Having worked in the conservation area, what you say in this video is very real. To maintain a healthy environment for our beloved wild lions, there has to be a great deal of factors to consider. Food and water sources being a large part of the consideration. Too many lions can deplete the prey very rapidly, leading to serious problems. This is a sensitive subject. Thank you for raising it. Public awareness is very important. Thank you.

Would imagine the last thing (most) viewers on your channel would want is to put down a lion. SAVE habitat SAVE lions is One of the slogans From your clothing shop. An alternative is to buy up more land & the reason I joined/donated to the KR foundation. On a different note, Niaobe and Echo are doing really well, thx to u!!

Kevin your educational videos do not go unnoticed! A year or so ago family friends went on a cruise and bragged about the best part: a lion cub petting session. While everyone on social media was enamored with the cub (b/c it was adorable), I told them exactly what i learned about lion cub petting, how they keep them small and what they do to those growing lions once they start getting bigger. That is information I learned from you, George & Yame. People really are uninformed and think of only their own self interest. HBD Echo & Naiobi!!

Amen, thank you for this information & education videos, I'm always watching, and a big animal lover myself, yes, people must know what is really going on in the world, the real TRUTH, I was so MAD when you told the story about George & Yame, how they were fed very little so that they could stay small for the animal petting part, that is so so CRUEL, I cried my eyes out, I appreciate all your hard word & effort that you are putting in for your beloved animals, I did read your book "Part of the Pride" and thoroughly enjoyed it, keep it going Kevin, God bless you and all His beautifull creatures 😇😇😇😇🤗🤗🤗🤗💕💕💕💕🙏🙏🙏🙏

It’s wonderful to see Echo and Naiobi it’s also a reminder that the gentleman of all Lions Siam is missing, a much loved lion. I always listen to the educational side whether it’s yourself or other African charities I support. As it’s not easy and it’s trying to come to a solution that would work for everyone but it’s not a perfect world and very unlikely that you’ll ever please everyone. As an animal lover I try to understand all points of view, we keep on and fight the good fight❤️🦁❤️🦁

Echo and Naobi are beautiful girls. Before watching this video I never understood what complex and emotive issue this was. The lions need more land for their numbers and the human population is also expanding and requires more land too. If they have to euthanise some lions hopefully they would chose the less healthy lions but it must be a hard decision and I’m sure one which is not taken lightly . Thank you for educating us in this and thank you for giving all the animals at the sanctuary such a lovely life.

This video tells us that there are no easy answers for the conservation of lions. We must trust that those who are in positions that decide the fate of the lions know what steps will work the best with as little culling as possible. Thank you Kevin for giving us the truth of the situation. It is too easy to think that all is rosy and there are no hard decisions to be made moving foreward.

Happy Birthday Echo and Naiobi!🦁🦁Naiobi and then Echo when they first came out the gate and were taking their time to get going were just so cute! "An all day walk" indeed. And then: "Freedom!"😄Thanks so much for this important video. Please be encouraged to post more videos like it, even if it goes against people's "like" tendencies. I certainly learnt something new, even though I have heard you talking about a similar topic in a previous video. If we want to preserve lions, we must act with our heads as well as our hearts and in this day of quick emotive response it's really important to engage in deepening people's understanding. Thank you again!! PS: I would totally donate money to buying of land! What a sensible, forward-looking idea. :)

I agree with you, Kevin. What is the most important about this situation is that at the end of the day what is best for the lions and the people that have to live with them in these areas is to do it humanely. If this means euthanizing then so be it. More than likely it would be shot by the landowners if the lions are causing damage. Thank you, Kevin for doing what you do and educating us and the world at large. Unfortunately, with social media people tend to hide behind a screen and become “experts” on the topic they are commenting on. Much love from 🇨🇦 ❤❤

When we love animals so much, it is difficult to accept that lions are euthanized because they are surplus to requirements in a reserve fenced off by humans. But the landowner is able to make the decisions necessary to manage the balance of the eco-system of his property. Thank you Kevin for using your energy to make all lion lovers understand that despite difficult decisions to make, everyone does their best to preserve the habitat of this magnificent animal and protect it. I admire what you have done and are doing for conservation. Education is one of the most essential tools to provide knowledge and insight into what is happening and what needs to happen to preserve species in the wild. If I had the opportunity as a biologist, it would be to gather as much DNA from different lion species throughout Africa. This is important as every species is essential to the health of an ecosystem. Removing one species can weaken a habitat, and an entire ecosystem could collapse. Plus, I would love to identify if any lions carry the Barbary lion gene.

