Ahhh, I love making this video and chatting about planners every year!!! Grab a cup and come hang out for a bit. Tell me in the comments what you're using this year! One planner? A stack? Keeping it the same or changing things up? I can't wait to chat!
So many planners! If you haven't already thought of it, maybe consider creating 4 of your "frankenplanners", 1 for each quarter. You could still pull out the planners for future quarters if you need to add things to them, but you won't be toting such a chunky book around all the time. Happy planning!
Yes! Sorry I thought I said it in there, but the Frankenplanner will be set up like my HB90 - quarterly with just 3 months at a time! It's still going to be super chunky, though, because of the daily and weekly pages!
Listen I look forward to this video every year. I am 30 seconds in and adore the way you introduced them all this year. I can't wait to just spend the next hour watching this! I'll be working on my own planners as I do :)
🌸💛 I had just decided to simplify my planning routine, but this video gave me some great ideas. and i will have to change my plans a bit. well done, as always, Sarra
As a multi planner girlie, this is my 5th year watching your planner lineup video. Sarra, I just started it and already, the intro was thee best intro yet (& my personal fav)!! Going to grab popcorn and then to watch the rest. 😊💖 Edited to add - I’m using a stack of planners! I have about 20 for 2025. 😊🌷❤
Love this format. It's super helpful to hear you think aloud on how you will use your planners. I'm still ruminating on my new ones and you give me great things to think about.
I love this!!! Thank you for sharing! Even *if* it fails, I’m so happy you shared what you’re thinking. I’m cheering for you! I’m using a narrow TN with a monthly, weekly vertical, and a journaling insert. That’s the one staying all year as I hop around using the notebook stash! HB notebook challenge update: I used up a narrow insert, pocket Moleskine, and an EC notebook the past two months! Edit: for my five year, I add pictures to the right side of the page! It chunks it up, but the planner can take it. And no heart or flower because someone else can use the giveaway more than me!
So excited to see you with a Laurel Denise in hand! I have so many of their planners! I have a regular horizontal which admittedly is slightly underutilized. A project planner that I use for my HB90 Kanban board, and my Portrait Planner will be for school. Because I'm going back to school in January, fingers crossed. Then I have a mini horizontal that I'll be using for home stuff, in addition to my HB90. Plus I have a Think Ink bound planner from Walmart that I just use as my daily recap. Honestly I want the Laurel Denise/HB90 collab. It's entirely your fault my horizontal is almost superfluous. I bought my first HB90 in Oct last year and my Laurel Denise didn't start till January. But honestly I love them all.
🌺♥ Super impressed that you're on your second five year journal. I was considering the Hobonichi five year but then I thought about my track record and decided I'd start with something cheaper and then if I stuck to it I can get a fancy one.
💖 The Hobanichi 5 year planner is such a cool idea, I keep forgetting about it, but every time I see yours it reminds me that I want one. Some day maybe I will remember to get one :)
🌺❤ yes please Sarra! Great video, I'm changing up my whole planner line up too for 2025. I've just started getting into Erin Condren for this coming year.
I love watching you put together all you're planners. I'm excited to see how they turn out for you! ❤🌻 I bought some of the 50th hello kitty products for my sister, because she loves HK. So I'm glad I could see the cover here. love you!
Keeping things the same this year: EC hourly, Aura Estelle B6 daily and my 3rd year in my 5 year Hobonichi. I also have about 8 notebooks going, each with a purpose such as reading, gardening, camping, travel, etc.
Such a big stack, but I like that you're resetting to create less planning time but still track all the things. FYI, not that you need it, but there is a Twines & Paper bound planner that has both horizontal AND vertical weeklies in case you want to try something else for the Sarra Cannon/HB90 system. I have the A6 5 year, and what I do is after I meditate, exercise and pull a tarot card or two (noting it down in my Hobo Cousin), I write up a few sentences in the morning for how I'm feeling. And then I do a few lines in the evening for what I got done or what I did that day. This means that most days, I write over onto the next page. I also capture ephemera - sticker shop cards or other goodies in those pages. My line up is pretty small. I've got another 2025 Cousin for my morning tarot practice, my 5-year, a throw away notebook from the dollar store for morning pages, a journal that I use for deep thoughts, a PaperTessDesigns a6 for my media journal (will cover 3 years in it), and I picked up the Magic of I journal to capture intentions for the day and see how my mood shifts with astrology. I have other notebooks and a Stalogy or two for plotting, character work/journals, and commonplacing. Sheesh, now that I wrote it all out, it's a lot!
Love to hear form someone else that you have a tarot practice! And yeah, I realize I'm like "I'm using less!" and it's still a big stack lol. But it is less... overall :P Thanks for the suggestions!
♥♥❤ I'm working on my 2025 planner set up now, too! I LOVE that you got a coil binding machine because I also have been looking for one to better frankeplan my EC planners, LOL! Which machine did you get? I have a few punchers that don't have the right lineup of holes, including a cinch and a cheapie one I got on Amazon. Great and helpful video!
❤🌻 I'm also finishing my first five year journal. I really enjoy it! I'm starting in a Leuchtturm 5 year journal in 2025. I use undated ones without an empty page. Wishing you all happy holidays!
Hi Sara, I can wait to watch this. I saw the clip you posted about trying on planner. It was the best thing I did 4 or 5 years ago. Now, I either do a half year or full year planner with the common planner or Papertess Designs. Papertess designs is great for put everything in one planner.
