it's weird how i hated wrestling in the moment, but now i miss it. how do you guys feel about wrestling? do you guys love it or do you guys have a love hate relationship like me?
Sam Pak I absolutely fucking hated wrestling in season. Always never felt like going to practice but forced myself to push through. Now that I just graduated, I’d do it over again in a heartbeat
Chandiwira Beza Well I wanted to join but I was not skinny so I'm sure I wouldn't get in... I should've join but I'm sure I wouldn't have lasted... I quit soccer after 3 days 😔, I had problems w people of authority cause I didn't like to be told what to do specially be yelled at
Same I wrestled growing until my 8th grade year then I quit when I got to high school because I was more in love with basketball at that time. I just graduated a couple months ago in I wrestled for the first time in 5 yrs got my first win after being on the team for an week and with to district wrestled the 1 number kid in my weight class (I lose of course but did pretty for someone that haven't wrestled in yrs, but I known I could have beaten him if I didn't quit wrestling all them yrs ago or started the season late) I really miss it, but now I enlisted into the army(as Cavalry Scout) I hope later down the road I'll fine an BJJ gym in master BJJ as much as I can!
Please don’t give up, I did it all freshman year and hated it because I was on varsity and only won 4 times but you can’t replace everything you learn from it and everything it does for you. I quit just this year and missed the season and I wish I could go back in time and wrestle again.
Disagree. Met a kid who beat out multiple first years his first year. Never gained varsity because he didn’t have the wrestling stamina to beat them consistently but would win quite a few matches against them. Kid had godly strength and would let you shoot, when you shot he’d put his hand on the top of your neck and squeeze. That was usually enough for people to give up. He would also pick up and slam kids all the time. Beat out a #3 in his weight class at a tournament which was pretty nutty
Damn this shit was straight up dope asf. Wrestling starting up soon and i'm gonna be a junior. I always felt like i did crazy good in practice but in actual matches i always got way too nervous and i always felt mentally weak. This year though i'm very motivated and am shotting for the top.
I can relate to this. My first time wrestling was in my freshman year and I had the same feelings and thoughts....I became the first female wrestler at my school. There were times I wanted to quit but i kept trying.
Dude I can’t explain how awesome this video was put together. Good shit bro this was very motivational and inspiring. You should have 1 million subscribers!!
Being a college wrestler I always wondered what it would be like to end my wrestling career after high school. I realized how much I took it for granite, and should've enjoyed it more than I did. Wrestling is the hardest thing to let go and no words can describe the feelings you go through when it's over. What an amazing journey you had and a great video to relate to.
Start Jujitsu... you will destroy and have something you can have fun competing in for the rest of your life. I wrestled all through school and even into the Navy, then when it stopped, there was something missing. At 39 years old I started Jujitsu and I got that fire back. I had the opportunity to compete in PanAm championships and World Championships in Brazilian Jujitsu. As wrestlers we have a significant advantage as soon as we learn how to relax and use technic over muscle. Wrestling is the best base for so many things; confidence, MMA, Jujitsu, and just winning in life. ;-)
Absolutely! I was addicted to it. After h.s. I joined the military. I went around to different h.s. and would practice with thier teams! I eventually started my own m.s. team for a couple years. It's sooo hard to get out if it!
Went 4-20 as a freshman and then 38-9 as a senior I'll never forget all the great memories I had with the boys along with how wrestling has changed my life for the better, I'll never get away from this sport
Jacob Morrissette gl man. Been wrestling for 10+ years and boy I’ll tell u it is a brutal sport. Nothing feels worse than losing but nothing feels as good as putting in work and winning your first match. You get to see your hard work pay off. The beauty of the sport is you can be as good as you want. Put in all the work u can off and on season go and win all your matches... do the bare minimum and only go the the after school practices it will but I in the back later on
It’s been 4 months since the season ended and.... This was one of the worst decisions of my life. The sport itself wasn’t what bothered me it was everyone in it and the program at my school was so dysfunctional. And I hated every second of being anywhere wasted both my holiday breaks being at practice that I didn’t want to do. I also wasted almost every Saturday being at a stupid tournament. On top of that making weight was annoying and hard. The season just mentally wore me down to almost nothing and I will not be returning for my senior year.
