I was new to fancies last year and I accidentally did all these things. I had three fancies in a 75 gallon that started out as itty bitty fish. The room they were in was constantly warm from running computers and the tank was always about 76-78 degrees. I changed the water constantly. And I fed them 3-4 times a day with a high protein pellet that had for other fish.
I now know a LOT more about how to keep fancies, they get plenty of veggies and proper food, and fewer feedings. But I now have three absolute chonkers the size of coconuts in a 125 gallon in my living room, and I love them.

The thing that he said in the video is called growout challenge or grooming/goldfish show. the reason why they boost feed their goldfish is because the only have 3 months before the judging. Some can grow 3cm fish to 10cm or jumbo size in 2 months. This is advance fish keeping
To do this: when ur fish is 3cm or less than 7cm u don't have to worry much about overfeeding, I feed mine 10 times a day. first in the morning wheat germ, second feeding steam egg, and 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 feedings, I drop pellets that has 60% or 57% protein and in the evening I feed them brine shrimps . and in 20 days you will see result. steam egg and live food will really make ur fish grow fast and make their body more round. also u must change the water at maximum of 30 percent or 25% of water after feeding your steam eggs. leftover steam eggs will really make ur tank polluted or raise ammonia levels if u leave it for 7 hrs or more. so better siphon them. steam egg recipe is composed of different pellets like purple, red and green saki hikari pellets and probiotics just like dymax vita vibrant used for arowanas just mix them all together, also add spirulina powder & astaxanthin for fast molting or color change of the fish. Put ur heater around 29C or 30, i put mine in 33C in cold weather. In Thailand they put up to 40C. :> .also the fish will stop eating when they are full just observe them.
lastly the ideal tank for growing fish fast is to put only 2 fish in a 36x18x18 (LxWxH). if you have a bigger one like 60x18x18 you can put around 4 to 5 fishes. To conclude 1 fish = 12x18x18 in inches. If your fish is big enough like 7cm and above only feed 4 times a day or 3 and feed protein pellets just to maintain their color dont feed them much just like the young ones as they are now prone to overfeeding.
Must have: Heater atleast 300 watts for fast pooping :3
    good aeration or airpump
    and filtration.
    foods, supplements and etc:
live food like bloodworms and brine shrimps
color enhancing like vita vibrant from dymax
just observe your fish and u will see results :3

In the Philippines, goldfish groomers feed as much as 16 times a day. Keeping water temp as high as 30c. But water change once or twice a day, 50%. Fish grows so fast in 90 days!

Yeah, but at what cost ? They might get big but will not have very long lives. I have three very healthy adult goldfish which are over 12 yrs old, but there’s no way I’d keep them in such a high temp…that’s just too stressful…they are NOT tropical fish, and should not be kept in such warm water.

Another thing is to not have more than one goldfish realistically because the goldfish releases hormones into the water and since it's a small tank it's very potent so it will keep him small. That's why goldfish in lakes and stuff get so huge. Much mess potent in larger water.

I also had about 9 in a 250L tank (69galons) but now I only have 4 in my 69gal tank (moved others to different tanks). I’m now feeding 5 times a day with a high protein diet and doing 50%+ water changes every second day. Do you think my fish will grow or do you think they would be stunted? I’ve seen some noticeable growth but I’m now hoping my new routine will make them grow more (tank is also set to 73* temp). Would love some feedback!!!

Is there ever a time where it's "too late" to help grow a bigger goldfish? I usually get my goldfish from petstores and I know they don't get the best upbringing and that can stunt the growth. Also, is there also any issue with putting baby goldfish into a deeper tank? I thought I saw somewhere on your tiktok that putting baby to young (?) goldfish into say, a full 55gal might be bad for them to fully grow because the added pressure is too much. If that's the case, when is the time to move your young goldfish into a bigger tank?
Tysm for videos, it's an awesome live and recent resource!!

    • @thepandasayshello
      @thepandasayshello 3 года назад +8

The goldies at most pet stores are pretty young still so they have plenty time to grow. I don’t think there is enough tank pressure to hurt goldfish but you usually want to get a longer shaped tank.

I disagree about the hormone thing. I kept mine in pristine water in a 55 gallon, changing 50% or more twice per week and fed them fairly well with a varied diet. They were very healthy and happy and spawned constantly. They never grew.
My brother in law however kept one in a 10 gallon along with a pleco (I know, I know) and fed the hell out of him using just plain fish food. He changed the filter and the water enough to keep it clear but nothing above and beyond and it grew so much it couldn't turn around in the tank. It was huge. The pleco he had to give away because it too couldn't move in the tank anymore, either.
Speaking purely of growth, it just comes down to feeding, feeding and more feeding.
