Hi Sue, you are an absolute legend! I am a nurse and carer for my father who has dementia. Your videos inspired me to use Art Therapy with my father. After we finished our first masterpiece (laughs) my father said "this has made my day" I can't thank you enough for sharing your amazing talent. From both of us, Thank You x
I was taken by the photo I saw and thought, wow this looks so cool, I like the look of resin and want to start working with it, but did not want to do the normal things other people do. I am a working with clay sculpture and when i saw your video it blew me away....... thank you you have started my brain working overload, I just need time to start on a project. thank you for sharing your creative heart.... God have given you a beautiful gift and you are sharing it with the world. That is just wonderful thank you again. I am Looking forward to starting my new project.
After watching your drip pour vase yesterday I had an idea to do a water splash and low and behold this morning I saw your video. I must be channeling you. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
hope this is not too much info-but i quit boozin after yrs of it and found few hundred dollars left over each month- so much time on my hands i needed a to do-to keep me busy- you are so much easier to follow than any AA- keepin me inspired- thank you from the bottom of my heart and liver too!
Thank you, you should, it is fun to do. Note, I created this in winter, so had quite a long working time. If doing this during the summer months, reduce the time you wait until you move it. The resin should be just past the sticky stage, so that it is still soft and bendy. You can test it by picking up a corner of the bag.
Hi Sue, thank you so much for your videos I am definitely going to try this in the new year. Please could you give me a rough idea of how much resin to use? Thank you.
From France ... Bravo for this tutorial !! But the resin does not stick to the plastic bag? Do you use a mold release agent? A big thank you in advance and happy holidays
I used two slightly different sizes of vases. Just so that they would fit inside each other. If you only have the one vase, you can drape one on top of the other, just remember to place an extra layer of plastic between them. It makes it easier to separate, I learned this from experience. 😉
Wow your work is amazingly beautiful I’ve just binged watch all your videos. What type of epoxy resin do you use. I’ve used FX, Pro-marine, Alualite, &. Bar top epoxy, however I’ve only made custom tumblers and small molds, never thought of daring to try anything this ambitious what do you recommend?
I don't make coasters, so can't help with that. As for wall pieces, you could use the formula of material costs x 3, or work out your time + material costs x 2. Whichever you are more comfortable with.
Do I remember correctly from one of your videos, to get a nice set on these pours before molding, is to touch your stir stick and if you leave a finger print it's ready? Thank you!
Good morning A nice thing when one sees channel owners ’reactions to comments. Not only are you beautiful and your work beautiful, your soul is also more beautiful. I thank you.
All depends on how big you want your bowl to be. I normally pour what I have left on to the plastic sheet, then decide what size vase to drape it over. If I need a particular size bowl, I use an online resin calculator to get a rough idea how much to mix. www.uresin.com.au/art-calculators/
Amazing Tfs!! The only question I have is in the beginning with the glass vase you covered. Was the resin mold easy to unmold from the glass vase that mimics the exact shape? I didnt see any special prep for the glass and there was no plastic or other barrier between the glass and resin. It appeared you poured the resin straight onto the vase? It would seem difficult to unmold but maybe Im wrong!! 😁 💖 It all came out beautiful!! Thank you!!
Do you keep the glass vase inside the resin coating when it's finished? Or is the resin part removed from the glass? I couldn't tell from the video. What a wonderful piece of work!
I generally use old brushes that I was going to throw away anyway. If it is a brush I can use again, I will clean it with turpentine. Make sure you wear gloves to avoid getting resin and turps on your hands 💕
This looks simple but it's not, I tried it but failed to create one, and I am little bit curious and have some questions about it, How much quantity I should take for each layer and how long I should wait for it to set in the plate before I take it on the vase to cure?
How much you need depends on the size of the plate and the time to move is going to vary at different times of the year, as temperatures play a big roll in it. I generally wait until the resin is no longer sticky before moving. Sorry, I can’t be more specific, but there are so many variables involved.
@@SueFindlay thanks a lot for taking out time to answer my questions, it's a great help. It's just I admire your work and the way you explain, it's looks so simple but actually it's not. Thanks God Bless.
Thank you for the tutorial. Sorry to be a negative minnie, but why isyour cat able to be in the same room? Its so dangerous to use resin around animals
This is such a great resin tutorial video! I found this on Pinterest looking for resin sculpture ideas. Do you know how much resin you do pour for one vase sculpture?