I started wrestling junior year and I have to say the joining was one of the best things that could have ever happened in my life and I really regret not joining sooner. When you join wrestling you not only sign up to join a team you sign up to join a family. Joining helps you develop life long bonds with your brothers and sisters and can change anybody's life and I very strongly encourage anybody that's scared to join to do it because it will be one of your worst mistakes in life not joining sooner, trust me that's what I did and I know I will always regret it.
I started wrestling last year (7th grade) and even though I'm a girl and both of my coaches haven't been the best and I haven't won a match I still love it and wouldn't trade it for any other sport.
@@JeszczeMonke @imyourrealsensei I wrestled 8th grade and two years in high school. I did win my first match my freshman year and placed in a tournament for the first time my sophomore year but in November of that season I tweaked my shoulder in practice and I decided to wrestle through it at a tournament and a girl demolished it. I tried very hard to get over the block that summer with tournaments and a camp and club practice but I never could bc it never stopped hurting. I still love the sport and miss it and it definitely made me a more resilient person
Bouta start my junior szn soon, and man I’ve lowkey been slacking and feeling really unmotivated. But I’m working on myself, and when szn comes, I’m gonna enjoy every second of it. I really wanna show out this szn and senior year. Keep up the work Sam. Much love from Fresno, CA.
This keeps me motivated to complete the next 3 years of high school wrestling. Been wrestling since 5th grade. It’s my sophomore year and I’m ready to shine honestly. I feel like I’ve been slacking a lot lately and this really brung me back. Hope my hard work takes me far.
Unfortunately I was only able to join wrestling in my senior year after transferring to a new school that actually offered it. It was extremely difficult. Since I only wrestled for one season my record was 2-4. One of my losses I was winning 13-6 and the guy pinned me with 1 second remaining on the clock, another loss the guy dislocated my shoulder through a slam but that's only because I didnt know how to fall lol. That dislocation put me out for the remaining part of the season but I always loved wrestling. I was never upset when I lost, even that 1 second match. I was just happy to be apart of the sport
Im3Pac yo this relates so much about almost everything you just said. Except I started my junior year. Same thing happened when I was a senior when I got a fracture during the season and also I had a very low winning record.
@@psychedelicman9219 You shouldn't have to worry too much, just learn how to fall. My shoulder only dislocated because my opponent got a double on me and lifted me in the air and rather than just taking the slam to the back or my side, (Which you should do) I stuck my arm out to try and catch my fall.
My wrestling team finally had contact, we wrestled and I was being beat by mostly everyone my same weight. When practice was over I thought I wouldn't be good for wrestling and thought of quitting. Until I watched this video it motivated me.
I have almost an identical experience in the sport. It’s hard looking back and wondering what I could of done differently but hind sight is 20/20. Thank you for putting in the effort to make this video. It helped me see the bigger picture.
Sam - LOVED this!!! My daughter started her freshman year also and watching your progress through each year was great. Wrestling is such a unique sport and not many get it (not saying I do either). I have grown so much in appreciation and respect for this sport - the footage included in your video had some awesome coaches moments too (and I intend to share this video). The personal growth available through this sport is unmatched in my opinion - each match a wrestler enters and faces one on one combat with another warrior takes so much determination and guts. I was always amazed at what my daughter accomplished and learned not to take it for granted - someone just like her could come along at any moment with heart and determination to change her outcomes. Thank you again for your thoughtful work on this piece as it will impact many current and future wrestling athletes. God bless you in your future endeavors and I look forward to seeing things you produce and share!
It’s my first year I’m decent I was beating people in scrimmages but now watching this I’m going to play everyday like my last thanks man this really moved me
I'm gonna try my hardest not only for myself and my team also the coaching staff but for you Sam .you are a big inspiration for me and opened my eyes to potential I never seen in myself thanks a lot Sam your a real one 💯💯💯
@@thehumanexperience4470 me too you've inspired me to do better than last year, every time i step on the mat i dont care if its just practice im putting my heart into every match ❤ 💪
I’m in 8th grade and have been practicing to join my highschool wrestling team next year, this gave me a different look on winning, I didn’t even look at it at this kind of perspective, thanks for making this mate 🙏
What a great video, I have a similar experience as we wrestled the same years! Started as a freshmen and lost a lot. Miss it so much, made it to states my sophomore & Junior year. Both DNP. Fortunately thanks to god, hard work and the best team/coaches I was able to win the state championship my senior year and top off my wrestling experience!
