Thank you for taking the time to transcribe the lyrics, however, I believe you have mistaken the word 'mend' with 'meant' .
Mend is repair or fix, and also rhymes with 'end' :
What did I learn?
The world has to *end*
What did I see?
Some things never *mend*
This I believe also fits with what appears to be the theme of loss, particularly of a loved one. It could be either the relationship has ended and there is no means of *mending* the relationship- or that the person has passed away possibly.
