This is one reason I left life insurance (and Lincoln.) It’s so highly regulated and the captive agency model means they can do this to you whenever they want. I think you should continue but just become a multi-carrier agency like Duford. You can take your whole team and go do something new and not be held back by one expensive carrier and truly put the needs of the customer first and put them with the RIGHT carrier, not trying to force them all into a one-size-fits-all policy! Either that or go into multi-level marketing (what I’m currently doing), which is way less stressful and I’m way happier now than when I was doing life insurance. I believe you will be bigger and more successful than ever and the doors are opening for you now bigger than you can imagine, if you don’t let this setback take you out. Either way best of luck to you and thank you for the wonderful training content you provide. I know no matter what you do going forward you will be successful.

I think the take away we all can learn from this is mainly, do not put all your eggs in one basket. In other words do not work with one company and sell one product. She should have broke away from this company long before now and started her own independent business. I’m sure that will be her path forward. It’s a growing process and sometimes there’s no pain no gain along that process. I would look at this as the best thing that could happen. Now you’re forced to do what should have been done already. Start your own company !!!!

I have followed you for a while and am in the business as well. My two cents is, close the chapter quickly on LF. Don't wallow in what "could have been" and instead build your own business brand going forward. Become a broker instead of a single product representative. Add other products, FIA's for example, and in 1 year from now or even 6 months, you'll be in a much better position without beholding to a single company product for your business. Just my 2 cents, which is about what it's worth, but you'll come out alot better on the other side of this, that is not even in question. Your professionalism and dedication to your industry is 5 STARS! Peace !

Dang!! Sorry to hear that. I have only been interested in Telesales with Life Insurance/Final Expense. I found when doing it briefly - the manager insisted on door-to-door. Hopeless. Awful areas, too many no-shows, too expensive to drive all over and wasting gas, losing money, could never get them to let me be on the phone, and door - to - door - even with appointments didn't work for me. Too many no-shows! Lost too much money and too much time. Not an option if it can't be done by phone.

I think the take away we all can learn from this is mainly, do not put all your eggs in one basket. In other words do not work with one company and sell one product. She should have broke away from this company long before now and started her own independent business. I’m sure that will be her path forward. It’s a growing process and sometimes there’s no pain no gain along that process. I would look at this as the best thing that could happen. Now you’re forced to do what should have been done already. Start your own company !!!!

Dana, you are such a leader and true professional. You care about your clients and your team and want nothing but the best for everyone. I have followed you for a while and am in the business as well. My two cents is, close the chapter quickly on LF. Don't wallow in what "could have been" and instead build your own business brand going forward. Become a broker instead of a single product representative. Add other products, FIA's for example, and in 1 year from now or even 6 months, you'll be in a much better position without beholding to a single company product for your business. Just my 2 cents, which is about what it's worth, but you'll come out alot better on the other side of this, that is not even in question. Your professionalism and dedication to your industry is 5 STARS! Peace !

My first day with your team was supposed to be Monday, I’ve been the space for a few years and in telesales for the past year and I hadn’t been this excited about selling insurance until now. Sometimes one door closes so another can open, this does feel like a loss for the industry, though, and of course for all your active agents, listeners, and people you have inspired. I’m super bummed! Take care, Dana. Your training course was incredible. Stay in the insurance world! Build another team within an agency that isn’t stuck in the past! Dang!! Sorry to hear that. I have only been interested in Telesales with Life Insurance/Final Expense. I found when doing it briefly - the manager insisted on door-to-door. Hopeless. Awful areas, too many no-shows, too expensive to drive all over and wasting gas, losing money, could never get them to let me be on the phone, and door - to - door - even with appointments didn't work for me. Too many no-shows! Lost too much money and too much time. Not an option if it can't be done by phone.