Man I wish I couldve kept wrestling and went to college for it. My wrestling coach was more of a "push em over and lay on em" kind of coach. No real technique, or even coaching. I waxed his ass being 60 pounds lighter than him! We beat a big team and he said "this dont mean shit assholes". The bus was silent when we should have been celebrating. Most of everything I learned was from a Georgia team I wrestled with in 6th grade, or youtube videos I studied religiously. I eventually left after my junior year to go find a job. Going into freshman year of highschool I went to a D1 wrestling camp and they were trying to recruit me thinking I was going to be a freshman in college! I routinely technically picked apart state champions with moves I learned off youtube! I always regret not asking to switch schools for a better program and pursuing wrestling further with the passion I had for the sport. Seeing great programs on youtube and how different it was from our program is like chinese to me, but it's great to see theres other programs out there that are the polar opposite of one I was at. Enough of the rant. Wrestling is hands down the greatest sport on earth and I will be sure to get my kids to try it out when I have some.
I miss my freshman year getting picked on by the seniors I miss going to far away tournaments I miss staying at hotels I miss hanging with the team I miss wrestling 😭😭
This hit hard. I miss the grind, I miss the boys, I miss everything wrestling gave me. I’m in the exact same situation I’m in my first semester of college and all I want to do is relive my wrestling experience 😢.
I made varsity my sophomore year and was winning a decent amount now it’s my last year as a senior , I feel way more powerful and confident to this sport now bro u can’t describe this feeling
I've wrestled my entire life and it's an amazing sport. I'm extremely grateful for you making your videos and capturing your journey to share with everyone. I wish I had the wisdom to do so as well. You're amazing young man and a real shining example of what it means to be a wrestler. Best of luck in the rest of your journey it's far from over. Thanks brother .
You inspired me to get better at wrestling and to work hard. My first year was my freshman year. I’m a sophomore this year. Your words truly help me to get better and thrive for more. My first year of wrestling, I lost by 1 point and didn’t make it to state. I was sad and upset and angry but, true story I just watched one of your videos. They really are inspiring to watch and I workout every day push ups every day stay fit every day. Wrestling is such a amazing sport and you showed me its more then that and to keep on going to achieve what you want to achieve. With hard work you will get better. And I wanna be in the Georgia State Tornament. Without you man dunno if I would be as good as I am and I can’t wait for the new season to start up I’m going to go as hard as I can this year. My goal is to place at state or be a state champion
Admire your path kid, much respect. I still remember walking down to the mat room after my senior season had ended, in a way, I couldn't except it was over ...
Man this brings me back, I graduated in 2017 wrestles my whole life and still sucked my freshman year, only to become a legitimate contender senior year, this really hit home, thank you.
I started wrestling at the age of 8 or 9.....It has been that long, my memory is there. Anyway, I wrestled through to college and then took up Judo. Wrestled and have done judo since then. Sam, you have a lot of life in front of you and you have a fantastic mind, vision and heart. You are a champion and you dont have anything to prove to me. Now at 46 I coach and havent competed for 12 years in anything but recovering from surgery. There isnt much of wrestling left after HS. But GRAPPLING is always there and with your wrestlers skills.....you will be amazing brother. Take it on. Peace.
This is my last year of kiddie school wrestling and I’ve had many moments where I’ve wanted to quit but it’s just the joy of learning that move, getting that pin, wrestling with your teammates is what makes me stay for the long run
Great job on this video! I wrestled in high school, that was my only sport. The practices were(and still is) absolutely a "grind". The matches, one v one, yelling and screaming, one winner, one loser, everybody watching. For the rest of my life, wrestling gave me a certain confidence and self discipline, that I know I would never have, if I didn't wrestle. I served in the military right out of high school, of course push-ups, pull ups, sit-ups were a breeze and I scored the highest in my company. The confidence and self discipline would carry me through architecture school in college, and today as an owner of my own firm. I wrestled in high school over 45 years ago, greatest decision I ever made. Good luck in your life.
