx
Wright's Silver Cream (I buy the paste version in the round jar with the nifty Magic Eraser style pad) and it is absolutely amazing, and I have used it for decades! I use my sterling wedding flatware every single day, and yes, I put it all in the dishwasher on the Fine China setting. I know I'll get blasted for that, but I have been doing it 25+ years, and the silverware still looks great. The Wright's is my go-to when the silverware needs a little tarnish removal and touch-up. You cannot replicate that soft silver patina that the silverware takes on from everyday use.
Wright’s Silver Cream for cleaning silver…there is nothing easier or better. It’s magical!
That brush cleaner looks like a perler bead mold. My kids have a ton of them never thought to use as a brush cleaner. Thank you 😊
Definitely a perler bead mold!
Sweet lady what ever the doctor tells u to do. Plz do it. We had a sweet friend pass from skin cancer. You do as the doctor says. Your family needs you to be with them for many more years. ❤. That’s scary. You are amazing and I love your videos and you teach so much. Love ❤️ you and want you around for many more years.
The duck 💕what a transformation! Love it!
The duck and the pair of candelabra cleaned up beautifully !! 😊. Thank you for all the cleaning tips. 😊
That duck looks a lot better now that he has been scrubbed!
You did a good job on the silver candlabras
You always have great advise that I utilize. It's also helpful that i don't unessessarily buy products that don't work or that may be more expensive. I appreciate you.
I actually like to polish silver! It’s very satisfying! That duck is looking just ducky!
Baking soda salt and vinegar should ALWAYS be on hand for everything all the time....😆
Another great brush cleaner is Murphy’s Oil Soap. Works great also
Isn't it just sooo satisfying to bring pieces back to their former glory!! I've always loved keeping anything that's shiny... SHINY! And yes with be able to see your reflection in them! Thanks for sharing your tips with us .. I am very appreciative, as is I'm sure everyone! Tater has turned into a handsome cat! ❤❤
I clean my brushes with the same tool. Mine is a square from my children's fusing beads. Yes it is a game changer.
I couldn’t wait to try out the aluminum foil, baking soda and salt method.. and sure enough it worked like a charm ❣️ Thanks Yvonne❣️
I can't believe you vlean your tools with your bare hands, yet your hands always look so nice! My hands would be raw!
You scored really good on those pieces. They look fantastic. You are a real go get er. God Bless. Hugs x2. Rebekah
Wow. Amazon needs to sponsor you, I have bought so much from Amazon after watching your videos. That scrubber heart will sell out now ,I'm getting one. As always I will wait on your next video, I could watch them 24/7 ❤
Oh.. now that would be nice. Thank you ❤
They cleaned up so well. Murphy Oil Soap works great for cleaning paint brushes.
Just some elbow grease and help from a product or two. Thanks for showing us your brush cleaning routine. I need to get one of those hearts. That duck looks simply beautiful. He is restored to his former glory. And while I like that greenish rusty patina, this was quite a build-up. He is truly magnificent now. The candelabras are just gorgeous. Thank you for all your tips. My mom always used a product called Cameo cleanser on the copper bottoms of her Revere Ware. It was like magic. But I don't see it in stores anymore. Anyway, thank you for a very informative video. You rock.❤️
❤ I have the heart one as well…….mine’s about 20 years old, part of my kit as I used to do a lot of folk art painting back in the day…..some call it tole painting depending where you’re from.
Love how your items cleaned up…especially that duck! He’s gorgeous!❤
I never thought to use bar keepers friend on brass , TFS that tip 😊❤
Just ordered the heart! Thanks great idea
Thanks for the silver plated cleaner ckeaner
I use Wrights silver polish. Silver will always tarnish when exposed to air. After I polish some pieces I put them in a Ziploc bag for storage.
Thank you Very helpful!!
Loved watching these transform into such pretty pieces.😅
Yep, I need that little brush cleaner. Thanks for the handy tips.
The candelabra is stunning and that duck! Really big difference. Happy day.
Hey Tater!! Glad to see you today!! A beautiful duck! Bar Keeper's Friend cleans a lot of items! Ohhh the candleabras are awesome looking!!! I did not know about the aluminun foil and salt for silver plate. Thanks for the info and sharing on how to do it.
