Thanks Sheila. That is really nice of you to say. You are right - it never goes out of style! In fact, I just did a retreat in August and demonstrated this card and another using the same cut materials.
This is by far the best Pop Up & Twist on the internet ! Easy to understand, no fuss, no nonsense. Thank you Cathy, I've made 50 in no time at all. Thumbs up !
Just found your channel and love what I've seen. I've seen this card on 4 other channels and was confused. You have the most clearest and easiest way of doing this. Thank you. Usually I try a project and end up getting confused, throw it away and end of trying. Following you step by step it worked perfectly the first time.
Thank you for the kind words! I cannot believe how well this video has been received. I am all about the easy and all the marking and measuring just wasn’t doing it for me. Figured out an easier way and shared it with everyone to enjoy.
Cathy, I want to thank you so very much for the clear, simple, directions. I just completed a card for my granddaughter whose 4-letter name made this a natural choice for her birthday card. I know she will love it!
Thank you Cathy! You are an awesome instructor. I have found the perfect card for my stamping bff for her birthday in October. I especially love all the tips that you sprinkle within the project to avoid glitches. I watched a different pop up video a few years ago to make a special card for my son's birthday. He loved it so much that he displayed it on his FB page. I didn't tell him what a nightmare it was because the instructor left out key parts! Thanks again Cathy. Keep making your videos please.
I have been watching many pop and twist videos and I must say, this one was AWESOME. Thanks for showing us an easier way to put the entire card together from the front cover to the inserts, to the ribbon EXCELLENT job. Hope to watch more of your videos,. I will be subscribing to your videos as soon as I finish this comment. Once again ThankYou
Janetb Brown thanks for checking out my video. I am so happy that you found it informative. These are such fun cards but I found were not easy until I figured out my method to making them.
Not sure how often you check your messages, but just wanted to let you know that your mechanism was bang-on! Others I tried from other tutorials kept catching. Thank you very much for taking the time to do this tutorial.
I have made these cards following other tutorials and I have to give you awesome credit. Your way is far more easier than any. Thank you for sharing your talents and tips.

Cathy, what a fabulous video. Love your voice and how clearly you explain every step. Watched many other videos and instructions but yours is the very best. Definitely going to try this now.
Marilyne Hauser Thank you! I think my voice sounds strange because it isn’t the way I hear myself. Let me know how you do on making one of these cards.
Hi Cathy,I have just let you walk me through this tutorial, and I am over the moon with my card,it works !!! and is so cute.Thank you so much for an awesome tutorial.
I will be making more of them that is for sure.I really enjoyed your tutorial,so thanks again for the inspiration,I have been wanting to make one of these cards for a while but they seemed far too fiddly,my only slight confusion was the scoring to get the cross in the middle but I managed it with an ordinary scoreboard and ruler.
@@nancyfrierson2453 I’m really shocked how little attention it received. I think if more people would have done videos using them, they would have been really popular. They are great for those folds that aren’t “standard.”
Thank you so much for your instruction, I had made one last night for our daughter in England. I am happy with my card, but now watching your video I think I will improve on the card and this is a much simpler method than the one I watched. Thank you again.
Hi Cathy I love this card and will use the idea for lots of cards. Also the extra tip re getting the lopsided piece unstuck using the heat tool. Many thanks - it's AWESOME
Loved your demonstration! Loved your easy way of applying ribbon and also adhesive to word cut-outs!! Thank you. Thank you! Can’t wait to try this fun twist fold again!
Wow! Thank you for posting this video. You give great clear instructions... I especially like the tip of using the scoreboard ... makes it so much easier! I am in the process of doing 20 of these under your "guidance." Once again thank you!!!

Thanks! Happy you were able to figure it out. I just edited the description to give the steps for people who don't have a diagonal board. Thanks for the reminder that it wasn't there.
Prior to watching your video, I would never have attempted to make a card like this... you make it look completely do-able. Next time I get my supplies out, I am going to give this a whirl. Thanks for such a great video with lots of tips.
Meg M. , thanks for checking out my video and the sweet comments. I agree that when I watched a video, it was crazy complicated. Once I got one in my hands, I looked at it closely and figured it could be done more simply. Let me know how you do with yours.
Thanks Lois. If you haven't heard yet, the multipurpose adhesive sheets will be back in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog but until then the tear and tape sure works great.

