Even though the Kawhi/PG duo is elite(nearly 70% winning clip) i think with the re-investment made into Kawhi, it would be best to make a deal with Paul George to pay him the max and send him to his preferred destination. I think taking a risk on a younger player with upside potential is the way The Clippers should go, moving forward. If i were Lawrence Frank i also would not pair Kawhi with James Harden. I think the slower half court style actually hurts The Clippers against the league's best defensive teams, especially the ones with length at the wing position. Also i believe having James Harden likely means the team will not trend towards a top 10 defensive team. I would try to see if Kawhi Leonard could hold up playing at a quicker pace and playing more intense defense. Surround him with younger athletic players.... This way if Kawhi is not healthy come postseason time(again) at least The Clippers have some youth and optimism going forward... That's the way i would go if i were Lawrence Frank..... I think if he wants to run it back, that it's better to start Kawhi, PG, Harden, and Russ together and find a different center that can space and shoot....(similar to The Celtics five out system) This would allow them to use Mann, Bones, Coffey, Brown, Jones, and Powell off their bench..... They could probably keep Theis as one reserve big. They would need a replacement for Plumlee(maybe a trade for Steven Adams?) Maybe some youth at the wing positions...
I think it's a mistake running it back. These dudes are getting older. It's not even certain they'll make the playoffs with the West getting better. For me I think they should use the season to develop and raise the value of guys. A guy like Zubac could probably fetch you a 1st around the deadline. I'd actually kick the tires on seeing if Lakers desperate enough to trade 17th pick if it doesnt convey for Lue. Remember it's not our money so if Mr Ballmer wants to pay Kawhi Leonard not only for his market value as a top 25 nba player but also for what he can potentially do with a healthy postseason, i think it's fine. Certainly that comes with some pros and cons from a roster construction perspective. How many players make the all star team? I think it's like 13-15 players for each conference? So 26-30 players? Kawhi and PG both made it, so The Clippers have two of the best players in the game.... The one thing i will say is that the dynamic duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George "might" need to be broken up and more responsibility given to Kawhi Leonard for the success of the franchise... That would be one way to spread out the wealth and make them a bit deeper, from a roster construction perspective...

What they need to do this Off-season is. 1. Bring Harden back And 2. Hire Mike Dantoni as the Head Coach and move Ty Lue to the Assistant Coaching spot so Harden can come back to the same player that he was in 2019 and 2020 averaging over 30 PPG again.
I'm okay with running it back if we accept we AREN'T championship level. Go into next season in a new arena just looking to play at our highest level, in spite of injuries and availability. Even at our best, the rest of the league is younger and more athletic than we are. We are an aging out superteam. Go out and have fun and surprise few people.

I do agree that The Clippers as currently constructed, with a few minor tweaks, can possibly be a top 10 nba squad....one of the contenders!
So that does somewhat validate Lawrence Frank's philosophy of running it back.

KL doesn’ crack the top 10 right now. Rewarding deteriorating players mucho dinero for past years & you wind up with what the Clippers have now.
@@NoName-zm1ks ....yea Kawhi is definitely no longer top 10 but when you factor in both sides of the court, even with some declines in his defensive excellence, i still believe he is one of the nba's top 20-25 players, so he's very worthy of the deal he got.
Remember it's not our money so if Mr Ballmer wants to pay Kawhi Leonard not only for his market value as a top 25 nba player but also for what he can potentially do with a healthy postseason, i think it's fine.
Certainly that comes with some pros and cons from a roster construction perspective.

The one thing i will say is that the dynamic duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George "might" need to be broken up and more responsibility given to Kawhi Leonard for the success of the franchise...

1. Bring Harden back

2. Hire Mike Dantoni as the Head Coach and move Ty Lue to the Assistant Coaching spot so Harden can come back to the same player that he was in 2019 and 2020 averaging over 30 PPG again.

I'm okay with running it back if we accept we AREN'T championship level. Go into next season in a new arena just looking to play at our highest level, in spite of injuries and availability. Even at our best, the rest of the league is younger and more athletic than we are. We are an aging out superteam. Go out and have fun and surprise few people.