Yvonne, the brass duck is beauiful now. Love how you used the bar keepers friend. I love it. The candelabra is so new looking. Thanks for all the tips. ❤😊
Yeah, my wish came true - how you clean your tools. I was surprised that you soaked your brushes completely overnight. I thought that would loosen the bristles? Great job on the brass duck and candelabra 👍
I use the same scrubber. I got it a long time ago when I was folk art painting. Great tool. I also use dawn but I also use Murphy soap to finish because I had it.
Beautiful
There is a product called Brasso that my husband used on his brass when he was in the Army to clean and polish his brass. It worked great.
Thankyou for sharing . ❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I got a make-up brush cleaning pad, like the heart but shaped like a pineapple. It has suction cups on the back so it attaches to the sink nicely. Got it at Dollar Tree.
Kis the heart a pumice stone?
Great job! Thank you!❤
Thank you for all the cleaning tips. The duck and the candelabra are beautiful now! 🤗
Love the duck! Personally I love the patina of tarnished silver but good to know what cleans them, tfs!
After my mom cleaned her silver, she always wrapped it in plastic wrap to keep the tarnish away. I have no idea why, but we didn’t need to polish it too often.
I bought face scabies from the dollar store that are rubber with nibbles to clean my brushes. They have suction cups on the underside to suction to the sink or hold between your fingers.
I have had the heart scrubber for probably 30 years. I love it. I clean my brushes after each paint session and I don’t leave them sitting in water.
I got my heart at Hobby Lobby
Thank you for the great tips! 👍
I learned so much. Thank you!
Hello Yvonne,
It's good to see some of the little things that people can do to save on crafting supplies. Because, if you start a new type of craft, you need to buy so much new "stuff" to get into it. (Hope that makes sense.) So, to share that although you don't buy a high end items, if you take care of them right you can have them for a while.
I've also seen my niece with a makeup cleaning pad for her makeup brushes. Wouldn't that work for the paint brushes as well?
Thanks again, love your channel! 🙏🤗
What kind of conditioner? Hair conditioner? Hum makes perfect sense. I know what I am doing today! Lol thanks for the tip my queen 👑
Thanks for the cleaning tips 😊
Love those candlesticks!!
I think that’s a makeup brush cleaner? Never thought of conditioner 🫣 clean is beautiful ❤
Such good hacks! Love those pieces. 😊
Thank you I also try to save things from the land fill!
Great video!
I'm amazed at the end reults, especially the Duck! I don't know about anyone else but watching you cleaning the paint brushes was relaxing! 😆
I use aluminium foil in warm water in a bowl and baking soda it’s natural and really works ❤
Thank you for sharing. I look forward to see your video every day. ❤ Thank you.
I have been wanting to ask about this for years. Thanks for the video. If one doesn't come from a background of painting, it is a mystery.
The heart must be pumice or something? I gotta get one of those. Thanks for showing us how to clean. A necessary chore. You did this so well and quickly. Yes. Helpful for sure. The duck looks happier. Cool JOVI tee you have too.
It looked like it came from one of those kids melted bead crafts to me. 🤷🏼♀️
Great job! Thanks for sharing the process. I learned watching your process.
I do the same brush cleaning except I use a scrub daddy and just soap it up and rub paint brush over it and into it , just like you do with the heart
This is kind of a weird one, but to clean brass and to verify if something truly is real brass and not cheap mixed metal/ brass coated I have incredible success putting plain heinz ketchup on the brass, let sit for 5 minutes and simple wipe gently scrub off, rinsing well. Works incredible! Better than any other method I've tried 😆 I know it's silly but when not pure brass the color is always 'off' but still clean and real brass looks Brand new.
*Not weird Andrea; I use Heinz ketchup all of the time to clean my brass items, too❣️😉 If the tarnish on the brass is being a little stubborn, 😣 I follow up with a scrub made by cutting a lemon 🍋 in half (the way you would a grapefruit,, so all of the sections are cut and the juice easily squeezed) and sprinkle the lemon 🍋 half with a good layer of table salt.🧂 Then, rub the salted lemon half on the brass like you would use a scouring pad. 😉*
No I would have done the same I would have gone to you tube and said how too 😂 ❤. Thanks for sharing
Love watching. I learn so much from your videos. Thanks for sharing
If you use washing soda, tinfoil and your salt it cleans silver. Clean brass with lemon and salt. Cut the lemon in half, put your salt on the lemon and scrub away.
