I had my doubts about Dimensity a year and a half ago. But as a normal user I got a phone with D1200 and I haven’t seen lags, jitters or phone stutters. There was no heating issues either. Apps open quick enough, although I am not in any hurry for them to open. Gaming is fine, I can’t comment much as I am not a hardcore mobile gamer. If you ask me, I would recommend it as an alternative to SD. It’s cheaper and gets the job done.

I'm NOT buying a MediaTek phone again... Tried to install a custom ROM on my phone and hard bricked it, and company asked to change motherboard. I tried every way to unbrick it to no avail. MediaTek ruins bootloader if phone is bricked. Finally, I asked a local repair shop to remove the UFS and flash it. Costed 2000. Snapdragon is the way to go for me. I know, all people aren't into modding their phones deeply, but for my use case, I can't stand using the OEM firmware.

Or, for 4G, there is Redmi Note 10 Pro which has 732G and a wider custom ROM support. Or the POCO X3 Pro, which has the good old SD 860. But I wouldn't buy it considering the LCD display and rising motherboard issues. Overall: For gaming - POCO F4 (non GT) For light usage: 5G - POCO X4 Pro/Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G - Redmi Note 10 Pro
Waited for a very long time for Mediatek Dimensity 9000 chip to launch in India last year, and when it didn't, bought an SD8G1. So get your act together Mediatek. Otherwise you still loose even though you're ahead of your competition... I've used Mediatek 800 on my Moto midranger work phone. I can see it handles battery life and 5G way better.

I would say 8100 is Mediatek best chip till date, it is very much power efficient than 8+ Gen 1 and 1 and A13 Bionic. The only drawback is it has low peak performance compared to these 2 chips . Hoping 8200 follows same I really appreciate how the team is keen about the video. Literally at 1:23 can see how the cores are shown up with ( 1 3 4)

Never purchase a Mediatek processor because they have poor longevity and simply throttle when it gets hot. SoCs are much better for supporting of apps and games when compared to mediatek Mediatek doesn't even support high graphics What good is a powerful processor if the apps and games don't work well as there support isn't good!
I have a RealMe 8 Pro with the same 720G SoC, but there aren't any dependable G-cam mods available anywhere! By the way, Technolobe released a video yesterday showing G-cam on the Redmi Note 12 Pro, the non-plus variant. Except portrait mode, everything works!

I feel like all mediatek chips don't have good enough dsps. Audio quality is always better on a phone with a snapdragon cpu. I own a suzuki ciaz which doesnt have the best of audio setups but connecting it with my nord 2, it gives a muddied sound which can be fixed with an Eq. But it doesn't get loud at all. Connecting it to my old oneplus 7 pro with snapdragon 855 provides crystal clear audio which gets deafening at higher volume.
No matter how many influencers promote Mediatek, no one is going to openly opt for a mediatek processor over a snapdragon. It's like we picking Intel over AMD(I know now the scene is different but you can't also compare AMD with Mediatek).
Only if Mediatek released their kernel sources so developers could optimize games and create custom ROMs!

Does Gcam functions well in new mediatecks ? Using sd720g till now it gave me stable performance and great Gcam support .