Hi Cathy. I have made the Twist and Pop cards several times before from other videos without much success!. The mechanism always catches....but your tutorial is just great. Much easier to follow than most and it worked! I may have placed the fold up cards just a little bit too near the edge and when I stand it up it protrudes a little from the bottom but next time I will know. Thank you very much 😃
A bit late in commenting...Your video was the inspiration for a Christmas card I made in 2017. I used my own pictures for the 4 pop outs. It was a great hit. Thanks so much. (I loaded the dimensions into my Cricut Design Space as I send out 100 cards.)

This is a great alternative to a more complicated one I've seen. (Haven't made one yet, but have two birthdays coming up and want to make these.) I am also coveting your diagonal scoring plate. 🤩 Looks like it's long since out of production, even on eBay. Ah, well. Guess I'll live, LOL! 😜

insalt54, thanks for the kind words. I, too, loved the card but knew I wouldn't make it more than once with all of the strange cuts and angles. I am glad people are finding this as an easier way of making the card.
Thank you so much! I have had several people indicate they wish they found this video first. Now you don't have to continue to look for good ways to create it!
Good question Angela! I would suggest you create the pop up mechanism in the dimensions I have and then cut it down as you need. I used scrap printer paper to figure this one out. That way I can make a bunch of them. If you need larger, I would just make sure you increase in equal increments. If you increase the size by 1", I am guessing that the "X" would be increased by 1/2" on either end. I hope that helps! If not, contact me directly and we can see if we can figure it out for your desired size.
Hello Cathy, I love your video and have tried to make this card with no success. I have a score-pal and that does not come with an insert for diagonal score. I've been trying for days and I just can't get it. Would you know how I can do this for some reason no matter what I do the folding mechanism is not even, I get 1 side longer than the other. PLEASE help me. I really can not afford to go out and buy another scoring tool. What am I doing wrong?
Nancy Ruiz, take the 2" strip and Measure 3" from each end on both long sides and mark them with a pencil. Place it in your ScorPal with the pencil mark on the top left and the bottom right in the indentation of your ScorPal. Score along that line. Repeat this with the top right and bottom left. This will create an "X" in the center which is what you want. It should come out correctly from there. Comment if you are still having trouble and I will try to assist more.
I finally figured a way to get the correct measurement but I will try your way for any future ones. Thank you so much for getting back to me very quickly.
Put a small pencil mark at 3” in from the left side at both the top and bottom. Then do the same with the right side. Line up the marks in your scoring tool/cutter and score on the diagonal from the top left mark to the bottom right mark. Repeat with the left bottom and right top marks. You will have the diagonal you need for the mechanism.
Reema Doshi, I haven't made this card as a 4"x4" card so I am not sure of the dimensions you will need. I would suggest you make it using my dimensions and see if you can reduce it to the size you need.
chop master, measure in 3" from each end on both sides. Mark with a pencil and place in your straight score board with the top left mark and bottom right mark and score between those. Then repeat with bottom left mark and top right mark. This should create a scored X in the center and you can continue from there. Let me know if you are still having trouble and I will try to help.

Beautiful!!! What is the basic concept of getting the measurements for the mechanism and panel when making this card in different sizes?
Good question Angela! I would suggest you create the pop up mechanism in the dimensions I have and then cut it down as you need. I used scrap printer paper to figure this one out. That way I can make a bunch of them. If you need larger, I would just make sure you increase in equal increments.

If you dont have that scoring plate how due due the x I love your video
Put a small pencil mark at 3” in from the left side at both the top and bottom. Then do the same with the right side. Line up the marks in your scoring tool/cutter and score on the diagonal from the top left mark to the bottom right mark. Repeat with the left bottom and right top marks. You will have the diagonal you need for the mechanism.

Reema Doshi, I haven't made this card as a 4"x4" card so I am not sure of the dimensions you will need. I would suggest you make it using my dimensions and see if you can reduce it to the size you need.
May I ask if youbeso kind as to consider to give the measures in metric as well? It would be greatly appreciated.
So much easier! Thsnk you!!!!!!!
Bobbi Kuhn, you are welcome! Thanks for taking the time to watch my video.

Dawn, I see you figured it out. i went ahead and added the instructions in the description of the video if you need to reference it in the future.
LOVE!!! thanks
Thank you!

Thank you for the compliment!
ehat happens to the people that done have that score board how would we score diganol?
chop master, measure in 3" from each end on both sides. Mark with a pencil and place in your straight score board with the top left mark and bottom right mark and score between those. Then repeat with bottom left mark and top right mark. This should create a scored X in the center and you can continue from there. Let me know if you are still having trouble and I will try to help.