For the 5-year hobonichi, I am in my second year of using it. I got it after seeing one of your videos over two years ago. My plan is to use the extra page to add more years and make it a 8 or 9 year planner. That way more of my thoughts are condensed in one place instead of a new planner. if you haven't yet filled out those pages at all, that could be doable. if you have already been filling some of those pages out, then it won't work
ohh I can't wait to see how the coil hole punch works! I love the flexibility of a happy planner but really can't work with discs, I would love love to be able to print and coil the HB90 planner
❤ I loved this video! I am personally still deciding my own planner lineup for 2025. I'm pretty married to happy planners due to being able to add/remove pages. I just love the EC teacher layout so much for projects and goals too. There's always too many choices lol
My favorite time of the planner year. I moved away from the Weeks, but saw the blue with cherries in the Mega and it works perfect for my budget and finances carry. I got a Aura Estelle Airy perfect fit for it in Poison Apple and the colors look so good together. I plan to use it as a wallet as well. I am really trying to get a handle on my spending and saving this year. The rest of my line up includes an EDC of a B6 Wonderland 222 all-in-one, so I can add my HB90 quarterlies in it as well: Another B6 Wonderland 222 All-in-one for physical and mental health tracking and appointments, and notes. I also bought a Midori Hibino with 2 pages per day as a mental health journal and of course my 5 year Hobonichi techo. I really paired down what I am using, but I still have half a year of a daily duo I bought in July that I might use as home repair, maintenance, and yardwork planner. We'll see. lol.
🌸❤ in my 5 year journal I put photos, stickers, extra notes about the day and random scraps (like my receipt from the gas station or name tag from an event)
I'm totally with you on wanting a smaller planner that takes up less desk space, as well as fewer planners overall 📚 I've fallen in love with the B6 format, so I'm going to be using that size a lot in 2025. However I tried this year to put everything in one big todo list and it hasn't entirely worked for me, as it's too easy to get bogged down in chores and neglect my personal projects (plus I have a gorgeous new suede cover from Naya Paperie that I don't want to have to put down on a potentially damp kitchen counter!). So I'm going to combine a B6 Common Planner with a dot-grid notebook, and use the latter for my household todo list.
I am trying an agenda 52 for my content planning so I'm excited to see how it goes then of course I do HB90 for my daily but have combined it with my project planner - lovee the shirt
I use a laurel Denise project planner for my work social media planning. I really only need monthlies for that. Then I use a medium passion planner weekly Monday start for my EDC. And I use a 13 Moon Journal from Moon Phase Studios for daily journaling. I’m reusing an old Powersheets for goal planning and tracking. I’m excited for the new year!
💖 💮 honestly if it was me id just use the bonus page as a DIY 5 more years to make it a 10 year journal. i think a big value of keeping up with a journal like that is being able to look back and its sad that after only 5 years you have to put it on the shelf and move into a new book. then you basically never look back unless you pull out your old book each time which seems cumbersome
LOVE these long planner videos. I am trying out a B5 and A5 - the B5 from Sterling Ink is enough room where I can include everything including my tarot pulls. I am trying to use less too to focus more on what I need to.
Have you ever tried a faux leather snap in cover for your Happy Planner? It gives the hard cover feel, but you can still flip it fully in half to use. 🌸
If scaling back doesn’t work out, then it doesn’t work out. eThe fact you are thinking through as much as you can to find ways to streamline your life and make room for the things that will move you toward your goals is a great example to set. 😊. Edit: can you link the hole punch? I’ve looked all over for one that works with an EC coil.
🌹💙I love that you were so open about how sometimes you have to change things when life switches direction. I wish people would mind their business and if they don't like the changes you make in your life, hush and go watch something else. Adaptability is one of the hardest things to master in life.
This year, I'm planning to use more planners LOL I usually use one planner or bj but this year I'm using hobonichi + digital planners (study planner, art planner, 6m4l) I have new things to track and plan and clear goals.
@HeartBreathings I can tell you what NOT to do in the Hobonichi 5YR with the right page… don’t add daily photos to it, if you want to keep the integrity of the spine together. I don’t know what I was thinking, but I added photos to my A6 5YR Hobonichi a few years ago. I ended up with a thick brick of a journal when I was done. I think, if you add photos sporadically, you’ll be okay. (I made videos of my thick 5YR if you search for it.)
Could you just order a sketchbook from EC & print your sheets on that after uncoiling it rather than cutting & punching? Might not play nice with your printer if it is punched but might save time if it works.
🌻💖 I would love to win either of these because I am always wanting to try new types of planners but it's very much not in the budget right now! 😅 I'm also simplifying next year--instead of several planners I'm doing one main one for the year, then one per quarter for my HB90, and a spiritual one. Not sure how it's going to work out yet but with splitting my life between two towns it's too much to travel with 7 or 8 planners and accessories every time.
Ahhh, I love making this video and chatting about planners every year!!! Grab a cup and come hang out for a bit. Tell me in the comments what you're using this year! One planner? A stack? Keeping it the same or changing things up? I can't wait to chat!