Best thing I ever took up. I was terrible my freshman year, but progressed each summer by lifting, going to camps, tournaments, etc. Eventually I won my district tournament twice, and won my regional tournament once. I made it to state but didn't place. I wanted to quit my freshman year because I was getting dominated by kids who weren't as strong or athletic as me. I'm so glad they made me keep going because I have never put in so much work into one sport in my life. This carried over into my real life. I think everyone should wrestle.
Awesome vid kid! Miss my son in wrestling. He couldve went to state but it was really tough for him here in Cali. He wrestled in one of the toughest divisions in the state..the SWYL. It made him a good son. Proud of him no matter what and im sure your parents are the same. Thanks for giving me something cool to watch. Loved it👍👊
Sam, you did awesome for having only started your freshman year! My oldest son just finished his HS wrestling career and is wrestling for Fresno State now and still loves the grind after 11 years of wrestling. My younger son will start his HS career next year with 10 years of wrestling experience (he is only in 8th grade). I just wish you started the age my kids started...you could have been a 4x State Champ judging by how you looked at just 4 years of wrestling. You did awesome my friend!!!! You should be proud of yourself!
As a freshman that just began the conditioning grind for the first time in my life, this is such a well made and useful video. Thank you so much for making this!
Ah i love this Sam, im not out of high school yet, but i will say even having a glimpse of no wrestling makes me miss the sport even more than it should.
This really has me deep in my feelings... i didn’t start wrestling until my senior year (i graduated this year). It was so fucking tough, i weighed 124 after every practice without cutting but had to wrestle 130 because the 125r had been on the team longer than me. My first match i lost to a girl. I remember crying when i got home after some practices, not because because of the hard practices (my athleticism got me through) but because i felt like i wasn’t getting it. I lost every match until like my 6th and suddenly it clicked for me. I ended my first and last season 18-11 varsity. I went from dreading Saturday and Wednesday meets because the embarrassment of losing to embracing the grind and accepting defeat potentially coming my way. After the season i still went to all the offseason practices until i graduated. From the middle of my season to my last match my coaches always said things like “you’re so good if only you started sooner” “you should’ve been a state champ if only” etc. I’ve always wanted to wrestle but the school i was at Freshman-Junior year didn’t have it. I literally convinced my mom to let my go to a school 30 mins away for my senior year so i could try the sport I’ve always wanted to do. Not a day goes by that i don’t think “If only i had the chance to start sooner”. I’ve been doing jiu jitsu lately and that’s been making me feel a lot better but nothing will ever compare to the grind of wrestling and getting your hand raised on a wrestling mat in front of like 27 people LMAO 😂
Seeing my school my home town and my everyday training room at 3:15 really is humbling. Saint paris graham is and always will be the best high school in the world. Being a JR in high school and wrestling varsity has been that most proud moment of my life. Thank you for making this video it makes me want to get up and wrestle for my family, Go falcons !❤️
Man I remember walking into my first practice in 6 the grade and then boom it's high school I remember walking outta my first highschool practice thinking I'm quitting I'm never gonna do this again but then that lil voice in my head said nah let's see where this thing goes and in an instant I'm a senior and thinking this is my year I'm gonna absorb everything I can I've been grinding forever let's see where it takes me and as I'm typing this districts is 2 days out and I have 9 practices left and I'm speechless idk how I can be so excited to finally eat normal and be normal and not have to cut and not have to do conditioning but in losing that be removed from what I've called mine for 7 seasons now the sport and the family that comes with it idk if it was something I needed to get off my chest before my fate is decided in 2 days. All I can say is enjoy it man like he said all the seniors say it but honestly i ain't gonna remember the bad stuff just all the family and fun and everliving memories I've had throughout the years so enjoy it while it lasts cuz one day you never know you'll be on the mat for the last time. Edit:. I placed third in districts so now I get to advance to regionals which is this Saturday and now I only have a total of 5 practices and the nerves are running high but I'm just trying to get my head right and enjoy what's left of this lifetime experience I get to enjoy called Wrestling
This is a great film. Wrestling sucked sometimes. It wasn't fun a lot. It had fun moments, rewarding moments in it. It also had moments that broke you down. Whether it be a practice that you just don't want to go through, or a match you shouldn't have lost. But, at the end of the day, wrestling was always worth it. The hard work put in and the satisfaction of knowing you gave it your all. But then there's always a little doubt, "Could I have given more?" You work as hard as you can and try to get by that, so you know you gave it everything. The bonds formed with teammates and the memories made will always be remembered. #ItsWorthIt
So I’m in my sophomore year and this is my second year of wrestling. My first year I only won two matches and I was really self conscious because other people’s first year was great. After watching this, I feel more confident
yo shit i love you bro so inspired to stick with wrestling, freshman year in highschool thanks for this it helped me understand that as time goes on i’ll get better🙏🏽❤️
Good job dude. I was wrestling coach at Grovetown high from 2018-2019 seasons. I there matside when you wrestled Torres. He's now on the cheer team at some college doing well for himself.