Todays walk was fantastic to watch and to hear Kevin’s knowledge about these fine majestic animals. For those of you who’d rather complain about this , perhaps it’s your opportunity to appreciate the work that Kevin has and continues to do with these beautiful animals , you know you might actually learn something 🤗🤗

Thanks for your openness about the issues. Regarding chipping in a bit towards a big project, let me recount what happened in a very small part of Ireland about 25 years ago. There were plans afoot for setting up a spectacular, state-sponsored tourism centre that would explain the unique landscape of the Burren. In order to realise the project, massive works would have been destroying the very area by building roads and parking areas for the busses meant to boost the local economy via channeling people that would otherwise not readily find their way there into the commercial complex.
That area is very sensitive to disturbances, and highly appreciated by the local population. There was only one thing that could be done to stop the idiocy - find a field smack in the middle of the intended monstrosity, parcel it off into tiny lots and sell these separately to individuals who would never want to part with them. Thus the project was rendered unfeasible; it would have been impossible to even track down each of the owners of 1 square meter! The plot set me back 25 Pounds, I think it was still at the time before we changed to the Euro. Each person received a poster with a view of 'The Field That Watches Mulloughmore', which looks great framed. It's the only piece of land I have acquired so far. I will always be proud of it! Perhaps you can adapt this idea and use it for the land needed to add to the sanctuary?

Much respect for you and your foundation. Basically it is obviously helping to save these beautiful animals. Man unfortunately, as elsewhere, has taken so much of their habitat. Euthenasia seems a more ethical way of keeping numbers to a level the lions can thrive. I find the thought of hunting a less pleasing thought. Again thank you for all your work and wonderful videos. 🦁🦁🦁🧡💛🧡🧡💛

Very interesting, informative video Kevin. Like most "big" issues the conservation and care of lions doesn't seem to have one simple answer. Thank you for the information. It was cool to see Naiobi in such an upbeat, playful mood. Have a great day.

Happy b-day to two of my favorite girls: Echo & Naiobi!!! I'm glad to hear their health issues are resolving. It's wonderful seeing Naiobi & Echo enjoying their senior years!!!! Once again, you took a VERY heated emotional issue and articulated it very well from several points of views to show what difficult decisions need to be made with lion/land conservation. I know you are following your heart & your head to do what you can to actually contribute in a way you think is best not only for the lions, but everyone involved. Thank you, Kevin, for all you do not only for the lions but for all animals.

Kevin your continued efforts to share your life with all the lions in your care is beautiful. Your time is not lost on us. The information you share with us is very enlightening. Sadly the course of the lives of the wild lions is always facing hurdles and of course the needs for the illegal trade to be controlled is a daily battle. What becomes of the lives of the lions in the wild if no one steps in. It will never be an easy task. The choices are never what one would wish to make such as there will offer. It simply is not an essy answer. Death compared to what makes it easy to find an answer. This is sadly no easy answer to keep population in reasonable control from all corners of the world from which the numbers surface. It is a sadness which carries hard decisions. 😢🙏❤️

Thank you for this video. It sounds like you are doing what is best for the survival of the species in every way possible. I can understand the frustration with the euthanasia choice, but people need to to know that a sanctuary or preserve manager knows his animals. Which would be worse: euthanasia or letting all starve or die of disease slowly? Hard decisions all around and I am glad that you are there to help us understand them. 💖

Thank you Kevin for everything you do for the lions in your care & by extension the lions in the world. Most of us are not experts so I imagine we will yield to your extensive knowledge & proof of your dedication in this field. This video really speaks to the complexity of the issues faced in trying to manage this issue so I'm glad you pointed out all the versions of options faced by those of you in the field actually doing the work. Internet bravado is a huge problem that does nothing to help the issue directly for the animals & as you said is usually done for likes or virtual signaling. Keep up the great work.

Your commitment and that of your team is a magnificent example...We are all actors in our lives and we can all if we look around us find something to get involved in helping beautiful wild souls to live and survive because afterwards all Animals, trees, human beings, We all live on the same planet. Thank You Kevin!! Please keep giving your message to the World. Lions, just as other endangered animals out in the Wild, need a loud voice to tell people the truth. I believe that you really know the plight that faces these magnificent cats. I will pray that you will get the resources you need to help Sumba you mentioned, and maybe other Lions too. I personally just love all big cats. Hopefully I will be able to make a contribution in future. Lovely video with two very special lady lions!!❤❤