Thank you so so much!!!!
You saved many of us a lot of time trying to get brass etc clean!! Your so amazing ❤❤❤
I do have a little brush cleaner (not a heart but a flower shape) I just didn’t know how to use it, thanks again!!!
Try first not to get paint in the ferrule, I was taught to use the palm of my hand after you swirl the brush in soap to clean the bristles. Then rince. The conditioner is a great idea. Supply shops for art supplies sell brush cleaners. Dry laying down on paper towels. Not a good idea to leave in a jar of water for to long the ferrule can rust or the brissles will bend.
Ketchup on brass! The acid in it cleans it up. Believe it or not. I absolutely hate cleaning with Fabuloso it eats finish off things on the other hand it will rusty crusty in no time. Learned the hard way.
The dollar tree has ɓrush cleaner scibs like this heart one your using it the makeup section for makeup brushes works great .they even suction to the sink .
This was a very helpful video! I bookmarked it 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you Sister, Now I feel like buying good brushes would be worthwile armed with this knowledge. Wright's silver cream is as good as sone of the connents say and there is a wright's copper\brass cleaner that won't change the color of the brass. Super simple to use and fast. Prayers for your health and happiness. You are the bomb!
Loved these hacks, and I could not believe how good all the pieces looked - just an amazing difference! The duck looks like new, and is really gorgeous now. What a difference cleaning him up made. I'm sure he'll be a very rapid sale because not only is he beautiful but he's only a real statement piece. And the way you clean your brushes - WOW. I'm going to look into getting one of those hearts, so thank you.
You have the most amazing videos. You're my favorite ❤
Thank you for all the tips
I love how beautiful the duck and the candelabra are once they got clean
Thank you for sharing this video
❤😊
Thanks for the video. I just bought some of the hearts.
*L❤VED the video, Yvonne❣️*
Great hack, Yvonne!! Will try it!💖
Thank you for showing us how to clean these items!!❤
Lol, ketchup can clean brass. I’ve been to afraid to putting our silver into that mixture. I use silver cleaner paste by Wright’s. You can wrap clean silver in plastic wrap or in a velvet type lined box. That duck turned out beautiful. I forgot to mention is rinse that cleaner of the silver.😊❤
You can also use non gel, non abrasive toothpaste to clean silver
Agreed to use Wrights and always wash and rinse and dry thoroughly after. I store my silver in cloth bags and then in plastic tubs off season. When cleaning, No paper towels, soft cloth only (hubby’s old t shirts perhaps?)
@@doubles1738 yes. The cleaner comes with a very soft sponge.
@@daisywhite4678 I’ve never tried that.
I'm amazed how all came clean . Thanks for sharing. I will try and get barkeepers liquid as iv got the powder but had no luck. See you next time. Love to you both xx
As far as I’m concerned you did everything right. Love Bar Keepers Friend us it on many things n for the Candle Opera that’s exactly what I use for cleaning silver so you get a A plus.
♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟🐈⬛🐈⬛
Thank you for all this info. It is of great help. God bless.
Thank you for sharing these ideas!
Love your channel I’m from southern Ontario!
Dixie Belle makes a paint brush cleaner soap sponge. SO NICE!!!
If you are cleaning brushes that were used in acrylic paint, do not throw the water down the sink. The debris will stick to the inside of the pipes. Acrylic is a plastic and can build up in the pipes. Yes, you would have to use a lot of paint to clog, but over time, it can build up. I had a painting teacher who spoke from experience and had to have plumbing replaced.
I use MAAS from walmart. It works so good and it seems after my tea service doesnt tarnish as quickly.
Hi there tarnex is a really good silver cleaner for both silver and silver plated..use it all the time works really fast..Deborah

Great tips!! Thank you
That heart is a mold for those iron beads.
Just love Tator 😂
Wow
Great job! ❤
Vinager is an acid and I would not really use it myself on silver plating.
Thank you for sharing your cleaning hacks. I didn’t know Barkeepers friend would clean brass and had not heard of adding salt for silver cleaning bath.
Where did you get your rack for drying brushes?
Thanks again for the tips!
