I know people were pissed about this and though it was an unfair win, but I think it was perfectly fair. Their only job was to a)stay upright and b)cross the line first. None of the others could manage that, he could. Therefore he was the best skater of the day. Simple as that.
It was fair, he didn’t trip them over. Lol
Yes 😊
To finish first, you have to finish, first.
Definitely. I can remember a British female skater who dominated the sport and was a near untouchable world champ at three distances but in three Olympics she never so much as medalled in 9 events. Always fell or got disqualified.
"Doing a Bradbury" is still a way Aussies refer to an unexpected, yet somehow deserved result.
As opposed to doing a Homer.
The opposite of "Couging it"
Bradbury is a full blown Aussie legend
He’s my friends dad lmao
this win is absolutely iconic
Steve did the most important thing of all,he didn’t F*** up like the rest.
GREATEST Aussie WIN at an Olympics ever ! Not just gold, but diamond. 💎
A bloke who spent a decade learning ice in a country that has no ice.
"Doing a Bradbury" is now Aussie slang. Well done, Steven !!! 👑
M 🦘🏏😎
I’m not Aussie but this is the best win ever! The whole story is insane and I love it
that Gold was fate for all the blood sweat and tears training and commitment - well deserved. Legend Bradbury.
I remember watching this live. Always makes me chuckle and sometimes come back to watch it.
We'll celebrate this forever! A win is a win!
Insane commitment and insane skill, deserved!!
Aussie Legend! 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
One of the most suprirising victory ever in olympic history
This is LEGENDARY! ! !
Haha, he’s wise always start carefully behind like he knows what’s gonna happen. legend!
What a legend!!
Ah yes, the birth of a legend
As the saying goes, it's not how you start but how you finish that counts!
This can’t be easy on their backs but boy their crossovers are phenomenal.
SLOW BUT STEADY WINS THE RACE ...PERFECT EXAMPLE
20 years later, AUSTRALIA WON GOLD AGAIN!
The definition of work smarter not harder 😂
Big from kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
Noticed that Bradbury is quite large for a speed skater, is often more upright & not as smooth in action as I'm now used to seeing. Also, in general, speed skating movement has become more fluid since, & 500m sprints more high-cadence.
Mmm yes. I also noticed the gold medal around is neck
I love how only qualified because of falls in every single race, and then wins because the same thing happened lmao
maybe that was his strategy! genius in my opinion. haha
this is incredible!!!!!!!
Love it!!
i laughed at everyone trying to catch up lol
Keberuntungan seumur hidup udah dipake :")
Steve don't feel bad you won the race fair and square . You were the 1st skater to properly complete the race end of story.
Aussie Aussie Aussie
Yay Aussies even though I’m 2 years late!!
Wow this bloke did a Bradbury 🙃
Why no movie yet?
Best gold medal 🏅
To finish first, first you must finish....Steve Bradbury you bloody legend 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺💪💪💪
Legend!
Definitely deserved,.not Steve's fault they all fell. He was also able to avoid the collisions and win!. Perfect example of the meaning of the Turtoise and hare story
Steven doing yet another Bradbury as he often did back then…
Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.
This is all so insane if you made a movie about it people would reject it for being too unbelievable (unless they knew the original story of course).
Yeap and he was a hero again with the help of his son, was able to save a bunch of teens their lives when they wers out surfing
So ....how many voodoo dools did he buy?
One doesn’t experience self-transcendence, the illusion of self only dissipates - 🎈
so basically running but on ice
Sometimes all you need is to stay in the competition.
I’m not even lying he’s my friend’s dad
But who came first?
Love it inspirational you don't have to be the best the😂🎉❤ fastest and more skilful you can still win
Wow. Never quick!
I'm INDIA 🇮🇳

First comment
Just seems quite silly and random sports.
The athletes dont have much space to overtake the others, so falls seem quite usual... Not a fair competition.
May the worst participant win lol
Yep.. Calculation .
But he wasn't the worst? He didn't fall.