I think you did an excellent job with the video and the wrestling. I graduated in 1974 and this brought back a lot of memories both good and bad. Keep up the good work you will go far whatever path you choose.
My my dude been watching since I was an ickle freshman, just watching all your videos and enjoying them. Getting to know you and your team through the videos and all. Heading into my junior season, and I'm gonna miss your videos. Good luck in your future pursuits Sam
Thank you for making this video. It really did motivate me to keep wrestling because this is my first year and last week I had my first match and got pinned twice, and since then I've kinda been beating myself up about it. But after watching this video, you helped me understand that winning really isn't everything, and I'll only get better through experience. Thanks again Sam for being an inspiration to me
Ay Sam, you are a talented and brilliant filmmaker, don't let anybody tell you otherwise. I just graduated in 2020 after four years of wrestling, and what you talked about hit different man. You have a bright future.
Sam pak. I’m a 138 pound wrestler . I’ve been watching you since my freshman year . I’m a junior now . Our season starts in a month and bro i promise you have just motivated me to go all out this year and the next . Since my 9 grade year I’ve been making small goals for myself and yes I’ve met them but I always come short of state . Last season I said I wanted to win a match in sectionals and I did but I came short of state by a match . I see now I need to set my goal to win state. I see now that I can’t any match for granted . Thanks bro . I’m going in this season !!. Love your channel man . Really inspired me just now
Sam Pak would be dope if you gave me a documentary. Like for my wrestling team . We’re a not a wrestling school by chance but we have some killers and this being a documentary would be legendary. Like bro I would really want
I just had my first practice as a freshman. I actually threw up twice in the bathroom but pushed through. I sucked so bad in practice that I only took my partner down once or twice. Im looking foward to this season and hopefully i'm at least decent. Wish me luck guys
I'm about to start my sophomore season and it's my 2nd year of wrestling, I didnt win any matches last year either, but seeing you have the same issues and going to state gives me hope that one day I'll be the champ, and I'll work hard and savor the grind everyday
Thank you brother, my senior year didnt go as played and i have been mentally beating myself up over it every second since then. I needed this thanks again!
yo my senior year was the complete opposite of what i wanted. but if you take a step back, you'll realize whatever you placed or didn't place it really doesnt mean much. whats more important is the memories you've made
Its a different kind of experience, the mental and physical strength it builds, the friendships you make, the moments youll experience, late night bus rides with your teamates, some eating left over snacks, half of us sleeping. Might sounds corny but you go to war with these guys every week for four months.
This is 1 of your best video's Sam. Life will keep coming at you faster from here on out. Use the urgency your coaches and partners have taught you the last few yrs. And Sam, keep taking those shots...
During my 8th grade year i did a good job but lost at the end and now i finally noticed that i have to give it all now in my freshman year before it's too later and you are my motivation to be the best i can this year thank you man.

How is it been going for you nowadays?
Did you keep going?
