On memorial day 2024 we were on our flight from Denver, Co to Tampa, Fl and suddenly we made a sharp turn and the captain announced that there is smoke at the back of the plane, so we need to make an Emergency Landing. Colorado Springs was the closest airport.
Very happy the captain took quick action and handled the problem very professional and calm. Everyone was calm.
The captain lowered the oxygen masks for us to use for safe breathing.
On the ground there was airport security/police, fire department, paramedics and ambulance ready for action.
Thank you captain for your quick and calm handling of the problem and for keeping us safe!
We were brought by bus to the airport hall. They provided us with snacks and water. Another aircraft flew in from Denver to take us to Tampa, Fl.
The second flight was smooth and we arrived safe in Tampa, Florida.
