The roller coaster here in particular(Behemoth at Canada's Wonderland) is a very safe ride, nobody has ever died on the ride in its 11 year history, and the seat,. well the seat here is known as a "Clamshell" restraint, and this is proven time and time again to be one of, if not the safest seat for a roller coaster, and even better, this park Canada's Wonderland has never had a death relating to a ride in its 35 year history
B&M hypers are definently some of the safest. My sister is a GP and freaked out over the clamshell restraints because she likes OTSR but then she ended up loving Behemoth. And yes Clam shell restraints have a really advanced system making it a lot safer and has more pins just in case one breaks.

In the US on a ride like that they would have you buckled in plus a big plastic harness that would also go over your shoulders. Didn't seem like you were secured very well. if you are a beginner i definitely recommend this seats that are closer together especially when riding with kids just to make them feel more secure

Coaster safety gets checked everyday before a ride may open. They check the entire track, the trains on the ride, all the brakes and stuff, etc. etc. etc.
A coaster is not able to dispatch if a restraint is still open. So you can not fall out of your seat during the ride.
All this together makes a coaster safer than a plane flight. I hope you know more about the safety on coasters now so you're not as scared as on this video next time you ride a coaster.