Much love from Fresno, CA.
good luck on your season and give it your all. it'll b over before you know it haha
Same bro, I can really relate with you. I’m a junior from riverside California. Just gotta get after it now.
Kev same I’m from Roseville California
Junior gang Cali gang!!! Rancho Cucamonga📍hope to see y’all at state🤼♂️🤙🏼
I’m also bout to start my season in about 3 weeks. Gotta lose 23 lbs for this year to get to 152. High hope though😁😁
This keeps me motivated to complete the next 3 years of high school wrestling. Been wrestling since 5th grade. It’s my sophomore year and I’m ready to shine honestly. I feel like I’ve been slacking a lot lately and this really brung me back. Hope my hard work takes me far.
Went from a heavyweight to a 152 over the summer and I have no idea how to wrestle there. Wish me luck boys.
gotta learn to be fast it’s a big difference from heavyweight make sure you learn to be fast
how the hell
Im a freshmen wrestler and im going into my first ever wrestling match in november can u wish me luck i could use it
same here
GeNgar Playz good luck and same here y’all wish me luck as well
Good luck
me too!! good luck
good luck dude!! you wont be good right off the bat, but once you start winning more, it gets a lot more fun
Now I’m scared 😭I’m a senior and it’s gonna be my first year wrestling I’m not tryna dislocate anything
Loved the vid Sam, even if your channel isnt about wrestling no more I support you regardless
that means a lot. appreciate the support!
That is a coach that speaks from heart
i’m in my first year of wrestling and honestly i’ve started having my doubts but i’m so thankful that i came across this video
Super well made🔥🔥can’t wait for the future vids
:) thanks for watching josh, but no more wrestling :(
God I love this sport so much, my Senior year is right around the corner! Here’s to one last go around!
You got this.
It’s my first year I’m decent I was beating people in scrimmages but now watching this I’m going to play everyday like my last thanks man this really moved me
Love this vid. Also your duck unders indeed were insane🔥🔥
they're ok
I'm gonna try my hardest not only for myself and my team also the coaching staff but for you Sam .you are a big inspiration for me and opened my eyes to potential I never seen in myself thanks a lot Sam your a real one 💯💯💯
means a lot that i can have an impact. kill it this season!
@@thehumanexperience4470 me too you've inspired me to do better than last year, every time i step on the mat i dont care if its just practice im putting my heart into every match ❤ 💪
I feel strangely nostalgic even though I just started high school
What highschool u go to
Clapz ON ME yea, you’re weird if you think he’s actually going to tell you what high school he goes to.
@@Jonathan-zo5ylshut up who ask you to talk like shut up and i might go to lincoln highschool1
Clapz ON ME Daygo?
Clapz ON ME shut up little kid , never ask personal questions online again.
Who else comes back to this video once and a while to experience the emotions 😭
easily one of the best videos i’ve seen on here. the story telling.. the background music.. and most of all the HxH quote 🙏🏽✌🏽
I miss my freshman year getting picked on by the seniors I miss going to far away tournaments I miss staying at hotels I miss hanging with the team I miss wrestling 😭😭
Damn me being a wrestler as a sophomore it’s fun I remember my freshman year almost making it to states
you’ve really developed in your video editing/filming.
so much more room for improvement tho
BEST WISHES IN YOUR FUTURE and BEST WISHES IN 2020!! GOD BLESS YOU!!! ALLL THE WAY FROM INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA. LOVE WRESTLING....
This is about to be my senior of wrestling something about this sport makes me come back every year LETS GET THIS SEASON STARTED
yea every year i had something in me to not do it but the feeling of not wrestling was greater and made me come back
Goodluck bro do big things
Admire your path kid, much respect. I still remember walking down to the mat room after my senior season had ended, in a way, I couldn't except it was over ...
You are a true champion. Exactly how I felt my senior year and I’m 30 years old now. Respect champ 💪🏼
That's so true, winning ain't everything, it's the journey that matters
Man this brings me back, I graduated in 2017 wrestles my whole life and still sucked my freshman year, only to become a legitimate contender senior year, this really hit home, thank you.
I love your video editing
The coach’s speech towards the end was inspirational.
