    God I love Izzo. The media and kids nowadays are babies and can’t handle a little adversity. I wish they had to live thru the 80s and 90s and what it was like then with coaches. I love it, and trust me, Aaron Henry loves it too, maybe not now, but as he grows he will. I’m so sick of the PC culture we live in and so glad to have a coach like Izzo at the helm! Go Green!

      Someone used the term SNOWFLAKE and that was appropriate. With all of Knight’s faults, he did make his players tougher and it paid off in games and from what I have seen even in life. Izzo is an old school throwback and that is why even Indiana fans appreciate him. MSU has a great one and all should be thankful that you have him.
      Like Ali, NEVER bet against Izzo.

    Oh I love the sarcasm at the end... "No, no, no, we went into halftime and we had a love fest. We all gathered around, we hugged each other and said, 'listen, it's ok, guys, that we got out-rebounded by a smaller team.. it's ok, but if we could find a way to do a little better job, it would probably help us win' , and that's what we did, to be honest with you".
    Tommy is the man. Anybody who wants to do the usual wuss bag, PC whining that we see in today's culture because you saw Coach being a big mean meanie, maybe you should do some research on what Izzo's current and former players think of him. You won't find many coaches who are as loved by their players as Tom Izzo is.
    Izzo hasn't changed his coaching style in 24 years at MSU and nobody has ever had a problem with it until this era of overwrought emotion and safe spaces. He symbolizes the little bit of American exceptionalism that remains in today's culture, which has embraced the idea that mediocrity is totally ok, as long as we make sure we don't hurt anybody's precious feeeeeelings.
    You keep doing you, Coach! Real Americans still love you and so do your players!

    Tough love is love, izzo gets into the players head so that they self-monitor and internally coach themselves, he's a Jedi pulling mind tricks

    It's now the day after the now infamous Finger PointGate and I have a different perspective on all of it. Best thing I could have done is listen to NFL Hall of Fame Cris Carter's views on all of it on ESPN. If you don't know his history and his relationship with former coach Buddy Ryan, and you love sports, you should look into it. Coach Izzo recruited Aaron Henry, and the kid decided he wanted to play at MSU. I have no doubts Aaron is a good natured, fun loving kid who likes to joke around, but yes, he is just a kid. A freshman college basketball player. I also have no doubts that Coach Izzo has a special relationship with this young man. Coach is trying to mold him into what he believes Aaron can become as a player and a human being. Sometimes that road is going to be bumpy and sometimes it is going to get heated. If you don't understand that? You don't understand mentors, coaches, kids and student athletes and you don't understand sports.

    Go on twitter and look at all the former players coming out to support Izzo, including Gary Harris who is Henry's mentor and the one who guided him to MSU.

    Seriously? I grew up on IU Basketball and Bobby Knight. Knight makes Tom Izzo look like Mr. Rodgers!!! For all of the cupcakes that have a problem with Izzo's coaching style, all I can say is that I am glad as hell you are not in charge of training our military troops!!!

    Cash Money and Quaido are awesome. State seemed a little tired today but still managed to wear out Bradley. We obviously have a lot of talent where it counts. Coach was a bit crabby today, but nothing new there. Go Green!

    I didn't understand why he was so annoyed about the rebounding question. He answered it very sarcastically. Maybe he was still annoyed at the Aron Henry question? I do listen to his post-game press conferences and this seemed a little out of character for him. I was curious what others thought. Go Green!

    • @kyles.3514
      @kyles.3514 5 лет назад

      He was definitely still annoyed after the questions started focusing on his confrontation with Henry. And I think the last question was fine until the very end of it when the reporter said, "I imagine there was some 'challenging' going on", which was another reference to his yelling at Henry or other players. So he decided to give a smartass response like oh yeah, no I would never yell at my players... We were basically singing Kumbaya together and that's how we fix things around here... lol

    No problem at all with a coach riding a kid's ass during a practice or game, but Coach should have handled the post-game presser better - and in particular should have spent more time focusing on the way Henry reacted and the big contributions the kid made at the end of the game when it really mattered. I suspect part of what got Izzo so angry during the game is the realization that half his team is injured and he couldn't use the bench to teach Henry a lesson - he needed the kid to learn on the fly and in real-time. Bottom line is that Henry is a big part of the Spartans' success the last 3 or 4 weeks, and the team is going to need him if it wants to keep advancing.

    • @kyles.3514
      @kyles.3514 5 лет назад

      I definitely agree that part of his frustration all season has been not having enough depth because of injuries. He is being forced this year to leave guys on the floor when they are making stupid mistakes or dogging it. That's not something he has had to do very often in his career and he hates having to do it.
      But I think he handled the post game presser just fine. I've heard him mention a couple of times since Thursday that Henry responded by making a big shot and a couple of big free throws towards the end of the game. He has given Henry the credit he deserves. But I can understand his aggravation when he has members of the media basically questioning his coaching style that he has used for 24 years. Izzo is extremely passionate about what he does and I can completely empathize with him feeling disrespected when a bunch of media members want to stand there on their soap boxes and basically question his Integrity as a coach and mentor to his players. Those media members have no conceivable idea how much love and time and sacrifice he has put into his career at Michigan State. I can honestly say that if I were in Izzo's shoes, I don't think I would have handled it as well as he did.

    I'm very disappointed about Tom Izzo's treatment of Aaron Henry. Izzo humiliated Henry b 4 the nation! Such awful behavior by the coach can cause athletes 2 not enroll at MSU. Izzo can ill afford 2 have such a bad meltdown 2 the point of embarrassing players. Hopefully, coach will not develop a pattern of "losing it"! Discipline players humanely, not like a "wild dude"!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😪

    • @marissadepolo7364
      @marissadepolo7364 5 лет назад +9

      Have you seen Tom Izzo coach literally any other game? What he did today is not out of the ordinary. Henry messed up big time, so Coach was letting him know. At this time of the year, you're a winner or loser. Stakes are higher than ever. Coach gets mad when his players don't do what he says because he knows their potential. Shows how passionate he is about his guys.
      And I disagree with your point saying that athletes will not enroll at MSU. I can guarantee you the best athletes are the strongest ones mentally, and will want to be under one of the greatest Coaches ever.
      I can assure you that Henry is doing just fine, and will be a better player and man in the long run. Don't worry about him. :)

      Hey barb go back to the kitchen you obviously don’t know what good coaching is this is one and done time you don’t let ur players slack and what happened after izzo got a Henry he went and made some key stops and buckets and helped the team win he’s a freshman you cut those mistakes in the ass and make sure they don’t happen again don’t speak on something you have no idea what the best option is to do

      Single mom? This is a perfect example of why kids need their fathers in their homes. Mothers are great for coddling, fathers are great for discipline. Without both, you end up with a soft society in need of safe spaces.
