- Physicist Jane Chandler is happily married to Matt and they have two kids. She has her own research lab and together with her assistant, Regg, they discover a way to send objects to a parallel world. Later, tragedy strikes: Matt is killed in a car crash. Grieving, Jane travels to the parallel world and finds another version of her husband, who she brings back to her world. Gradually he reveals himself to be a very different man. He carries a strange, deadly weapon and has a terrible temper. Fearful she has made a mistake, Jane takes a second trip to the parallel world to find out more about him. While Jane is in the parallel world, he breaks into the lab in the first world, kills Regg and destroys the machine. Now Jane is trapped in the parallel world and her kids are at the mercy of a murderer. The next day Regg #2 appears at the lab. He tells her that he has built a duplicate machine. Jane finds a way to teleport back to her world to confront Matt #2 and rescue her kids.

Your world is almost finished. Too many children having children before experiencing their own lives. Knowing nothing they have nothing to teach their own children and they resent giving up their own lives and freedoms to become parents so young. With no experience or knowledge to pass on to their growing children, more & more frequently they tip toe away from their children and their lives to start afresh with no money, no plans, no possessions, no trades or skills. With only the clothes they stand up in, they keep moving away as far as they can from everything they’ve ever known to start again with nothing. No talent, no abilities, no responsibilities & no knowledge about cooking, reading, writing or basic housework even. The young boys know only the most basic requirements for keeping a cart horse and lighting a fire. The young girls know only how to make babies so in either case, our young runaways find themselves seeking new partners to start new lives with. Best case scenario is if they find a wealthy partner to look after them. Worst case scenario is they’re bushwhacked & sold into slavery. Girls as sex toys for some of the most depraved men in the world, boys, likewise. This is where our kids are heading, equipped with no knowledge, no talent, no curiosity and no interest in anything but their own lives & selfish desires. They have no faith, never saw the point or the relevance these days. No money unless they can steal , no basic survival skills. And this is where humanity is heading. If they continue to blindly accept the lessons taught in school, and believe lies like evolution. Questioning nothing they’re taught, except the tiny excerpts from the bible. Is it any wonder humanity’s demise is rushing towards us. Give any teenager a bag of food containing bread, flour, butter, sugar, eggs, cheese, milk & a potato. They won’t have a clue how much they can make with those ingredients. They can no longer write with pen & paper. They don’t know how to pray fo4 help . All they can do is give their bodies to someone for the best deal they can get. End up pregnant or raising a baby again. This is where our uneducated, apathetic kids are heading. With no understanding of the world they live in & caring less. Maybe it’s time to force some old values, faith & truth on them. All any of them want is to display their personal anatomy & keep it available to anyone they fancy for as long as possible. Filling their systems with drugs & drink, with empty heads & no dreams or ambitions, what a fraction of a human being they have become. And worse of all. They know nothing. Have learned nothing, nor wish to. If it’s not self gratifyingly pleasing in some way, they’re not interested. And all because in the 60’s it was decided to stop teaching anything truthfully and replaced lessons with evolution, millions of years of make believe history & let everyone do what they want whenever they feel like it. Then sit back & watch as our kids destroy their lives with boredom, apathy, selfishness & ignorance.
Really, I’ve seen the future & it’s not bright. It’s not orange. It can’t spell, or even write with a pen. We should neuter our kids now & force them back to school 2learn only truthful,valuable lessons & see they don’t leave school until they’ve learned a trade, craft or something that they can make money at. If the world doesn’t interest anyone anymore, then we need to lock them up & force hard labour on them until they find a kernel of reason to their existing. They’ll accept any nonsense bs they’re taught - as long as they don’t have to accept God & doing as they’re told.

This movie is one of a kind. John V Soto, whoever you are, genius, thank you. I wish I could show greater appreciation for this caliber of a film, made so profoundly , effectively, beautifully, and with no Hollywood budget - outstanding effort - deserve awards.
Yeah that would make a great mini-series just going from world to world and you got to get out of the wrong world to find the right World it could go on and on. I really enjoyed this movie thank you so much for posting it

Oh! My God, what a story, each moment would be full of the suspect I enjoy the story very much.
This movie is great. The actor that played Matt played Nick on MacLeod's Daughter's, another great Australian series that I watch with my wife. But yeah, this movie was very well done. I believe in Parallel worlds. They do exist and they do run along right beside ours. Some are similar and some are very different. at any rate, this movie is so well done. Great actors and story line
I really don't but it sound like awesome entertainment can't wait to watch with hubby😊

Every prophecy in the Bible is true, has come to pass, and some yet to be fulfilled, with 100% accuracy, check it bro. See you there I hope. BTW, this movie was outstanding.