As a freshman female wrestler wanting to be the state champ, thank you for this video. It’s very inspiring ❤️
dont let the fact that the sport is mainly guys affect you. let that be motivation to do even better. girls can wrestle too!
I'mma pop off. So hyped for the season
kill it this season!
@@thehumanexperience4470 thanks dawg will do. States here i come
I missed wrestling when it was over, had the opportunity to wrestle in college and now I’m a coach. Time flies, appreciate these moments
Great job on this video! I wrestled in high school, that was my only sport. The practices were(and still is) absolutely a "grind". The matches, one v one, yelling and screaming, one winner, one loser, everybody watching. For the rest of my life, wrestling gave me
a certain confidence and self discipline, that I know I would never have, if I didn't wrestle.
Excellent advice. Time flies. Enjoy the moment and journey. Set your standards high and enjoy the process
Makes me wana cry.
Man I feel you this hit hard. I just graduated and miss it so much already. I got college to look forward to and hope you do too!
The production and effort put into this is TOP NOTCH
As a freshman that just began the conditioning grind for the first time in my life, this is such a well made and useful video. Thank you so much for making this!
Ah i love this Sam, im not out of high school yet, but i will say even having a glimpse of no wrestling makes me miss the sport even more than it should.
It’ll over before you know it 😥
This really has me deep in my feelings... i didn’t start wrestling until my senior year (i graduated this year).
That 27 people is so true. Thanks for sharing your story. These are the comments that always motivate me to continue to make vids
This video gives me so much hope as a first year freshman, with no wins in the first semester. Thanks
Damn
That quote at the beginning from yianni is so wise and relatable
Man once you aren’t doing wrestling no more you miss the sweat and tears during each practice and match 🥺
Such an amazing video Sam, you captured a feeling I could never describe Thankyou for posting this:)
Dude you got a BRIGHT FUTURE IN DOCUMENTARY FILM MAKING
Wrestling turns boys to men...it was my greatest teacher and paved the way for me to be successful in all my career paths
You have a bright future.
so proud of u sam
Really inspired me just now
I’m glad I can make an impact. Thanks for sharing your story. It’s crazy that you’ve been watching since freshman year. Thx for sticking around.
Sam Pak would be dope if you gave me a documentary. Like for my wrestling team . We’re a not a wrestling school by chance but we have some killers and this being a documentary would be legendary. Like bro I would really want
I joined wrestling this year as a freshman and it was all because of this video. Couldn’t imagine not wrestling
I just had my first practice as a freshman. I actually threw up twice in the bathroom but pushed through. I sucked so bad in practice that I only took my partner down once or twice. Im looking foward to this season and hopefully i'm at least decent. Wish me luck guys
Still wrestling?
I'm about to start my sophomore season and it's my 2nd year of wrestling, I didnt win any matches last year either, but seeing you have the same issues and going to state gives me hope that one day I'll be the champ, and I'll work hard and savor the grind everyday
How was it
Thank you brother, my senior year didnt go as played and i have been mentally beating myself up over it every second since then. I needed this thanks again!
yo my senior year was the complete opposite of what i wanted. but if you take a step back, you'll realize whatever you placed or didn't place it really doesnt mean much. whats more important is the memories you've made
Why am I getting nostalgia from this when I’m a freshman?
Its a different kind of experience, the mental and physical strength it builds, the friendships you make, the moments youll experience, late night bus rides with your teamates, some eating left over snacks, half of us sleeping. Might sounds corny but you go to war with these guys every week for four months.
Sick ending and wrap up. Excited for the upcoming content, keep it up!
Wow such a great video, really illustrates the ups and downs of wrestling and what it will do for you as a whole. Thank you for making this video!!!!
Most inspiring video I’ve seen about this sport.
Great video! I will cry many nights when my son's wrestling ends.
This is 1 of your best video's Sam. Life will keep coming at you faster from here on out. Use the urgency your coaches and partners have taught you the last few yrs. And Sam, keep taking those shots...
for sure dude! i learned so much from wrestling and my coaches
During my 8th grade year i did a good job but lost at the end and now i finally noticed that i have to give it all now in my freshman year before it's too later and you are my motivation to be the best i can this year thank you man.