Ah what a lovely story 💕 I am delighted that art has brought you and your father together.
You have a heart of gold. Most artist hide their techniques you give willingly so others can learn. TYTYTY
Thank you. The way I see it, is that I am self taught, I got to learn the basics from watching videos. By sharing my videos, I am giving back.
@@SueFindlay I appreciate the sentiment which makes you a good artist, for we give pleasure in what we create. Hugs !

Hi Sue, thank you so much for your videos I am definitely going to try this in the new year. Please could you give me a rough idea of how much resin to use? Thank you.
I don’t remember the exact amount, I am guessing about 300 ml.
@@SueFindlay Thank you.
Fabulous! Very nice!! What type of resin did you use please?
Thank you, I used a coating resin to create this piece.
So cool! Thanks!
Thank you 💕
That is pretty. It would look even better if it was a ocean blue with the edges of the splashes of the water in a light white.
I have created blue versions and they do look good 😍
So beautiful. Do you lay the resin on top of the vase with the resin facing up?
Yes I do!
From France ... Bravo for this tutorial !! But the resin does not stick to the plastic bag? Do you use a mold release agent? A big thank you in advance and happy holidays
No, resin doesn't stick to plastic. Always test you resin on any new plastics to check it doesn't stick 💕
I want to know how to make that circle resin piece behind you...the yellow and black
I created that one, before I started making videos. Sorry.
Hermoso trabajo me encanta,yo no sé inglés,me encantaría poder entender todo lo que explicas
Lamentablemente, solo hablo en inglés.
Thank you that gave me an idea
You’re welcome 💕
lovely
Thank you 💕
wow amazing love it. the resin sculptures are they all the same glass or vase size?
I used two slightly different sizes of vases. Just so that they would fit inside each other. If you only have the one vase, you can drape one on top of the other, just remember to place an extra layer of plastic between them. It makes it easier to separate, I learned this from experience. 😉
@@SueFindlay ty. Do I have to wait before draping the other one on the sculpture one on the vase.
Love them Sue! 👏👏👏How long did you leave them before removing them from the plastic on the plates? Thanks a lot!
Jilly Tiffen I am pretty sure it was about 4 hours. I think I mention how long in the video. I recorded it about 6 months ago.

I mainly use U Resin Standard UV.
Sue Findlay would that be Similar to any that I mentioned, I’m in the US and I’ve never seen U resin
I haven’t used any of the resins you have mentioned, so can’t comment on whether they are similar.
Hiya could you give me an indication of what to charge for sets of 4 & 6 coasters ? and also circular Resin Wall pieces please? Debs x
I don't make coasters, so can't help with that. As for wall pieces, you could use the formula of material costs x 3, or work out your time + material costs x 2. Whichever you are more comfortable with.

Wouldn’t you mind giving me a guesstimate of how much resin I’d need for one bowl instead of 4? I just hate to have left overs 😉
All depends on how big you want your bowl to be. I normally pour what I have left on to the plastic sheet, then decide what size vase to drape it over. If I need a particular size bowl, I use an online resin calculator to get a rough idea how much to mix. www.uresin.com.au/art-calculators/
Great idea! Pour first then decide bowl size! Why didn’t I think of that? Lol!

Thank you Sherry 💕 The resin has been left on the glass, I didn't remove it.
Please how to make resin behind you the yellow not the red ?
It’s beautiful
I don't have a video of that one, sorry. 💕
Do you keep the glass vase inside the resin coating when it's finished? Or is the resin part removed from the glass? I couldn't tell from the video. What a wonderful piece of work!
The two pieces can be used separately, you can place the vase inside the resin or leave it out 😉
How do you wash out your brush after using resin.
I generally use old brushes that I was going to throw away anyway. If it is a brush I can use again, I will clean it with turpentine. Make sure you wear gloves to avoid getting resin and turps on your hands 💕
Which type of gems u have used in this video???... Plz tell me the name of it so that I can buy
I used Acrylic Diamonds 💕 If you look in the description of the videos, you will find links to the products use.

Hi Sue I just stumbled on your videos and am now a subscriber. Is the resin pliable because it is thin? Thank you so much for your videos.
Yes, the resin is pliable because it is a thin layer 😉
Thank you.
Thank You Sweetheart, Love Love it.
Thank you 💕
🥺
Thank you for the tutorial. Sorry to be a negative minnie, but why isyour cat able to be in the same room? Its so dangerous to use resin around animals
My pleasure. My dog came in briefly and left. My garage doors were open and there is good ventilation. I appreciate your concern.
This is such a great resin tutorial video! I found this on Pinterest looking for resin sculpture ideas. Do you know how much resin you do pour for one vase sculpture?
Thank you. I don't know the exact amount of resin because I didn't measure it. It is around 200-300ml. 😁