Same!!!! Let's keep dreaming, you never know!!

Yes! Sorry I thought I said it in there, but the Frankenplanner will be set up like my HB90 - quarterly with just 3 months at a time! It's still going to be super chunky, though, because of the daily and weekly pages!
it’s the most wonderful time of the yeeeeeear
The screech that left me when I saw this video came into my inbox. I may have scared my toddler.
😂🙌
I have wanted a 5-year journal for awhile now. The Laurel Denise planner looks great! I love the Dutch door layout🌷💜
Listen I look forward to this video every year. I am 30 seconds in and adore the way you introduced them all this year. I can't wait to just spend the next hour watching this! I'll be working on my own planners as I do :)

All things business: xTiles (totally digital)
Personal: Future ADHD digital planner
Emotional: The Five Minute Journal

🌸♥ I'm always inspired by your planner videos even if my stuff is much less complicated!

Have you seen the Notiq wallets?? They fit Hobonichi Weeks! I use that for meal planning and family schedule for the week. ❤
Oh my word, I haven't!!! Now I have to go look ,haha
🌸I have a serious notebook obsession too! 🌸
Have you ever tried a faux leather snap in cover for your Happy Planner? It gives the hard cover feel, but you can still flip it fully in half to use. 🌸
I loved The Disappearance of Vanessa Shaw! It was so good. 🥰🥰🥰
You have to do what works for you in the season of life you are in!
🌺 I'm at the same point setting up my planners for next year. But kind of waiting for Path Forward, HB90 and Writing workshops...lol
Always start using a planner but never keep up with it! Hope to change that so I'm watching this video.
I love this! I am a planner nerd
I love reviewing my previous years accomplishments and what blocked me from finishing my projects.
❤ and 🌺 they are both gorgeous

You're right! It's low pressure but I'm really hoping it's going to be helpful!
I have seen you try Hobonichi Weeks 3x Sarra. :) But if we don't try, we don't learn. Even if have to change weekly or quarterly go for it Sarra!!
One planner to rule them all!
You can't have too many planners! 💚🌻
🌺🌺🌺 Aloha from HI 💜💜💜 Thank you for your generosity!

🌹💙I love that you were so open about how sometimes you have to change things when life switches direction. I wish people would mind their business and if they don't like the changes you make in your life, hush and go watch something else. Adaptability is one of the hardest things to master in life.
Oh my, I think I'm gonna frankenplanner this 2025! I haven't seen one that fit me
This year, I'm planning to use more planners LOL I usually use one planner or bj but this year I'm using hobonichi + digital planners (study planner, art planner, 6m4l) I have new things to track and plan and clear goals.
Oh no! Okay, thank you for letting me know!
Could you just order a sketchbook from EC & print your sheets on that after uncoiling it rather than cutting & punching? Might not play nice with your printer if it is punched but might save time if it works.
❤❤🌸🌸
❤🌻
🌻💖 I would love to win either of these because I am always wanting to try new types of planners but it's very much not in the budget right now! 😅
I'm also simplifying next year--instead of several planners I'm doing one main one for the year, then one per quarter for my HB90, and a spiritual one. Not sure how it's going to work out yet but with splitting my life between two towns it's too much to travel with 7 or 8 planners and accessories every time.
