Thank you for reviewing Quelques Fleurs - I was at a Xmas party a few years ago and the hostess was wearing this scent - that's how I discovered it - a truly beautiful, unique, stunning fragrance. By the way, she was quite young so for anyone thinking this may not stand up, it was obviously wayyyyy ahead of its time. You are right, it is a niche fragrance - it is so feminine and very classy - but also sexy.
Aww thanks! I don’t do video to be RUclips famous!!! I really do them to help other fragrance lover make an informed decision on how they spend their hard earned money and to get the best scents possible! Thank you for the feedback!
I worked in Crabtree and Evelyn throughout high school because I have always adored perfume. I found this in 1986 when I followed a woman to ask her the name of her fragrance. I was in high school and saved up for my first bottle from the Neiman Marcus perfume counter. I wore this throughout college and met my husband during these years… it is still his very favorite and so I wore this on my wedding day. 33 years later, and too many fragrances to count in my collection , he still chases me down for a kiss if he catches it in the air. I have several back up bottles as it has gone in and out of production through the years. ❤️
Hi..Scott here, what a great story behind this one, wow! I first learned about houbigant just a few months ago. It’s amazing these amazing Parfumers survived World War One and Two. I was reading about Floris, and they started in 1913 in London, amazing histories they have. Well I ordered a bottle and going to send my friend, I hope she likes it. The notes are complex and we know some,of the best are like this, complex and unique. I just bought one that is amazing last week, you defiantly need to try, it’s awesome. Ormonde Jayne Tulu, and you strike me as one that would enjoy Van Cleef and Arpels, Bulgari especially Au the Blanc. Thanks for that!
OMG, yes, I was such an inappropriate child due me to going to middle school smelling like Shalimar, Habanita and Chanel #5. Ever seen a 12 year old smelling like Youth Dew? My mother kept telling me that I was too young to use her perfumes, but I could not help myself. By the time I left for college I had over 200 hundred bottles of everything under the sun, and this was back in the 70's when there were no vlogers doing videos of perfumes. I'm glad I was not the only one.
I love it that it is your favorite scent. I know you must smell divine and heavenly. The actual fragrance formulation dates back to 1775 in oil form. 1912 was when the first bottle of perfume was created for sell and mass consumption in the newly formed boutique in Paris.
Have been wanting to try it! I love Beautiful by Estee Lsuder so I’m hoping I love this! I love soapy warm floral perfumes. Beautiful review. Very helpful!
You are probably the first person I have seen review fragrances from the house of Houbigant. I have reviewed their fragrances and most people don’t know about them.
I was fascinated by this perfume when I heard Burlesque Star Dita von Teese wore it! I interviewed her many years ago! My question is if the fragrance was launched in 1912 how did Marie Antoinette wear it to her execution? Catch up with you later darling have to go edit another video! Pink Champagne Kisses 💋💋💋💋💋🍾🥂
Great question! The oil version and perfume house existed long before they manufactured it. She had the pure oil in a small bottle between her breasts. There were also several royal leaders who used the oil from this house. You can find the historical details on Wiki! It's quite fascinating.
Just ordered my first bottle, excited! Have you ever smelled blue lotus oil? I am curious bc it is such a beautiful scent that seems to evade many fragrance enthusiasts. I just buy the concentrated oil and put it in a perfume bottle, it is great on its own but i also find it to be very complementary to add after i spray something like chanel no 5.

It's pronounced 'Quelques Fleurs' by Houbigant [oubichont] , not ''Qualqua Floor' by Hubigant. Yes, french can be tricky. My batch is strange, for me a little bit too fresh and I can't smell the flowers very well. Is that normal? The drydown is sweet and flowery but after long time.
I Love Quelques Fleurs ...such a Princess-Like perfume 👸🏼🩷🌸 . It's the quintessence of femininity and grace🌸. (Infact, also Lady D used it for her Royal Wedding Ceremony 🩷). A Wonderful fairy-tale fragrance🩷

This has been my only fragrance since 1986. Btw

I was going to buy Italica but so many reviews on fragrantica said it leaned masculine. Do you find that?
Not at all. It’s very unisex and i wear it all the time. It’s superb! In my opinion leans feminine.

Interesting. The French boutique I went to pronounced the actual name the way I do. But they pronounced houbigant exactly as you said.
