Quebert at 14 months old talking don't know if you could here him at the end saying rub a dub . he is starting to say a lot more but some of it is hard to decipher.
My parrotlet knew 100 words and 25 phrases before he passed at a very early age.. These birds are great talkers. People used to say the could learn a couple of words. Not true at all. They can say anything, just have to work with them.
@@michholl2 I talked to him all the time. I now have another parrotlet, Benny. Every time I offer him something to eat I say, do you want some cereal, do you want some cheese, etc. I tell him, Benny is a pretty boy. I say, Good job Benny and You can do it, any time he climbs or picks up a toy. He is with me all the time and his cage is next to my favorite chair. I talk to him as though he’s a person in the room. He literally can learn anything I say. Keep repeating the phrase until he learns it. Once he does he will not forget it. Benny will sometimes be relaxing in his cage and start running through all the phrases he knows. It’s so adorable. What is so crazy about these little guys is that they actually know what they are saying. When Benny wants out of his cage he will say, Do you wanna come out, I say that to him every time I take his out of his cage. Now he knows when he says that I’ll let him out. Same with, Do you want some scritches. I say it every time I give him head scritches. Now he knows to ask when he wants scritches. These little guys are so smart, smarter than people realize. It’s really all a matter of talking to them all the time and repeating the same phrases til they learn it. Even though he knows all these phrases I still repeat them all the time as I interact with him. I think once they realize they can talk, they learn new phrases even faster.
So cute! We had a pastel yellow he was 3 months and such a great talker but he passed. Accidentally :(( my heart is broke but we have decided to get another one a little blue boy another 3 weeks and he will be ready
That's very impressive, great teaching with your bird! May I ask what age did he start to talk? I have a 10 week old male Parrotlet just adopted this week. On the internet, it states 5 months.
@@miamimickbonham7543 10 weeks old. I do think there is a window of learning vocabulary where they learn the best and the fastest, just like in children, but they can still learn at any age. Benny is almost three years old and I recently taught him to say, I love you. It took him about two weeks. And, I think there are some words that may be harder for them to formulate so it takes longer for them to learn that particular word, again, just like with kids. I think the L sound in love was a little harder for him to articulate, but he got it.
@@ajlathekrepeloverofficial5420 it’s very easy to tell a male parrotlet from a female. Can’t mistake the two unless you keep your eyes closed at the time.
How much, how much love, for Baby Quebert, because Baby Jael, aka, Baby Lucky's looking for a boyfriend... Is he a little older than a year and a half???, That's if he's for sale, she wants one talking!!!!!
Precious - so articulate!!!!❤
I like how he shrugs his wings every time he talks XD
My honestly does this too sometimes!

I’m sorry for your loss. But how did you teach him? I want mine to learn.

so cute!! My Zazoo is about 6yrs old and refuses to talk when I am around xD
Run a dub is a good one, I think most words should have associated ACTION
I spend a lot of time with and let him listen to Kool Aid . My sister in law wants to take him to her house so hopefully her bird can learn from him!

I’ve also read that some parrotlets just aren’t interested in learning to talk. Not sure I believe that.

@@donnanelson9181 I do know that male parrotlets have a blue marking around their eyes.