That was really good, take an old sci-fi stalwart and rework it and you get this, a very well made film with a good storyline well acted, def needs a follow up!

All around, a very good sci-fi flick. I like films that stretch your imagination. Yes, there were some "details" that could have been better, or ethical/moral aspects that could have been explored, but overall, I really enjoyed it. Thank you, Australia.

Wow this was a good movie, need a part 2.
The last line spoken in the film left it very wide open for a sequel, but I'm tending to think it would be a disaster if not done by the very best in the film industry. Something like it's a thousand years into the future where hundreds of millions of P.U.E.T.s 'Parallel Universe Entry Transporters' cover the earth like phone booths of old where billions use them as casually as taking public transport. You could make it crazy with representatives from many other universes meeting to discuss some kind of impending doom this has unleashed, that threatens the multiverse! Ha ha ha!

Cleverly done movie. All cast members did extremely well. There were subtle hints throughout that pointed to the possibility of the last scene happening, but it caught me by surprise anyway. What a great twist. Evil dad VS lovable family was an excellent way to keep the general audience from comprehending the magnitude of change this new technology could introduce for better or worse, and on a much wider scale. Although evil dad showed one of the bad possibilities, the door became open for an infinite number of others far more terrible. The director did a great distractive job pulling viewers heart strings by portraying evil dad as Godzilla vs the innocent Bambi family. Hats off to all involved.

This is a dangerous idea. Not only are you playing with physics and other things we don't understand. I'm sure this technology exists or it can exist in the near future. But the biggest thing is two things you're playing with people's emotions. And when governments in big Corporation and people with a lot of money find out about something like this they'll exploit it. This is why things are designed to be a certain way and we just have to respect it.
I have to tell the truth, it had been a long time since a film of this type surprised me in this way, with such a simple idea, I really liked it, until that open ending that lets the imagination run wild and that I could take advantage of to do something well improved
At the end, that must have made two of them = Paradox!

Im half in the movie, but I can tell you already that the woman made an irresponsible move bringing the father to her world, without the previous consent of her children, nor thinking about their potential emotional hurt .She only thought about her company and sexual needs .

Very interesting story. Well made film. But...who in their right mind would decide to teleport themselves to another world/universe? And bring back someone from that world to your own? Well, there probably are some crazy enough to do that. After all, the world, our world, has created weapons of war that could wipe out all of humanity. If we ever are able to teleport things, let's stick to things for awhile before teleporting people. LOL. Good film, a fun watch.

The way it ended left it wide open for a follow-up movie. I enjoyed the movie; it wasn't a time travel movie, which so many are, but the parallel universe storyline. Now I have to say that I like time travel movies, most of them, and they will really mess with your mind. This was a refreshing change.
I thought it was a little odd that the two kids....young adults....sat next to each other when they were at the table. Yea, probably to have both of them facing the camera, but it was still kinda weird to see. It isn't that way here in the U.S., at least in my house when I was raising my two children...lol..!! Also, the steering wheel was on the right hand side and they drove on the roads opposite of the U.S. I never could get a clear close-up of the license tag to read where it was. Oh well, it's just something that I like to do when watching a movie.
I think a second movie could be exciting.
Note: Another commenter mentioned Australia. I thought about Australia, but I didn't hear the typical Australian accent that we hear in a lot of movies. It doesn't really matter anyway, just interesting to me.

Okay, in spite of a normal suspention of belief for silly science, it is unclear why Jane has trouble returning from the other parallel world when Matt disconnects the cable in the lab. Presumably, the apple and notes were returned just fine without the 350 petawatt input on the receiving pod. Otherwise, this was a pleasantly engaging bit of Sci-Fi.
Transmitter and receiver, two seperate units.
Unplughing one, ie the reciever, prevents receiving what was transmitted.
